  • my middle school band teacher would have yelled at Dizzy b/c when he plays he puffs put his cheeks which u aren't supposed to do

  • Waldorf? Astoria? Both hotels. . . . BWAHAGAGAA!

  • So is Waldorf's wife also Statler's sister or something?

  • @NYG4LIFE123 That was the rumor that's been floating around for a while, but no offical sources have suggest they're related. Long time writing for various Muppet productions Jim Lewis when asked about Astoria said quote:

Astoria was married to Waldorf some time ago. We were unable to reach Astoria for more details, and Waldorf cannot remember anything past last Tuesday, for which he is eternally grateful.

  • What's that instrument 0:01-0:15 while Dizzy's playing with that puppet?

  • "Gobble gobble."

  • His cheeks scare me. Was he born like that?

  • Scooter: Uh, Diz? Kermit does have one rule around here... No puppets allowed.

    WTF? Screwy, ain't?

  • apparently there is a reason why Dizzy's trumpet is bent....According to Gillespie's autobiography, this was originally the result of accidental damage caused by someone sitting on it during a job on January 6, 1953, but the constriction caused by the bending altered the tone of the instrument, and Gillespie liked the effect.

  • Wouldn't it have been wonderful if Ella Fitzgerald, or, if he was still alive at the time, Louis Armstrong, were on the show? :)

  • @fivebearrugs YESH

  • I played the trumpet when I was in high school.

  • (Floyd) (Zoot)

  • Floyd Pepper and Zoot

  • Brilliant. Thank you so much for uploading this! Look forward to the rest of the season :D

  • Astoria is hilarous

  • There's a lot of speculation as to who performed Astoria. People used to think it was Steve Whitmire, but Steve himself can't remember. XD

  • The one thing I remember about Dizzy are those cheeks...especially when he did it on "The Cosby Show". :D

  • To all the guest Stars that have passed on in their memory.

  • @BayareaGuy06

oh..i was just wndering because i think its very thoughtful to remember smeone for their great accomplishments and talent.

  • @RedaFox1 Oh yes I appreciate the great old time entertainers and I'm only 22. I wish I had those kind of entertainers today.

  • RIP Jazz Trumpet Player, Band leader, Singer, and Composer Dizzy Gillespie 1917-1993.

  • @BayareaGuy06

i hope I not rude when i ask this, but do you post this RIP to every muppet episode?

  • W: ... Poor Statler. He couldn't take it anymore.

I always had my suspicion that Astoria and Statler are twins, making the 2 hecklers brothers-in-law. Don't you agree?

  • @DarthWill3 You don't have to make a Statler and/or Waldorf comment every single time. It's annoying. Just enjoy the show.

  • @lostviewer I can't help it!

  • @DarthWill3 Yeah I'm pretty sure you can... I love Scooter's openings but you don't see me commenting on them all the time. Enjoy it for what it is; when people see someone leaving quotes or comments constantly then what you're enjoying loses its zest. It's cool to leave a comment every now and then but moderation is important.

  • @lostviewer Moderation, eh?

  • @DarthWill3

    Moderation is for hippies!

    no offense to the hippies.....

  • @RedaFox1 None taken.

  • whoa..Astoria looks so much like statler...weird

  • @RedaFox1 That's because they're TWINS!

  • @RedaFox1 Sure that was intentional. X)
