Humans did not create Jets, biplanes, blimps etc just because it's nice to have different aircraft. Even Einstein agrees that religious philosophy was a very powerful motivation to do science. Oh god that plane analogy. It does not even compute with the "same creator". If we take god he created all animals on the same day. Humans did not create Jets, biplanes, blimps etc just because it's nice to have different aircraft. It supports evolution through natural selection completely as old components were replaced by new more advanced and complicated components and we can draw a map more similar to evolution than just randomly popping up plane types.

@scrap222666 Agreed. Planes started out with wood, sheet, and engines and could only fly at a maximum of roughly 70mph. Nowadays, thanks to the development of jets and the swept-back wing design, we have planes that can move tons upon tons of payload halfway across the world at 85% of the speed of sound.

@lordnimr0d Creation is not a rival to science in any way. It's philosophy was a direct and explicit founder of modern science and many of its principles. Even Einstein agrees that religious philosophy was a very powerful motivation to do science. Without creationists you wouldn't have modern science, just like without Darwin you wouldn't have much if not all of modern concepts of evolution &just like without Socrates you wouldn't have the Socratic method. The pioneers are absolutely crucial.

Even if we're going to compare a bi-plane and a 747, a 747 couldn't exist if we didn't have the bi-plane to begin with... even plane design evolves! Same goes for their pocket watch argument... we started with sundials, etc.
The thing that's so infuriating about that is that it makes it seem like they think people just came up with the modern ideas for technology, medicine, and other sciences without the vast sea of information we have collected as a species in spite of all religion.

Religion has no place in science, even the scientists who are theists know better than to mix the two. Now if creationists were able to back up their beliefs with empirical evidence, experimentation and the review of peers (Scientists not the religious nuts) then maybe there could be a choice. Does Ray switch how he refers to the Orangutang several times? the worst thing about the use of orangutan in this video or any other is the fact that they are abused by trainers, separated from their mothers and clan as well as having a short showbiz career due to their quick growth and unmanagibility after a certain age, i know its not the point of the vid in any way, however primates used in showbiz often end up in dire circumstances after if they cannot be retired to suitable zoos. i can only hope the same is true for kirk.
