I feel so bad for the children. It wasn't really their fault, I mean they didn't fully understand what was happening. Maybe the older ones did but I'm sure the youngest didn't. They may have known their nation was suffering but they were too young to truly understand the role their family had in Russia's issues, I think. And poor Alexei had hemophilia and while his parents were concerned about him, they didn't pay attention to Russia. I don't think they had to die.

@Serrano2012 The youngest was not only two, Alexey was 13, he was the youngest, Anastasia, the youngest girl, was 17 if I remember correctly. Yes they were innocent, but they were direct descendants to the Romanov dynasty, this made them a threat.
