Einstein was clever because 1) Was German raised, 2) Studied geometry at early age, which helps imagining and solving puzzles. and 3) He was curious about things, he didn't just want to get a routine job and make a living, he wanted to change things.

@mastermary2 dude, his IQ was around 185.. the smartest man recorded is between 190-210 (Chris Langan). not far off from 185. plus the average is an IQ of 100 so i doubt "he wasnt THAT smart" if he scored 85 over the average human IQ. but you do raise a good point. he did think a lot. thinking a lot involves a good amount of curiosity. he even said himself, "I have no special talents. i am only passionately curious." -so i guess all it takes to be smart is to just drive your mind with curiosity

There are MANY factors that effect your brain. Of coarse you have to consider what effects your brain the most. Some changes are less significant.
I would say the bond between our brain and muscle tissue is one that is more significant, as is brain chemical creation and secretion (effected by nutrition and drugs - both good and bad), as well as passion - passion for learning, passion for wanting to help, whatever that passion may be in your chosen aspect or aspects.
i also have this strong believe that its all in your state of mind..i have this ability where i command my mind to be in this " place"..
its not a form of meditation though..i just command my feelings and thoughts to be in state where i can see thing clearer and be at my most optimize and confident self..thru this..i learned to pick almost everyting..painting, sports, mastering musical instruments and speaking 4 different languages and many more..
