  • And I thought Cerby was fast =D

  • my favorite is Opel ! ....but this is german power.... muhhahaha

  • hahaha..The hourse was beaten by a beetle=D

  • One word.....the VW Bug was tuned

  • @Kamadark hell i care ! the only thing that makes this 2 cars different is the ACCELERATION. a beetle has a back engine compared to the GT thingy that has a front engine. thats y the beetle has the greater acceleration. the ford GT would win if the distance is more farther. but its called DRAG. only 1/4 mile to win. nd btw, FUCK YOUR CAR. WE LOVE BEETLE !

  • @TaBaLoTsKiE09 yeah that is true and i agree but the beetle has a WAY SMALLER engine

  • @XboxGamerKidd the size doesnt matter. whats important is the "MUSTANG GT" lost againts a 1953 oval back beetle. hahahaha ! :))

  • @Kamadark Big bore /stroked/ balanced . I know . I have a 9.00 sec .Meyers Manx turbo !

  • @Kamadark That's 5 words.

  • hehe ...

  • Rest In Pieces Carlsbad Raceway.

    Cool vid, thanks for sharing!

  • My FAV. video of my beloved VW..Herbie's got a Hard on that not even Viagra in the gas tank could get that Ford to beat 'em!!!!!Take THAT ya MUST-TANG......;)THAT'S Das AUTO!(they don't call it da 'Love Bug:for nuttin'!;)

  • the killer bug......el escarabajo asesino

  • is that a mustang GT?

  • german engineering,what can i say..

  • One Happy BUG :)

  • gg

  • sss

  • Dear Santa....

  • Needs to work on his suspension

  • no mamen eso no es un vocho jajajja

  • unbeetleble!

  • does it have a vw beetke engine in it?

  • @Legacy690 never :D

  • Damn you need some wheelie bars

  • poor mustang

  • Fahrvergnügen

  • wow! pretty intense for a small volkswagen

  • sounds like a ford pinto block???

  • @nescafio Actually hitler had nothing to do with the design of the Beetle. But thanks for the attempt at a whitty response to slander jews.

  • My dear, I said, contributed not invented,,

  • @nescafio you must know very little about volkswagen history

  • @marcoze Hitler was not responsible for the design specifics of the Beetle but was the driving force behind the beetle. He set the specifications the car had to meet, fuel economy, carrying capacity, speed, cost etc. Porsche designed the car and Hitler approved. Contrary to popular belief Hitler did one good thing...the VW! Perhaps if Hitler had known how wildly successful the VW was going to be he would not have felt the need to take his frustrations in life out on so many innocent people!

  • @1BSARoadRocket Cool, so first off thanks alot for agreeing with me. Second off, if i sit here and tell someone that i want a Chocolate cake that is 12" tall and 15" in diameter, 2" from the top i want a layer of cherries and from there down i want white chocolate truffle sauce glazed over the entire thing.........Now i send that off to a bakery and they send me a cake, i say "Mmmm, this cake is delicious!"......Now, using methods of deductive reasoning tell me whom is responsible for the cake?

  • @marcoze Oh boy...battle of wits and word mincing now huh??? A guy agrees with you and you gotta tear him apart? Ok I get it, I get it. Stick with chocolate cake, WW2 history and VW history is clearly out of your league.

By the way a Geo Metro would easily meet all of the specifications Hitler expected the Beetle to meet, but even somebody who is into chocolate cake can see that a beetle and a Geo Metor don't have much in common other than 4 cylinders and 4 wheels.

  • @1BSARoadRocket What in the hell are you talking about guy. Last time I checked a Geo Metro, British '35 Ford Model Y, and a '37 Citroen dont have anything to do with a VW beetle and/or Hitler. BTW, stateside Geo metros' also came standard with a 3cyl turbo or 3 cyl N/A In the hatchback models.

but again i ask what in the hell do ANY of those other vehicles have to do with Hitler or the VW beetle? Are you just now naming all of the cars you know? What about an Anglia? Topolino?

  • @marcoze Read and comprehend and then you will understand what I'm talking about. I'm looking at the big picture and in the big picture model Ys and every single european car of the WW2 era plays a part in VW history and some American ones as well. Don't forget politics...with out Hitlers promise of a peoples car the beetle never would have come into being and with out the war debt Germany owed the UK the Brits may never have rebuilt the factory for the Germans.

  • @marcoze A model Y is mechanically the same car as an Anglia which is just a minature replica of a Model A Ford with a different body....an expert such as yourself should know this. I chose to compare a Model Y and '37 citroen with a beetle because they were in the same class of cars yet radically different in design. These cars have a lot to do with the VW because they were competitors in the car market and the beetle design was able to rise from the ashes and out perform both of them.

  • @marcoze If there was nothing about the VW design that was a cut above the Citroens, British Fords, and maybe even the Topolino and many others, the Brits woud not have bothered to invest in rebuilding their enemies VW factory and the beetle would not exist in any form other than a relic in a war museum. Hopefully the big picture is clear for you and now you can see why these cars have something to do with a VW. Think big picture.

  • @1BSARoadRocket Also, here is a statement that youve just made that walks over itself right out of the gate.

"Hitler was not responsible for the design specifics of the Beetle but was the driving force behind the beetle. He set the specifications the car had to meet, "

Hitler was NOT responsible for the DESIGN SPECIFICS of the Beetle.

He set the SPECIFICATIONS the car had to meet.

    SPECIFICS

    SPECIFICATIONS

see what im getting at here? Am i too literal for you?

  • @marcoze When reading pay attention to contextual cues in text when you don't understand words. I think what you are trying to say is that you don't know enough to be able to explain exactly what makes the Beetle different from other European cars of the '30's that were also in the same class yet had completely different designs. What design specifics of a beetle make it different than a '37 Citroen or a British '35 Ford Model Y and what specifications put it in the same class of cars?

  • @nescafio i'm not jew, but you are really a DUMBASS

  • @estamoslocosoq I believe that those who defended the Jews .. Is really a Dumbass

  • @nescafio actually fuckstick, Ferdinand Porsche designed and built the beetles as a people's car. It was funded by the Nazi party in part because Hitler wanted cheap transport for his troops. But thanks for your comments about the jews, nice to know people are still ignorant.

  • 0:26 for Farting!

  • mustang even make a effort? or its just really heavy

  • Herbi's african brother ^^

  • Mustang is gone, the bug's exhaust blew it away.

  • That's just crazy...but I like it.

  • that mustang prolly saw it burn out and was like "fuck. . . ." lol

  • I like this car

  • Watch, at the very moment the camera begins to pan back, and you can see the briefest flash of the Mustang...it's very blurry, but you can see tail lights and everything. Mystery solved! I went back and looked after I realized that the announcer gave two times, so the guy had to be there somewhere!

  • Is that a stock beetle? just kiding

  • If I remember it correct, in america the beetle was banned in the 70s from drag racing by mayor drag racing associations. Because it was so light, it was lightning fast when a big engine was thrown in. Same happend to the british caterham cars over here in europe.

  • lol i bet the guy in the mustang went home and burned his car...

  • DAMN!!,, Is that Carlsbad??? I miss that place,,,, damn developers couldn't find any other place to build houses?. lol

  • and 11 sec 4 cyl punch buggy just gave the pony car a black eye

  • I only just noticed that it says "Dyno Don Rules" on the hood...could this cqr have something to do with the famous "Dyno Don" Nicholson of NHRA fame? He died in 2006, but I'm curious. Maybe this guy is just a fan, or maybe he uses that nickname for himself too?

  • Where did the mustang even go. Its like it dissappeared.....

  • @Kagaines That's what I was wondering...maybe it was literally "blown away" by the Bug? Crappy looking car, anyway. 1990's Mustangs are the worst.

  • @justforever96 I think it ran the other way in shame. I agree 90s mustangs were terrible. I think that one is a 2000 or so though. They looked a little better I think. New mustangs are pretty tite tho.

  • @Kagaines The guy had mistakenly selected reverse gear. I guess bad nerves got to him when he heard the Bug rev up.

  • Throw the wife in under the bonnet-get more traction?

  • Herbie on Steroids

  • @TheFassold you're just trying to deny the fact that the bug won.

And we all know it! Haha!

  • Lard ass stang

  • very good !!!

  • Smoked 'Em!hah

  • How big would you say the engine is on the bug?

  • whats really funny is you say unbelievable power... its probably got between 160hp and 200hp... its just that beetles weigh nothing, im not hating cause i have two and love them but you gotta give all those beetle racers alot of credit for getting under 10 sec with a car that originally had about 30hp

  • @AaronRockerWTF If it had a turbo it could make 300hp easy...but with that exhaust I doubt he does. I think it's just stripped down to nothing, with a built engine. Just shows you don't NEED a supercharged big-block or a twin-turbo to go fast.

  • @justforever96 im 100% sure he doesnt have a turbo but the engine he uses is is probably close to 2000cc but so be honest the most ive ever seen come out of a beetle is maybe 260 but thats one with a 2270cc and its completely pushed to the max and it doesnt have a tubro, if he put one on all it would do it blown up the engine, they already have really good compression

  • Did the dude on the stang forget where the accelerator is?

  • wheres the mustang?

  • dont judge a book by its cover

  • @jamesguitarplayer1 everybody underestimates these little demons :P i love smoking tuners and muscle in my 1968 bug

  • @jamesguitarplayer1 well for me... the beetle looks way better

  • hahahahaha wow.

  • that bug raped that mustang!!!!!!!!!!!

    xD

  • @herbienbrian2 Yeah, what mustang!!!

  • I like where the invisible man hits the Beetle with a bat. German make cars. The stock Beetle weighs nothing. This one floats without a driver in the seat.

  • This defys all logic.

  • go herbie go!!!

  • Bet the Beetle has less HP than the Mustang.

  • @jdswiney Doubt it them Stangs only had 260bhp stock and that thing was poppin wheelies

  • @SpeedDemons420 260 hp in a Beetle would be a lot. You can pop a wheelie in a Beetle with less power than that.

  • @jdswiney Doubt it that Stang has 217rwhp and yeah 260 horse in a beetle is alot to a Mustang thats nothing dont get me wrong souped up beetles are sick but dont overrate them please

  • SEE YA!!!!!!

  • a suped up turboed bug against an all stock stang, plus the ford didnt take off at the same time he just sat there. the ford was half way down the track and hit his brakes

  • @TheFassold Still in all the fucking bug won. No matter how that fucking stang took off or no matter what he did the Beetle would've still won. And your talking to a die hard Mustang fan, But I also own a beetle and know what they are capable of

  • @TheFassold would it have really mattered....had it been a suped up stang with a decent start, it would still get beat

  • that mustang driver killed him self when he saw this video

  • thats what i call bug juice

  • i love it! can't watch this video enough.Bugs rule and horses drool! haha

  • Ford owner : Vw? are u kidding me? hahaaha okok

Vw Owner: Yes a vw, stop talking let's race

    Ford owner:i'm rdy

    Vw: me too

Ford: FFS, i just racing against plane.

    Vw: Dam, 11:992, that's bad

  • looks like herbie's black cousin!

  • the guy in the mustang porbably looked at it and was like damn i got this and then i did the burnout and he was ohhhhh shit !!!!!!!!!

  • Mustang had a bum leg and had to be put down later that day..

  • Hitler is getting away!!!

  • @289pinto

one problem that isnt the swasticka.

  • this bug is great

  • Hahahaha where did the Mustang go??

  • @WhoWantsToKnow81 0:32 you see the Mustand. Don't blink.

  • hahaha.. that beetle jumped 2 times..xD

  • Mustang is OWNED

  • Mind is blown. I refuse to believe that is a beetle.

  • That bug bent that pony over the rails and rammed his wiener-schnitzel into it. The pony just laid there and took it.

  • Carlsbad Raceway I presume. Nothing better than the smell of race gas & token-up on tire smoke at sunset! I was taught many great lessons mechanically speaking while attending there quite often as a teenager. Hmmm? Maybe this was the reason behind a failed honeymoon/marriage? If only I had just given up that tire smoking habit sooner....

  • Holy crap, is that an old air cooled VW engine????!!!!!!! And its naturally aspirated!!!!!!!????? That is absolutely amazing!!!

  • este video aun que ya es viejo es un clasico en youtube

  • a horse got raped by an invertebrate... go beetles

  • i wanna see that mustang drivers face when the beetle took off

  • its only a 1600cc with 36 hp!!! lol gotta love a flat-4!!!

  • @mudpuppy4life Eh, no. I owned a 1600, and a 2110 stroker. This was not a 1600. More like a 2332, perhaps turbocharged and injected. Anyway, not trying to knock your comment but, I promise you that was far more than a stock 1600.

  • @TheReptilianBrain lol i was being a smartass but its all cool

  • @mudpuppy4life Gotcha, haha, sometimes I shouldn't get on the youtube when I'm drunk and less able to detect sarcasm...

  • @mudpuppy4life 36hp stock, maybe! A stock Beetle is good for 0-60mph in like 25 seconds. This is closer to 200hp, although I don't think it's a turbo. You can make well over 300hp with a turbo.

  • @justforever96 what was the engine making when it was stock?!?!.....i might be wrong on the whp but i do know it is a 1600 flat-4

  • @justforever96 what was the engine making when it was stock?!?!.....i might be wrong on the whp but i do know it is a 1600 flat-4

  • @mudpuppy4life Huh??? It was making 36hp stock (at least nominally). Just like you said. And how do you know it's a 1600cc? You can modify them up to 2000-2300cc by stroking and boring, and to make this kind of power I'm sure this is larger than the stock 1600cc! With a turbo you could do it with a stock displacement, but I think this one is natural aspirated...I don't hear any turbo, and the classic stinger exhaust is hard to do with a turbo setup.

  • Stang driver fell asleep.

  • i missed the like button :(

  • jajajaj que buen conductor

  • I think what I like most about this vid is the guy with the GT only bought it to pick up chicks but most chicks luv bugs, so he's whipped either way…

On 2nd thoughts, I feel sorry for him

  • Wow you can't squash that Bug the thing is mean.

  • the bettle still had time to stop and make a phone call to famer jhon by the time the pony crossed the line the slaughter house was waiting for him lol

  • Herbies big brother

  • Its awesome, but you need like 180 Horses to do a wheelie in a Beetle, lol

  • holy!!! haha herbie<3

  • i have the modern day version of this beetle its an 01. lets go herbi!!

  • @18vwT Ugg...modern "Beetles" are just FWD crap. Nothing close to as cool as the original, just a bad imitation.

  • herbie fucked satan!!! LAW!!!

  • Damnnn...awesome bug

  • kickin' some ass and takin' names on who wants to be next

  • Thats the bad Brother of Herbie!!! :D

  • .. when exhaust pipes double as wheelie-bars..

  • อึ้ง กิม กี่

  • Love It :D

  • if i were the stang, id never show my face again from embarrassment.

  • i like how it calms down at 0:10 yet he still silently roars.

  • nice one.......

  • At least its old and rear wheel drive!!and not a honda civic or v tec front wheel drive .

  • Did the mustang stalled ?

  • Owned

  • you know the guy in the stang knew he lost before it even started...bugs ftw

  • back in black!

  • volkswagen for the win ! VW all the way...

  • Was the driver in the GT sleeping?

Massive drag Beetle, love to see how it actually made little wheely's shifting up the gears.

  • now thats one teutonic warrior!

  • R.I.P carlsbad raceway..

  • herbie is back bitches

  • beat me to it.

    ; )

    Herbie rides again, again..

should play the theme music of Herbie rides again with this clip

  • Isnt it sad that 1939 circa engineering just wasted and destroyed modern engineering?

  • @sirlonghair

"the stang could run that race over and over 400,000 times before the rebuild the VW maybe 5 times"

I'd rather rebuild my car 5 times & be a winner... than be a loser 400,000 times...

    just sayin'

  • poor mustang

  • I'd still get the Mustang

  • That bugs on drugs man look at it pulling away hoping all over to place unable to contain how high it is on Ecstacy.

  • no to né :D

  • What mustang?

  • Racing a vw against a mustang is well........... racing a vw against a mustang

  • haha nice beatle :P

  • but the good thing about the bug is you can do it yourself work on any part pull an engine in 15 min. and install the back up no coolant low maintenance if you don't build them to radical this is quite radical and is in a different category called( high maintenance )

  • There are a few things that need to be said..

    1) Yes modern cars get weighed down but so does the bug.. it HAS to have a roll cage which weighs it down A LOT more than the gadgets in the Mustang.

    2) People modify their beetles to make them this quick? Yes so... the Mustang was already being modified in the factory where they did lots of tuning on the engine.

    3) The Beetle only has like a 2L - 2.3L engine whereas the Mustang is what? 4L Or so?

  • @Dazzzzzzzzzzzz sure the mustang has over 2x the displacement 4.6 to be exact and still loses to a bug with old school technology. Maybe it has dual carbs but that mustang has fuel injection. And not to mention 4 more cylinders. You call a cookie cutter v8 modified? No way its just the easiest cheapest way for ford to make 200+ hp. Check out the 2.3 turbo ford mustang svo 190 hp stock. But some with modification are pushing 800+. And that ended in 1986. Imagine what they could do today.

  • @Dazzzzzzzzzzzz None of these matter in the long run. $3000 will get you a Drag ready Veedub.

$50k will get you a mustang that will still lose against a $3000 Drag ready Veedub.

  • @SonicthePlumber I know. Been a VeeDubber all my life :)

  • @SonicthePlumber ha yep!!

  • @SonicthePlumber 150hp out of a flat four air cooled motor at least 10k. I love em but there not that cheap.

  • @bradgotch PFFFFFFF

    HAHAHAHAHA.

    No.

A 1915 can get 150hp easily. that shouldn't cost any more than 3 grand for topline parts and an engine machining.

  • @SonicthePlumber Are you in the U.K or states? Because in Australia it costs more than 3k if I could get 150 hp for 3k I would be shoving one in my 64. It is often said if you have a figure in your head double it at least.

  • @bradgotch In the states. Shipping really doesn't apply to people who can get the parts from the source, so I guess that is a big reason it would be so ungodly expensive in OZ.

  • @SonicthePlumber Thats why schmucks love the v8 over here for the same money you get twice the hp. It is a damn shame I Dont see any quick bugs over here. Ive owned a 67 bus, a 58 bug, a 56 bug , a 62 bug and now my 64 ,but I can not reason a 10k motor when 5k will get my 1960 f100 250hp. You Yanks have it sweet. I will have to come over some day.

  • @bradgotch Yeah, I just got my engine bored to accept 94mm pistons last week. Cost me $200. The piston and barrel kit cost me another $200. The Dyno test came up with 102hp. This is without any modifications other than the piston upgrade.

  • @bradgotch It may get you double the horsepower but the weight of the VW compared to just about anything else is a huge difference. Sure, spend 3 grand getting a big bore kit, duel carbs, a new oil system, and a few other odds and ends and come out with maybe 150+ hp, but put that 150+ in a car that only weighs 15-1700 pounds, compared to the 300-400 in a 3-4000 pound car.

  • :D:D wie krass der Käfer abhebt beim Start und beim schalten :D

  • of course the stang could run that race over and over 400,000 times before the rebuild the VW maybe 5 times
