I really liked this amv! You know...To Yukari, George was that first love, the first time, and he'll always be special to her. She loved him more than she knew. But George, though he cared for her, is too much into himself, and not reliable in a relationship. That's why, though the ending is bittersweet, it shows Yukari, that a first love is not the best love, and I'm glad she ended up with that other boy (forgot his name lol.) It's a coming of age story with all the love and tragedy involved.

@missmuggledetector I like this comment a lot! I watched the anime years ago, but wasnt sold on the ending. But you're right, despite how much they cared for each other, he wasnt what was best for her. (He was kind of an entitled dick LOL.) But yeah, this actually makes me like the series and the ending much more. Because like you said, he will always be very special to her, but the story was more about her growing up.

I loved this anime. it was beautiful, and it reminded me very much of my first love, passionate with a lot of crying. But in the end they really loved eachother.

While I was watching the anime, I felt sort of lonely for Caroline, because it always seemed like she was chasing after George and she loved him more than he loved her (I'm not sure that was the case, but it seemed that way quite often). That's why, even though the ending was bittersweet, I loved that George opened Caroline's eyes to independence, and that ultimately she chose her dreams even over her lover. Very touching story; definitely one of my favorites.

@19chubbyisoo91 I agree. I think that George actually cared about her quite a lot, but he liked the person he was molding her into much more than the person she was when they met. I always thought that if she wasn't engaged at the end of the series and they reunited, they would be able to make it work.

@19chubbyisoo91 I don't think she loved him more than he did her.I think he was too troubled and unstable himself to make her happy,and he knew that,so he teached her to be indipendable.And he also left her all of his dresses which is a strong statment of deep affection when you take in mind how much his art means to him.
