I've been playing for--oh, it must be a little over four years now. I just recently tried my hand at the finger picking style. It's definitely different. I just don't know how he was able to do such a good tremolo with his finger while playing with the others. Amazing.

I once asked David about his tremolo and he showed me how he practiced his with all different combinations of fingers. He also used a four finger tremolo similar to the one flamenco guitarists use. He went backwards and forwards and all of them sounded the same with the same volume and evenness. He has one of the best tremolos in the business.

I agree! Maybe the best. He also recommends practicing with the "a" finger on the beat and the thumb as an up beat. This put the first note of the tune on the beat and encourages a lighter thumb. Feels weird at first but works.
