The mom needs to butt out of her daughters life and start living her own. If the guy is such a catch maybe the mom should marry him. The daughter is also lucky having the funds and support to move out and get her own place. When my mom divorced my dad she didn't have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of with two kids and herself to worry about how to support. She did right by divorcing when she realized it was over. I would do the same thing.
