  • Great vid I thought that them vids where real to but they use slippery spheres or obeez which are little balls that you put in water then that expand and you can get clear ones that don't show in water

  • speck up ok!

  • lol looks like u making crack cocaine

  • @katana1426 The original video is a lie, pure and simple. The chemistry is nonsensical and the results faked.

The first and most noticeable proof of lie in the original video is the use of "some" as a unit of measure. Science is a science, and chemistry is rather exact.

  • u didnt do it right at all

  • it didnt work cause its a fake video

  • ermmm... baking powder is SODIUM bicarbonate.

  • @katana1426 it doesn't matter because CALLCIUM BICARBONATE POWDER IS NOT EVEN A THING.

  • Nice video! I thought it worked but after looking at this video and a couple of sites, I found out that it doesn't work! Thanks!

  • OMG U GOT FLUFF! YUMMY! @ 3:23

  • There's no logical reason, what so ever they would all turn into spheres without sticking to each other. Gravity would easily prevent that. It's a new trend to make hoaxes. The last one I laughed at was one to make cheap glow in the dark materials out of some of the common ingredients you used. Notice, they almost always use stupid things usually found in your home even those this had a twist. Also they put very encouraging music behind it. At least you learned about hoaxes, lol.

  • u did it worng

  • I like your video =)

    thank you for posting

  • people are being unnecessarily hard on you dude, i like the fact that you didn't just ASSUME that it was a hoax, you went out you're way to make sure IT WAS a hoax fist before saying it, unless your a proper scientist, then how else would anyone know that it doesn't work.

so not only do most people just ASSUME that it's a hoax, they then go and diss you for actualy PROVING it.

  • The true reason this didn't work is because the video experiments you watched are hoaxes. They just mix up chemicals and then place marbles that have an index of refraction of 1.333 into water (they're still solid marbles in the water. They just refract light the same amount as water.) if you take a physics class you will learn about this.

  • THE WHOLE THING IS A HOAX

  • you REALLY needed that extra credit you know nothing about sceience

  • OK, so now I 'm going to have to try it.

a.) you didn't have all of the ingredients

b.) you didn't follow the directions

so, this tells you nothing about your "hypothesis"

  • yo did it soooooo wroung all the ingredients where right but i think yo uwhere missing water and iodized salt

  • Chemistry lessons with Ashton Kutcher.

    (couldn't help myself)

  • Jelly Marbles - Clear Spheres copy paste that search on youtube first result

  • you added a bunch of the wrong stuff. its only baking soda, vinegar, and iodized salt. boil and freeze. its not that hard.

  • You did something wrong dude i was looking around on google? some chemical if it gets mixed in with the others it makes a gel like substance like the one on your fingers, try again just watch the video again, the real one is from that video in this video 0_0 the one with that container, im going to try it tommarow

  • it's fake. it really is. theres no such term as polar hability, to get calcium bicarbonate in a solid form is incredibly difficult as it does not refer to any sort of solid state

  • same thing happened to me ..... its fake

  • this didnt work because you have to mix the vinegar and baking soda together when its not boiling, then stick it in the freezer for 10 minutes, then add the calcium bicarbinate to the mixuture, after that add a half cup of iodized salt into the concoction. then boil for 7 minutes while stirring constantly, let it stand for 15 minutes and then your set. try this. it works. (*get it. got it. get over it.*)

  • Jeffrey if u go to the water marbles man

they admit its fake, in the end i asked him through email and they told me word for word that its fake so bother with this calcium carbonate shit, i tried it 4 times i ended up with clear water each time and nothing happened and yes i let it stood so don't bother with the instructions because it doesn't work the one who originally posted it told me by e-mail it was fake and that he just used lots of super absorbant beed so please don't bother

  • ive seen it before, in real life its it just like the water ball goes back to water after its in the cup.

  • Tell me how uve seen it and if ure so sure please post a videon of you doing it,

im not being rude im just sad that i spent 3 freiking hours with 2 epic fail results and by the way

Where do i get calcium bi-carbonate tell me a supermarket producti know its an aquas solution and i know can't be solid and i know must be part of something just tell me the exact products and ill try this again

  • Didnt work. >=/

  • of course you done something wrong you added baking powder instead of calcium bicarbonate

  • its just calcium carbonate, calcium bicarbonate doesnt exist as a solid.

  • By the way- baking powder=calcium biocarb calcium biocarb dosn't come out by itself it has to be part of a mixture to exist and it cann't be found in a solid form

  • @klayman2 and @mathewsgame

You two are the dumbest shits ive ever come across.

  • @wezno3 have you been to the 6th grade science dipshit? baking soda= Calcium bicarbonate dumbass

  • Sodium bicarbonate, idiot

  • that's calcium CARBONATE and not Bicabonate, 'dumbass'

  • Tums are tablets that you take for like stomach problems; you can get them at a grocery store, probably.

  • You can get it in Tums (and just grind it up)

  • Baking Soda is Sodium Bicarbonate. You also need Calcium Bicarbonate to complete the procedure.

  • you suck, dude

  • You look like a emo ass Micheal jackson

  • you did the procedure wrong.

  • if you know how to do it can u plzz tell me thanx.

  • where do you get calcium bicarebonate and can you use rice vinager and table salt?

  • i no how to do that its like a jelly like marbel that is almost invisible wen in water

  • it called polimer

  • Fail!!! It's called polYmer.

  • you fail at computers and internetz cameras

  • you dont boil the vinigar you mix the baking soda and vinigar then put it in the freezer for ten minutes then boil and ad iodized salt and wait fifteen minutes

  • Comment removed

  • well that was a waste of my life

  • think about the time I wasted making this.

at least you had the option of watching it.

    fail.

  • fair enough mate......10/10 for effort

    =]

  • You have a point. I'm pretty sure baking powder is not calcium bicarbonate. Perhaps that's where you went wrong.

  • Exactly

  • Alka-seltzer? That might work?

  • how fuckin quiet are you ?

  • dude u guys need to stop doggin all the frekin videos let it b stop being asses

  • where do you buy it please tell me

  • U didn't put in iodized salt. -.-'

  • Baking SODA would be Sodium Bicarbonate

  • no..no its not

  • You do not need soduim bicarbonate you need calcuim bicarbonate..

  • that vid he shows in the vid is fake i looked it up and there was not a vid called that

  • Yes there is. You're an idiot. You obviously didn't look very hard because this video is a response to a water ball video.

  • dumb ass

  • I found these things and i wanted to make some lol

  • YOU FORGOT IODIZED SALT just saying :D

  • Who are you and why aren't we best friends?

    :D

  • you forgot Iodized salt.

  • ok i didnt notice some one below me said same thing XD cus i just boughet some of the jelly marbles and started posting my other comment on the other vids sry XD but yah hes right to

  • ok... the vid u saw was 100% fake their called well a lot of things but their little balls that absorbe water and if u want some go to stevespanglerscience and watch the jelly marble vid dont belive any of the vids u see and post this every where those vids are i hate liars with these vids it runins you pans and what not

  • lol calcium bicarbonate and baking powder aren't the same thing... haha theres your problem. =] nice try though. its easier to make hot ice. get sodium acetate and boil with water.

  • I commented 6 months ago, saying I'll gather info. The bicarbonate does indeed NOT Exist in Solid form like the video you saw. And in the video "Ionized salt?" hmm. "Polar Hability?" HMM. its a hoax.

I assume most likely that he used imbibition balls, which have the same refraction index as water, so you can't see it in water.

You can buy these "Jelly Marbles". I purchased some and it looks pretty much like the balls in video.

Google "steve spangler science" if you want to buy some from them.

  • Hey! It doesn't work coz Baking Powder has Rice Flour in it, hence the flour thickens and turns to crap. Hope this helps.

  • i tried too but it did not work

  • Yeah...When boiling the whole thing turned solid!

  • you can get calcium bicarbonate at aquatic stores

and calcium bicarbonate is a liquid

  • you done it wrong!! :D

  • PROcedure

  • hey nice try and its cool that you came out with something kinda cool and maybe even usefull but that video you were showing that you used is a fake sorry, im not saying it cant be done but those are just water marbles in that particular video

  • this isnt hoax tho it was on television explaining ow it was done it cant be fake

  • you're right if it's on t.v. it's real :P

  • +1 for you!

  • and its minus 1 for you! lawl

  • Redryno1221 is correct, Calcium Bicarbonate is not found as a solid, it is an unstable compound. Instead we can create a substitute that mimics the elements that Calcium Bicarbonate yeilds by mixing some basic ingredients. Calcium Bicarbonate = Ca(HCO3)2

By mixing the ingredients -baking soda, -calcium supplement pills, and -soda water. The baking soda will give you the bicarbonate, the pills will give you your calcium, and the soda water gives you your hydrogen and carbon.

  • Yeah I tried this also, but I didn't use tums... I'll try that tomorrow though. :| Thanks @ nalekka and Redryno1221.

  • where do u get calcium carbonate?

  • so can you replace calcium bicarbonate with crushed up tums or somethin?

  • lol thats what i was thinking... haha im lmao now

  • @ sw2k411

delete this vid man it is such a waste of time.....especially since you don't know what ur talking about

    @nalekka

THANK GOD some one knows that calcium bicarbonate is only found as a liquid!!!

    @seksmee

if you find calcium bicarbonate as a solid then hell will freeze over and pigs will fly.........calcium carbonate is a solid but it won't form calcium bicarbonate unless it is added to a solution with a hydrogen atom.....say like water...........

  • This video is not up for educational or scientific value but moreover for random people to obsess over it and for me to laugh at all the messages posted. :D

  • @sw2k411 messing with peoples heads high five + fist bump?

  • hahahaha you totally did that wrong

  • did wat rang

  • haha ;P

  • calcium carbonate is what you need and you will find it as the main ingrediant in tums it will become calcium bicarbonate when you add it to the liquid

  • Comment removed

  • no there is no calcium bicarbonate in baking soda, thats just sodium bicarbonate. and it is possible to find calcium bicarbonate in the solid form, its just mostly found in the liquide form.

  • Technically its VINAGER marbles....

  • you didnt use calcium bicarbonate HA. you just used baking soda LOL.

  • Calcium Bicarbonate IS baking soda.

  • no baking soda has SOME calcium Bicarbonate, pure calcium bicarbonate is needed for this experiment to work.

  • calcium bicarbonate is a solution of calcium carbonate dissolved in water. and calcium carbonate is chalk. so stfu

  • baking soda is SODIUM bicarbonate

  • so? i didnt say anything abotu sodium bicarbonate

  • and extra points for strictly observing the scientific method.

  • I don't know why every one of these videos says that you need "calcium bicarbonate." Sodium bicarbonate is baking soda, but calcium bicarbonate doesn't exist as a white powder. For all intents and purposes, calcium carbonate is essentially limestone, but the "bicarbonate" only exists in solution, i.e., after being added to water. I haven't tried this experiment, but if you're going to do it, you need calcium carbonate, without the "bi".

  • Oh and 5 stars for not having faked it.

  • where do you get calcium bicarbonate

  • walmart. :)

  • it does work if you do it correctly. Keep trying! I am making pink ones. I think you have to buy them and make them grow from pebbles to marbles in water.

  • dude you have to mix vinegar and baking soda, then put it in the refrigerator 4 10 min, then add calcium bicarbonate, then boil it for 5 min, then let it sit 4 15 min, then your all done

  • that experiment you saw was fake all it was is water that has marbles in it the marbles just have the same index of refraction as water so they let the same amount of light through as water does and because of that you cant see them in the water until they come close to the surface or are taken out

  • You're stupid.

  • I think the guy who posted this video agrees it is fake because he taged the video with "hoax".

  • what has sodium bicarbonate in it?

  • Next time, ask your chemistry teacher for calcium bicarbonate...

Iteresting goo by the way... How does it smell? Does you get high? xD just kidding xD

I'm gonna try this experiment as soon as i get the correct ingredients, I've asked some persons about those imbitation balls and they all said that it could be possible, but for how long does the balls last if you put one on a table?

  • Calcium bicarbonate doesn't even exist as a solid!

  • yes it does, but that's a result of the reaction with sodium acetate

  • Calcium bicarbonate is the result of a very unstable product (I'd call it an intermediate). Intermediates are formed in between stages of a reaction. The experiment goes to completion and immediately decomposes the aqueous calcium bicarbonate (note it is not in the solid state but ions suspended in water) into the solid calcium CARBONATE which is just simply chalk.

Very nice experiment but I don't think it works.

  • Exactly, it does not work!

  • No it does not.

If it indeed does, can you give me the chemical equation for that so-called reaction?

  • By the way, when I said "it does not", I was replying to leofera, not LucienL.

  • Since it seems like you're trolling multiple videos that talk about this procedure, why don't you just make a video disproving everyone? Problem solved. If you can do that, I'd certainly believe your claims that it's not real.

  • Baking powder isnt the same thing as calcium bicarbonate!!

  • Well at least you tried i was curios Myself thx

  • LMAO hahaha nice try i was hopin it would work so i could do it for my sience assignment

  • it wouldn't work if u use different stuff don't use the other baking soda

  • So I found this "Marble Video" and have been trying to determine if it is real or not... I have been debating if I should do the thing.

Alright I see you have tried it... um I don't think calcium bicarbonate is the same as baking powder.

I will prolly try this. I dunno if its the calcium bicarbonate ion that does the reaction or not.. if so I might just grind tums for it.. since I don't think the CB comes in a solid. (So whatever was in the water marbles video was not CB)... Idk ill try tums...

  • cool! i hope more people try this-- as it is my hypothesis that there are gelatin marbles with the same refractive index as water--- and it is just a hoax/illusion--- i want to see people strain the liquid through a fine strainer into an empty container-- looks like a fun experiment i'll just have to try sometime though.

  • lol, nice try though.

  • lmao thanks!
