I'd rather have a animal than any human! People can carry diseases too...so should we put them down too? Raccoons are to me a million times cuter than any humans!
I know a wildlife rehabilitation specialist was not available to him, but if there is in your state call them. That's the only humane thing to do. If your not careful and don't know what your doing, you'll kill the babies/kitts unintentionally(dehydration very common and they have to be warmed up to try to nurse back to health or you will drown them). This guy seemed to know what he was doing and definitely had his hands full. Glad to see people still actually care out there, just be careful.
It's funny how ever body thinks they are cute till they rip the shingles from their roof and chew through the wood to make a nest in your attic. They carry rabies and if so much as they lick an open cut on you they would have to be destroyed and tested for rabies. Not to mention the painful rabies shots to the stomach. They carry parasites released in their fecal dangerous enough to kill a human even if inhaled from a dried out form. Insurance won't cover it and it's considered toxic waste.
They're not as cute when you have to clean up the mess from their party in excess of $8k out of pocket(I don't care what kind of insurance you have, IT'S NOT COVERED). I can buy a lot of things more adorable then raccoons for 8k though. Them being cute is about the only thing that saved their lives though.
They are so adorable, I love raccoons because they seem so intelligent. I've been feeding an orphan raccoon for two years now, she stays on my property but comes out at night. If I don't give her enough food she'll open my screen door on the back porch. I thought about doing something like a rescue for orphaned raccons, but I have no clue how you would do it
@mrsmusic213 They were all released back into the wild. Most of these guys had to be bottle fed when they were rescued and some didn't even have their eyes open yet.
@Breehippy4 do you want to rescue wildlife or keep one as a pet? Some states you cant keep raccoons as pet, like Colorado. These raccoons were released back into the wild.
@Breehippy4 You can find a wildlife rescue in your area and volunteer for them. That's how you start working with animals usually. Chances are you wont have direct contact with the wildlife at first. But once you prove you are responsible and wont do anything to risk the life of an animal or wont put yourself in danger, they will let you have contact with the animals.
Such cute babys i really love da one with the pretty mask , i havea wee firl right now she`s comming up on nine mth will be released in da spring with her 10 other siblings but she has da same pretty and full mask as dat one of yours
@Wolfbane8 I volunteer for 3-4 State and Federally licensed organizations that rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned wildlife in Colorado. I was in there cleaning the cages and feeding/watering them. If you check out some of my other videos, you can see how some of them were rescued and a bunch of other animal rescue videos. To answer your question, yes you do need permission from your state to care for these animals. Thanks for watching!!
@Wolfbane8 i saved one as a baby the only one i asked permission was the baby raccoon , he turned out to be a sweet raccoon before he ran off at 9 months old,,
