He tweaked a few things from the original composition, and I love it! The best interpretation I've ever heard, including from the composer. The piece just makes so much more sense with those subtle nuances.
A lovely interpertation of this piece. He has more 'sweetness' and personality in his version than Li Jie, although hers does feel technically superior, especially where things get hectic.
I really like what he has done with the melody though with a few areas of subtly changed pacing and pausing, especially towards the end. Very nice
He is my Favourite guitarist ever since i heard him in the festivals in Greece, combining both technique, speed and most of all emotion.. i always love his music.. Too bad the Naxos festival is cancelled this year :(
Realmente impresionante.
His hands are very similar to Segovia's hands and in both cases they do magic! I have no words to comment on this wonderful musician who combines maximum speed with the best sound quality, and all the rest. BRAVO MAESTRO!
best classical guitarist thats ever lived and i play at a high level myself and i saw segovia.. bream.. williams and they cud not hold a candle to this genius!!!
People and their cacophony of opinions ... please be quiet and let me enjoy the music. It's a wonder you can hear anything amidst this competition of ideas!
also, Desiderio in my opinion butchers the harmonics section, starting at 1:58... Andrew Leonard is one of the few I've heard who plays it as written with a clear sense of triplets without rushing through
Best one I've ever heard. It is robitically accurate, but played with very unrobotic style, I think the build up of Leonard's is very good, though in this version the build up is more gradual and ultimately better, I think.
Ive just found the other 3 parts played by this performer.... simply amazing
Andrew Leonard's interpretation is the definitive one. Look it up. He doesn't rush through anything and builds expectation. Noone else plays with his patience and intention
yes, the beginning is slow and sounds like he's practicing it... you wonder what's going on, but when he then kicks into a higher gear, it sounds that much more effective... contrasts in music are very powerful
@nonexponential i know that was a year ago but on utube search li jie....chinese girl, plays a bunch of really tough songs including koyunbaba....you'll probably revise your statement about who's the best....ty
Just like Andres Segovia, his hands are not the type to play guitar, and yet look at them move....He is a truly gifted musician who has obviously worked really hard to get to the level he has reached..
I would like to listen to the whole piece played by Desiderio I own only an interpretation by Antigoni Goni and Aniello definetely kicks ass. He`s such a talent...
than go to sleep! i'am also like flamenco, i would say i really love flamenco, but this music is something!!! you should read the story of this piece...
