  • OMG!!! not good. some ppl have no common sense. I'm glad I was not part of that group...

  • Some people have no respect, they don't even think about the thouands and thousands that have died keeping this ciuntry a safe place, beat your, if I would have benn standing next to that person, there wouldn't have been any mre outbursts because they would have been out cold on th ground. Assholes, didn't your mother and father teach you better.

  • ....AND DON'T FUCKING ARGUE, SIR!

  • Well done, Soldier.

  • ....or I will beat your ass!

  • @djmmcee I am an active duty Soldier, and have been for 17 years. My factually accurate comment does not discount the guard's actions, but responds in an explanatory manner to other comments which seemed to imply the guard himself formulated the verbiage or made the decision to speak. (read through the comments) As you pointed out, he properly followed his SOP, which is his job - and he did it well.

  • Looks like one of the idiots that were making noises chimed in

  • That's what I am talking about. Good job.

  • Who r they guarding?

  • @neoncat9 - Jesus

  • That Solider is not an Officer, please correct your video's title.

  • Keep in mind, not all rude people are Americans.

  • Ouuuu RAh! Not a word to be said! MOST RESPECT!

  • @jacobreinvented You're probably correct in that he said what was commanded/rehearsed/whatever, but these guys are chosen because they do things the right way. It would be very easy to just let it go and ignore it, but he didn't. That is why he is there, getting it right and protecting the sanctity.

  • Great job Soldier! Extremely proud of you.

  • God I hate rude ass people !

  • Nice.

  • It is sad when Americans can't have the proper respect for the dead, especially those who have fallen so we can be on the internet, say what we want, go where we want, worship as we want. God bless all those past, present, future in the service. and God bless this guard of our nations' honor.

  • i respect this soldier. i was at the changing of the gaurds ceremony once. it was the most beautiful thing in the world. ppl need to have respect for those who fought and died for our freedom. and god bless those who are still fighting. let them come home safe. both my parents served and i am glad that i still have them. some ppl arent that lucky. we should be proud that we have men and wemon out there fighting so we can still have our freedoms. GOD BLESS THE TROOPS!!!

  • Sometimes I am so embarrassed to be an American.

    Freedom without responsibility is anarchy.

  • Hooah!!

  • And after he asked for silence, someone's phone went off... I'd think the respectful thing to do is silence your phone before going to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

  • God Bless him .... people should realized what we have in this country and not take it for granted!!!

  • God love and bless this fine young man!

  • This soldier handled the situation perfectly but what on earth is wrong with people today?

  • Hooah.

  • I doubt I would have been able to maintain such a level of respect for the ignorant in the crowd. Hoorah soldier

  • I was there years ago and watched the changing of the guard, very moving! Those who were laughing should be shamed of themselves, it's not freaking Disneyland. Btw, my father was in Korea and my uncle was a staff sergeant in Vietnam, My hat is off to this soldier for not allowing such a disrespectful display.r

  • Any one who is this disrespectful ought to be ashamed of them selves! Hurray for that soldier , that told them ploitley to shut up!

  • There are posted signs before the steps that ask for Respectful Silence. There is no way not to see them. Praise this Soldier.

  • Awesome that this soldier helped remind people that the United States Military is always on duty and many have died for our freedom.

Semper Fi - United States Marine Vet

  • Thank the GOOD LORD we still have people in this country that demand respect for those who gave their lives for our freedom. God bless our military! Semper fi!!

  • Amen Amen God Bless you my Fellow American I am proud and thankful to you. laughing is rude and if someone can not handle the stress then they need to remove themselves

  • So proud of our men and women who serve, have served, and have given all to protect our freedoms. I thank God for all of you!!! Excellent job done here!! The people laughing should have been thrown out of there.

  • I'm glad there is a procedure to handle such disrespect!

  • Proud of this soldier!!!

  • So very proud of this Soldier! The requirements to be a guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns is incredibly stringent and lasts a lifetime even though the tour is only 2 years long. I am extremely proud this Soldier did the right thing to maintain the level of respect and dignity due our amazing heroes inside the hallowed grounds of Arlington

  • @ArmyWife8507 Well said.

  • Well, he's actually a Soldier, as opposed to a Marine (In Dress Blues but what I am given to understand will become the Class A uniform to replace the Green...) but a Marine would have done the same... and maybe more.

Like a horizontal butt stroke. And they'd have had it coming.

  • Well done Marine!

  • @JustmeNancyful not a marine

  • @niichthe3rd You are correct. I am loosing vision and it looks like this soldier is wearing dress blues. My mistake. Correction: Well done Soldier! And thank-you for bringing it to my attention.

  • Our local elementary school has a yearly trip to the DC area for all 6th graders. When I went as a chaperone we were told ahead of time that absolute quiet is required. I am thankful that the soldier on duty has the right to speak up.

  • Great Job, some people don't have a clue about respect, what it takes to be a brother or sister that has served in this GREAT Military. The training that these Marines go through to do this job is unbelievable, some may think that's it's just walking back and forth. Wish he could of taken the butt of his rifle and knocked some since into them

  • @bonz757 my own mistake here its the Army that stands the watch.

  • Made me proud! :)

  • Good JOB!!!!!

  • if anyone dislikes this i hope they get shot

  • to bad he couldnt do a "single shot salute" in lack of better terms.. how dare they

  • It's ridiculous that people go to places like Arlington with other things on their minds, such as humor. Seriously folks, leave the world outside the gates when you visit the fallen proud. They left the world behind for you! It's the least you could do.

  • @atmrmclore Not saying this particular case was justified, but sometimes humor is a coping mechanism. Either way, thankful we've got some straight minded servicemen protecting us.

  • Freaking civilians.

  • @Army31Bravo i know right?

  • Good job soldier! I don't understand how you can be loud at such a place where respect is required. Thank you all for serving our country!

  • @ciphersniper your welcome :)

  • Been many times...my thanks to ALL who have served!

  • I say "HELL YEAH!" Good for him to set people straight.

  • Awesome

  • I have had the honor of being there in person. It is a very aw inspiring experience. When I was there, you couldn't even hear footsteps as people were coming and going.

  • my dad is proud of this...

  • @dickhodgin you should be too.

  • YES!

  • Oh my gracious! That just brought tears to my eyes! Very well done, young man; very well done!

  • Some things shouldn't have to be said. Well done sir!

  • Arlington National Cemetery is not an amusement park. This Solider know how to stand a good watch.
