  • It seems to me that living on a lower-carb diet (less than 150 grams/day) would be useful to prevent gestational diabetes.

  • @Tamar1973 actually, that would not prevent it as i stayed on a low carb diet after the birth of my second son. I have had GD for the past two times i was pregnant. I am now pregnant with the third and have acquired this same condition again, even though i was on the orignal low carb healthy diet. there is actually little one can do to prevent it, especially if you have a family history of it (which I do.).
