I do Irish Dance and i got on hard shoes in my first year. and my wig, costume and first dance dress in two years. sadly i took a break and now go to a different school were we dont get solo dresses!!! :( Anyways, she is really good and i encourage her to keep going!
I got hard shoe 2 months after i started. Im a quick learner and learned a new dance every class and when the rest of my class started learning the hornpipe she through me in with them. i have only been dancing since august and at the Novice level and been to 3 feis. anyone have tips for me? when i competed in my last feis i had 3 dances in the novice level there where like 20 people and i was a bit scared...
What I did on my FIRST feis was i didnt even think about who else was competing. All I thought of was the steps i really needed to work on and keeping my feet turned out and having a very big smile. Presentation is the key to your performance. I didnt even think of what the judges were going to say. All I thought was "I am going to do the best that I can and If they dont like it....well who cares"
NO I IRISH DANCE AND I AM 9 AND I AM ON MY TOES its not that bad but after 5 hours of practice I AM POOED man its easy at first then its hard when you get to hard shoes i just got my first wig i love it!
No Its U12 && Older!! Well Commission Anyway!! Thats The Organisation Layla's In!! && That Rule Only Came In 2 Years Ago!!..Before This Video Was Takin!!
Its not good for youger dancers to get on their toes because their bones arn't fully mature yet. Usually the "legal" age is 12-13 (like in ballet). She's really good though.

I thought the rule was that anyone U12 or under is not allowed to do toe stands.. But maybe I'm mistaken.
