so if theres major turbulence and the fasten seat belt light turns on. does that mean u have to go through the whole process of putting the bed back together to make seats?...yeah fuck that lol
@MrUSMC4lif No you have a choice. The flight attendants on our flight asked us if we would like them to have our seat repositioned otherwise they just made sure we had our seatbelt on while lying down.
@MrUSMC4lif I've seen a few pics of people who blog & fly...most of the ones using the suites here (and on Emirates and Jet) still use the seatbelts while laying down...looks weird, but I guess it's safer.
I think it would be better to have a seat that goes into a bed,
Say you want to sit up and watch some TV. You have to call one of them to go through that long winded process again - and the same again when you fancy a sleep. If they are going to do it this way then they should make it bigger (and charge more) so that their is enough room for both the bed and the chair
At least its a real bed unlike other airlines. Usually the bed gets turned down when the passenger is in the bathroom changing into their sleepware. Its all part of the pampering process, something that SIA knows really well, which is why they are the worlds most awarded airline
If someone has that bed suite thing, how do they sit? Do they lay down the whole time, or do they have to wait for all of that whenever they want to sleep?
I wonder if any couples have been caught having sex in a double first class bed yet I wonder lol or caught any gay sex ether I it would be a talk of a airline for a while if passengers did though I bet lol
This is just great and for those envious, jealous people who say it is too much work, bla, bla, bla, if I am paying a lot for this, I would let them WORK, meanwhile I can go to the bar and have some martinis.
wait so any of the first class seats can be turned into a bed but you have to request it during the flight??? that looks great by the way i want to travel on the a380 one day....emirates, qantas, or singapore and now lufthansa or Air France
So we can call the flight attendant to convert the seat into a bed? Good Service! Can we request them to to service us when we need sex? It would be great to do dodgy style in the private suite.
@SQSHIT You must have liked another airline or something. If you think SQ sucks, stop posting it everywhere and think that you must be the judge of everything. Besides, get a life than saying a lot of negative things, even your username is a negative comment. Like as if you are the world's best architect.
Yes also if the Suite is basically a room, if the plane makes an emergency and for some reason the door to your Private room does not open, how in the hell do you get out? You cant climb out through the window let alone break it. Its a plane not a hotel buddy. You want privacy then take a ship
Singapore Airlines excels in what it does. Its standards remain one of the highest and most exacting in the industry and it is emulated, feared and despised probably in equal measure by its many competitors. Coming up trumps has become something of a habit for the airline, and little wonder. I can imagine that for many traveling executives where flying is more work hazard than genuine pleasure, booking a Singapore Airlines flight means at very least - knowing what to expect.
First you have to understand that it is a commercial airliner, not a private jet. Second you have to consider safety. If the cabin is to enclose and too private, it can cause safety issues. Against FAA regulations for an Airline to have privately enclosed cabins for their passengers.
@sfotpe The cabin doors and "windows" must be open during takeoff, landing, and taxi to insure that no safety issues arise. Seat-belts were also designed so they can be worn during sleep without interference. I highly doubt that the FAA would allow an airliner as popular as Singapore Airlines to endanger their clients.
Just for clarification, were you travelling with a companion in two of the middle suites? As in, does the wall between the middle suites come down if you are travelling together?
Yes, my companion and I had seats 3C and 3D, but the seats 2C and 2D were empty so that's where they made the double bed. There is no "wall" separating adjacent middle suites. There is a separator that you can lower from above. And as you can see, they also lowered the lower separator. (around seconds 52 to 59)
@456661 most who travell first class do so on their employers expense...there are many hard working millionaires and even billionaires who travell economy class.
@trodmi do you think that all who can afford first class travel first class?..the late Pao a hongkong shipping tycoon used to buy three seats in economy so he could sleep..no first class for him..people who are likely to travel in class usually do so on their employers expense. When the B747 where introduced in 1970,TWA had 2 first class lounges onboard, they soon gave way for more seats.
@am1966ath I sometimes travel from Munich to Singapore and Manila for business in economy. Do you think it's easy to be crammed in economy seat for 13hrs? If I was a millionaire, do you think I would still use the economy seats for long hauls?
