nice, those skis seemed like they floated you pretty well. im going there this february and was just wondering how they were? i got line prophet flites, im only 5'5 and 125lbs. they have a 90 waist so their dimensions are about the same
it's Hilltop Hoods, dude. this song was MADE for videos like this, if you ask me.
this looks like a sweet pow groove. nothing better than getting in it waist deep, it's like automatic speed control. fuckin magical. no snow at Copper! want to hit up Alta/Snowbird!!
why do you want dense pow? Alyeska gets sick dumps though its more of a wet snow they average so much snow every year who gives a fuck. Wasatch and chugach are where its at.
Pow Day Strategy: I usually go to Alta. Solitude is great but Alta takes priority... PowMt is also good
AltA: Take Collins, do traverse, drop down to bottom, rinse and repeat for 2h or so. No need to traverse up to Alf's if you are not in the very 1st. Everybody is running there. Better snow on Sunspot or W rustler (check shots in my other video). switch to wildcat only if cue is very bad.
Then move to Greeley once they open it, then Caste and end the day in Caterine
alright thanks, wat im looking for is powder, lots of free acres of skiing, treeskiing thats decent and a pretty big drop in feet, and if possible a decent park. im a park rat so thats why i was kinda leaning towards park city
hey i just got back from whitefish mountain and i thought it was great. i was looking at maybe alta, or park city, or maybe solitude for my next trip. wat would you recomend
It was most out of bound as it gets tracked pretty quickly. Actually there is a bit of Catherine Area all the way to the left, it involves some pushing, and a lot of traversing. Also, there is some Solitude, honeycomb canyon. A lot of traversing as well.
Bottom line, if you want the real powder... you need to do some work. If you go out of bound you have to get a guide or an experienced local.
i dont know who u are but man thats an awesome vid!!!!!!! very nice !!!! What camera type do you use? how is it stabelized and fixed on your helmet? pls answer!!!
Ok, it is not an helmet cam. It is basically a normal camcorder in a little backpack (hippack) put on front. One Strap torso level, another around your neck. Mountainsmith has a few that will do.
You just have to rip it and make a little hole. Make sure that you wrap the camcorder with plastic wrap, as if you fall the snow may get into it. Also, you need to use a wide angle lens. Best camcorders are the thin ones (cont.)
(cont..)To start, I would try to ebay an old canon elura 2 or something similarly shaped. If you are willing to risk go with a HDv model.
one more trick... you should not hard-fix the wide angle to the camera as if you fall it could bend/detach the ring on the camcorder. I use an adaptor and some elastic bands, ducktape may work as well.
also try to minimize swow/water on the lens, at it will condense (bring dry cloth...)
What a great time! I'm watching this in August, it's 102degrees, and it's very inspiring to think winter will be here before you know it. Got your pass yet?
very nice!! i am still working on perfecting my powder skiing cause my skis always get caught when i turn and i end up falling, i think its cause i gotta go faster
Do not try more speed. It is a matter of technique. Better take wider skis (deep powder skis) and learn to swing with your weight on both skis and stand "neutral" (means not too much backwards).
so sick. u shud do adifferent song tho

Or u don't have the right ski's, if u have a perfect race carver, dont go powder.. use some ski's with a bigger taille.
Dont go faster. Too dangerous for you I think. Control is the word.
