  • Fuudo's Ryu is fantastic. Awesome fight. Way to bait out of Abel Ultra. Ryu is the Best!!!!

  • vanilla...i miss it so much

  • so who is this fuudo guy? :/

  • @go555ace

He just won EVO2011. The biggest fighting game tournament in the world.

  • @simplelife88393 ahh i see. so he must be real good

  • @go555ace Fuudo is more often associated as a Virtua Fighter all star (with his main LIon Rafale), but is also making his name as he is starting to win in these SF tournaments too. He is just a damn good player in fighting games in general, making the point that this and VF take totally different mindsets to play (not to start any SF vs. VF controversy, 'cause they are both great in their respective ways)

  • @vf4efan ok thx. Yeah 2d and 3d fighters are different and each game has its own systems so fuudo must be real skilled to be able to do well for both type of fighting games

  • @IDaChosenUno

Huh? "Early focus attack?" Useless advice, no decent Ryu is going to let themselves get hit by a random focus when tatsu, f.hp, and reversal shoryuken all break armor. Level 1 FA puts you at a disadvantage, so that's out of the question. Free shoryuken for Ryu.

EX Wheel Kick does not put Abel at any advantage, and doesn't start up very fast. Usable, but definitely not the primary way of getting in.

  • 1st Round: That Abel sucks; he can only grab.

2nd Round: Near end....HOLY SHIT OMFG WTF that ABLE RAPED.

3rd Round: Back to he sucks.

  • I agree with GamesPlayer1. It took me just an hour to get the hang of Ryu, but mastering him takes a tremendous amount of time. Ryu is a high tier character with good properties and amazing tactics. His moves changed in SSF2 Turbo. Here is a combo. "Jumping.HP, CR.MP, CR.LP, CR.MK, Ex. Tatsu, Ex. Shoryu, FADC, Ultra. One of the strongest combo in his repertoire. That being said, Ryu is one of the best well-balanced character in Street Fighter. Enough Said.

  • Wow. fuck that end ;)))

  • @IDaChosenUno Exactly. Ryu has very slow recovery. If he is baited to do moves, his slow recovery can be used against him in many ways. It takes ages to recover from even a hadouken or crouching HK. Experienced Ryu's therefore only combo them or do them at distances/moments at which they are impossible to punish. Ryu isn't truly excellent at any department. He's just the most all-round one. Sagat/Seth/Ken excell in SRK, Ken's tatsu is much better, Akuma's fireballs are more versatile, etc.

  • Congrats, Fuudo, for placing 1st at EVO 2011. Impressive matches against Poongko and Latif (aka the guys who bested Daigo).

  • @KeenoMajeno1 Don't hate on Ryu because he has many priorities. I main Ryu and my experience with Ryu is that he is very well played and not broken. If you have SSF4 AE on PS3, I'll be happy to take you on with my Ryu. PSN ID: Satsui-No-Ryu.

  • @Mojoheart like 1 random match on youtube is the only time they've played lol.

  • damn that's one hell of a come back.

  • Guile theme

  • @Mojoheart In one of the matches Daigo beat Fuudo...so what are ya gonna say about that?

  • @masterchief527 lol fuudo beat daigo in a tourney in France to get 1st place......-_____-

  • @watsup516 : / That means all pro players are equal.

  • Could abel ultra after the focus attack at 2:02 ???

  • @xpuniShr88 yep.

  • i hate people hating ryu. its just gay.

  • this is the best Abel??? Shiro fucking suuucks

  • @felipebrasil5 shiro sucks? can u play abel better or can u fin a better abel?-.-

  • @shaminko yes i can lol

  • @felipebrasil5 wat?? I didnt know those words could be put in a setence. your out your mind.

  • the recovery time on that tatsu at the end is rediculous. dont care what nobody say.. that ultra should have landed...

  • @KeenoMajeeno1 Why do you think everyone does it without hit confirming it? It's basically safe. It's either free damage, free chip, or free juggle into ultra.

Ryu is well-known for being an extremely easy to play character.

"To master"... a whole different story.

  • @DemihumanGosu im no disagreeing im just calling bulshit. never said he was easy to (master) but i will say it doesnt take to master the bastard to play on ahigh level with him. long as u kno his rules and knowledge of the game.

  • @KeenoMajeeno1 its an ex move for a reason, more invicibility, less start up, less recovery.

  • @GamesPlayer1 regardless if he would have done it any faster and the game would have made him go right through it. And so. it still should have landed he times that perfectly. And I kno what properties that damn tatsu has man u dont have to tell me. jus cause it was an ex doesnt mean its no bullshit.

  • @KeenoMajeeno1 I don't follow your logic sorry...

  • @GamesPlayer1 i kno you dont cause u prolly use Ryu. with your shoryu trades for ultra and fast recovery with tatsu. O yeah and no i dont lose to Ryus before u try to say it. I just body them. And regardless of what u say he timed it perfect and it was bull shit.

  • @KeenoMajeeno1 if you do it too early it goes right throu, if you do it too late it gets blocked...I'm sorry but what do you expect? ryu does ex tatsu while able does ex roll, so ITS FAIR in your brain that Abel can ESCAPE Ryu's ex tatsu and at the same time punish it, LIKE THAT?!? it wasn't timed perfectly because he used ex roll. this is street fighter, one move at a time. peace.

p.s. i'm not trying to own anybody, this is just a simple discussion...

  • @GamesPlayer1 ur missing my point. lets say he just randomed a tatsu and not even ex tatsu at that. if Abel would have just went straight to ultra they would have made Abel go straight through it. How do I kno this cause its happened to me alot of times. so ok i can take them fucking me over with going through it sense it goes through fireballs with timing. but when i time the fucking thing to hit Ryu right as he stops and then I get blocked and can recover and counter it? thats bull shit.

  • @GamesPlayer1 either way the Abel was screwed and they give Ryus moves so much priority its like why even try to fight the bastard. Like that little two hit thing in the air he does to set up his ultra. that thing has so much priority its rediculous. I kno everything a RYu wants to do but it doesnt matter cause the shits always in his favor. o lemme fump and trade o wait he ultras into that. O shit got caught in the corner with a ex tatsu ultra into that. lemme zone with fire ball.

  • @KeenoMajeeno1

Not trying to hate...but Shiro beat Daigo's Ryu like twice...and pretty convincingly at that, and Daigo is suppose to be the best Ryu player in the world...

  • @GamesPlayer1 O wait his is gonna go through it and counter mine.. ok ok lemme just footsie with him. aww fuck he can ex fireball cancel into ultra with that to. I think i just run the whole fucking match and hope he dies from lung cancer or something maybe he smokes..... :/ get what im saying? he already has so much he just had to have fast recovery on that tatsu to ha? fuck Ryu and anybody that act like its hard using him. cause its not i use to main him it was fun fucking people over.

  • @KeenoMajeeno1 huh whatever, now you are just hating. Ryu is not broken in any way shape or form. What made him high tier was the trade into ultra and the super trap. other that that, he's the same in AE, if not better in AE with better normals.

"A minute to learn, a lifetime to master"

  • @GamesPlayer1 Are u serious man? See Now i can use Dhalsim as an example. I never said he was easy to (Master) and even if hes the hardest to master that in no way shape or form means he not cheesy. Look at Dhalsim. He can zone u out from half fucking screen. is he easy to use no!1 not at all it taked great skill to use him but that does not mean hes not cheesy at all. Its an up hill battle fighting a master Dhalsim period because even if u get close to him hes gonna just disappear across

  • @GamesPlayer1 across the damn screen and we gotta start the up hill battle all over again. for people to sit there and say its not cheesy for a character like Dhalsim to have these advantages is rediculous seeing that majority of the characters require u to be up in there fucking face! O and i beat dhalsims to for the record no im not free against dhalsim the shit is still annoying and gay. I shouldnt have to play that way using a character i wanna use while he sits bak tapping a button!

  • @KeenoMajeno1 @GamesPlayer1

Shiro beat Daigo and twice at that, so it was no fluke...i don't think at this level with Ryu and Abel in particular that its about the characters, its more about predicting or reading the style of play...if Shiro can beat Daigo's Ryu but has difficulty with Fuudo, clearly it can't be about 'Ryu'...it has to be something else...

  • good ryu not like others that only play backwards

  • great comeback from shiro

  • @bogosse02200 Actually i think he was playing around. He obviously played "for real" when his life got low. Its a staple of shiro, its almost like a dare or a taunt for him to let you diminish his life.

  • At 1:40 "Rare footage of Shiro actually angry"

  • @simpleclean110 yeah it was because fuudo kept doing air tatsu to build meter like he already won the round and was just going for meter.

  • fuckin ryu noob

  • i shouted when shiro got 2nd round!

  • wow wat a finish

  • the damage abel can dishout

  • anyone ever tried in training to shoot ryu's SHINKU HADOKEN(super) VS his own METSUHADOKEN(ultra)?

  • @barbm001 the metsu would outlast a shinku.

  • this is definitly NOT shiro !

  • okay how the hell did fuudo beat shiro's abel then lost to tobo's abel (remember shiro's abel was beating the crap out of tobo's abel).

  • @touyang06 Just because someone wins a mirror match doesn't mean that they're better in every other matchup.

  • Fuudo plays with a lot more guts then Daigo. When Daigo and Shiro fight he rarely throws fireballs but fuudo is using them like its normal in this matchup.

  • @blackman6270 bcus daigo is smarter

  • @maaartadella I wouldnt say smarter, but safer and more patient. Usually when Daigo and Shiro fight Shiro wins, but it seems that Fuudo found out how 2 use his fireball savely in this match-up. Probably knows the distance.

  • 0:42 dem low punches and kicks man, that shit is EFFECTIVE. Whenever I fight against Ryus I always get hit by a crossup then get pummeled to hell by those. Then I'm like, "no! dont hurt me plz!" then it's like SHORYUKEN.

  • Good shit.

Check out my vid if you get the chance.

    Thanks

  • daigo doesn't when tournaments in japan.he get's his ass handed to him over there.he comes to america, where the competition is soft for him and win's.look at all the big japanese tournys and tell me where you see daigo.hell daigo can't even beat shiro.daigo, wins in america because where he come from the lvl of competition is great.japanese sf players are light years ahead of american play.i give him no respect for winnig over here.

  • @xXxSeTTriPxXx

Daigo concept matches says hello. Mago beat him though in those matches. But later on Daigo destroys Mago (and he made him look fairly nooby). Now don't tell me Mago is cake when that guy is clearly one of the best Sagats around the world. Don't get me wrong though, there's still more stronger players than Daigo in Japan for sure, but Daigo is still up there. In your text you're making Daigo look like just some dude in Japan whose just, how should I say it, ''average".

  • @xXxSeTTriPxXx thats why he is called "Kami"

  • I love how this is a Fuudo vs Shiro match and people are going on and on about Daigo. Daigo is good not because he turtles, spams, or does the same shit over and over again. He's good because the guy knows his mind games. It's not about knowing how to combo it's about knowing when to hit and how to move.

  • Diago is a fagot? why have u won Bazzilion numbers of Championships? Is ur Ryu beter than him? Have u Beat Daigo before? have u ever had interviews like him because he's owning Japanese players? are u sponserd like him?

if not in any of those , why u talk shit big mouth?

and another guy sayin i lost respect to Daigo because he think this game is good, if so then why u too playin SF4? if ur not playin sf4, why are others playin it and the game made it to EVO?

    .....ur the fag maybe?

  • 2:05

So lame, the shortcut for EX FS messes someone up even at high level play. AA FA into Ultra would have been a great finish.

  • maybe he wasnt doin a shortcut.. maybe he was blocking and wasnt expecting a tornado throw

  • Are you sure you're not examining the wrong situation? After the anti air focus in the corner, I'm almost positive Shiro was trying to Ultra since you'd have more then enough time to confirm the FA hit and land the Ultra.

    Try it for yourself.

  • @vtxaishi oh.. my bad. i thought u were talking about fuudo. well actually i think he was going for the fallen sky becuz abel's ultra can only land off of certain animations and i dont think thats one of em. but i no the EX falling sky can land

  • first and last round were kinda one-sided fuudo kinda owned i think, while shiro put up a nice show of the amazing comeback(of cos nt as amazing as the 1 daigo did to justin)

  • why can shiro always take on daigo but he couldnt beat fuudo?

  • Cause Fuudo doesn't do the same shit over and over and over again. If you watch videos of Daigo, you'll notice he's not so good without his projectiles against another good player.

  • @Siberianhusky89 daigo is a faggot homo who only uses Ryu

  • Well, yes and no. Daigo is not a faggot homo, but I have lost respect for him since he plays this game and considers it a good street fighter or fighting game at all. But you are correct, he pretty much only uses Ryu. In 3 though, he chose Ken because Ryu wasn't as good and projectiles are almost useless in Street Fighter 3.

  • different fighting style... Just because shiro take down daigo doesnt mean he better than daigo in sf4. If thats the case, it means Shiro can beat anyone daigo can. However when two pro fight eachother, it all comes down to luck.

  • Because Fuudo is better than Daigo...I can't remember a match where Daigo has beaten Fuudo...If there is, I haven't seen it.

  • And I can't remember the last time Fuudo won major championships..if he has, I haven't seen it

  • @knutitup ...Uh, heh, I hope I didn't offend you. Seriously, Fuudo has beaten Daigo enough times that I consider him better than Daigo. I'm not being a jerk. I could care less about Japanese champions... Whatever bro. I'll see ya guys at EVO.

  • I'm not offended at all.We don't see every match they play. Me and you don't have enough information about their stats or records. But I do know that Daigo is winning the biggest major tournies. Fuudo is know where to be found.

  • @knutitup he won a recent one in europe...and he beat daigo.

  • @JBhag21

There u go, one of them...want some more?

    now u've seen it

  • @JBhag21

hmmmm, how can i post a link of this vid?

anyways type this exactly in the search bar to see one of the vids:

SF IV - Daigo (Ryu) vs Fuudo (Ryu)

  • 1:58 Shiro: "Time to flip the win switch!"

  • I love Shiro rage-mode in the 2nd round.

  • I guess Shiro wasn't ABEL to win the match.

    >_>;

  • @Vevion lol wad a pun

  • 1:54 fuudo got cocky lol since no point building up bar if he won.

  • Comment removed

  • i dont think daigo ever beaten shiro before

  • Fuudo's got damn nice pokes on his part.. It's really dangerous trying to get near him without the correct timing or without a good strategy.. Very well done!!!

  • Open can of whoop ass at 1:56.....got damn!

  • if something works, why not do it?

  • at 1:56 += i think Shiro got a .. Fuck this shit and RUSH

  • so many dumb scrubby comments...

  • Peoples' views of balance simply don't make sense. Supposedly Ryu vs. Abel is an even matchup, but that's only because of Abel's roll and Ultra. Abel has to be extremely precise and fast with all of his moves and he can destroy Ryu. Either he totally outplays Ryu, or plays very carefully and struggles the whole time. And that's apparently why it's balanced, because Ryu can do whatever the hell he wants and wins by default, but loses if he makes mistakes against a smart Abel.

  • So Snacks... you're saying that if one character doesn't have to be smart and wins by default, and the other character has to play very, very smart in order to have a chance at winning... that this means "Balanced?" Balanced would imply that at an equal skill level, both characters have an equal chance at winning.

  • great match played by both. even though shiro lost i think his abel did well. can't win them all.

  • its obvious shiro is the better player of the two.there was only one time when Fuudo did not mash Shoryuken on wake up

  • Agree, once you play high level players you dont worry TOO MUCH on a DP on wake up.But get tooo relax and you get a player who does it and you cant really do much but block...AND PUNISH!!!MUWHAHAHAHA

  • best way to beat a good Abel isn't to try and outguess them. you just have to play like an idiot

  • good advice. play like an idiot.

  • lol!

  • i understand wut ur saying but u see,at the pro level of japenese players, dey dont necessiraly do wake up DP like most US americans do.shiro was overcrediting fuudo, thinking he cant or wont do wake up dp all the time. whether it was strategy or scrubbiness on fuudo's part is n e one's guess, but ill go with the latter.

  • he did wake up dp cause he knows how shiro plays and he knew it'd catch him

  • @MaceAce7 well it was more like shiro was assuming fuudo wouldn't do wake-up DPs

same thing can be said of 2:02. when do you see great players doing a lvl 3 FA on a downed opponent? shiro was taking a huge risk but at high levels, because you never really know, he risked it (too bad there was no follow up since fuudo jumped, hence no crumple)

at this level i would say these are double bluffs

  • fuudo has a 11-4 record against daigo. you don't know what you're talking about.

  • Dam shiro exploded towards the end of round 2. Also that ryu is aggressive and has an awkward play style lol.

  • Nice way to start round 1 eh, as for the last round Abel's ultra should of have gotten him oh well.

  • wow he was fuckin lucky in the last round. that ultra shoulve hit him^^

  • check out my street fighter tribute

  • Wow, he plays an aggressive Ryu, which is good. I think he owned Abel that way compared to Daigo's method.

  • Ryu, Ken, Sagat and Akuma are overrated.

  • I like close range fight and rarely use fireballs.

  • Why, is your own muay thai fireball better?

  • haha

  • Thank you so much for pointing this, as I never thought of it before.Abel is too difficult to use for me, since his moves requite those shitty Sanwa sticks that suck like hell.If I could play it on X-stick, Happ Perfect 360 or Happ Ultimate, it would be a lot better. What other characters are well anti-fireballs? Maybe Blanka?

  • Fuudo handled Shiro a lot better than Daigo did, but Daigo is still the best Ryu. Shiro is the Abel god, but obviously he takes losses.

  • I never spam with fireballs, I am a muay thai boxer myself, maybe this is why.I use Sagat since SF 2 CE.I agree, this just is not the Shiro we use to know, maybe he was not quite in shape.

  • @FIxt00l Abel is actually one of the anti-fireball characters; he got many moves that can go thru or counter firballs. If you have watched Daigo's match against Shiro, you would have seen that he used Hadoken very rarely.

Ruy's fireball is not that cheap of a move due to its recovery time. Fuudo got no advantages in this point, I believe..

  • bad game for shiro... Getting hit TWICE by a dragonpunch after wake up game.. he could just block..

  • Shiro owned another spamming n00b, at least in the first round, Kudos! Abel is much harder to master than the cheap cliche Ryu, who spams with a long kick and a fireball.I have never seen tactics like this before-escaping from a Tatsumaku Senpu Kuyaku and a try for an Ultra combo...I am not saying I can beat Fuudo, just my 2 cents, mates.Anyway, I live in a small country named Bulgaria, and I will never ever have access to any tournament, to try out and learn more out of my Blanka and my Sagat..

  • Wow. Firstly you call Fuudo a spamming noob, then admit you use Sagat... lol?

  • Dude, no offense really, but i think you don't know what you talk about.

This guy you call "noob" is fuudo, one of best japan players.

And the badest japanese player would beat the shit out of anyone of us, you included. They are at a level above europe/US level. They see frame. In tournaments japanese players ALWAYS win.

And if you know japanese players yet then i think that you lack of humility for calling anyone of thel noob. The best live player IS a noob compared to him.

  • This being said, i would have prefered 1000 time shiro winning too, first because i like shiro as a player, and also because i like abel as a character.

  • Looked to me as if the Abel character was the one backing off at that point of 'spamming', waiting for Ryu to come to him to start grappling. What else could Ryu of done? The Abel guy should have come forward. If it's part of the game, who cares, as long as you win.

  • you called ryu a spamming noob and you play a sagat ...

  • Man, Shiro, pull it TOGETHER buddy! You're better than that.

To all those out there who don't know better, this IS NOT Shiro at his finest. This was likely more of a friendlies than anything too serious. (I'm sure both of these guys more than qualify for the tourny they were looking to get into.)

  • I'm afraid not. All Japanese tournaments use a single elimination format, so Shiro was eliminated by Daigo here.

And what the hell are "friendlies?" Do you mean casuals?

  • @LeftyHangsLower Friendlies, casuals, whatever. =\

My before comment just shows up how little I know about tourney formats--never been to one myself, so I'll shut up now.

  • Hey now, why would you shut up? You just didn't know, that's not a crime. And you should go to a tournament, it's a fun learning experience. Don't worry about placing poorly, I came 32nd out 50 entrants in my first tournament, haha.

  • @LeftyHangsLower There any Street Fighter HD Remix tournies? >_>

  • Good to hear you play HDR, a far superior game to SF4. Look around in your area, a lot of SF4 tournaments have HDR side tourneys.

  • I'm not quite ready for the competitive league yet--a lot of the advanced stuff still escapes me. Though I guess there's no real better way to learn than to actually EXPERIENCE the competition.

Are there any sites where they list area tournaments?

  • Yeah, exactly, just go and ask a lot of intelligent questions and people will be more than happy to help you.

And if you want to find tournaments in your area, go too Shoryuken forums and browse under the Regional Matchmaking boards. Best of luck.

  • eliminated by daigo?

    this is fuudo not daigo

  • I corrected myself after, but I deleted that comment.

  • ok np

  • @LeftyHangsLower

    Fuudo = Daigo? >_>

  • Comment removed

  • there was only ONE time in this match where Fuudo did NOT DP reversal on wake-up...dats flow chart for u

  • They really need to fix the recovery of tatsu :/

  • rico sucks though

  • eff that shiro is better.

  • fudos ryus amazing

  • True, and I have to say that Fuudo is amazing (no matter what game he play he's just stunning). Shiro his pretty good too, two players I really appreciate, The match was great though.

  • that tatsu recovery is fucking stupid

  • awesome fight.

  • shiro went buckwild on his ass lol

  • nasty comeback in 2nd round

  • Question: Are most EX moves quicker than their normal counterparts?

  • If the move doesn't do additional damage it's usually either that or super armor or invincibility frames.

  • Hate to sound like a noob, but I'm curious what "super armor" actually entails. It sounds like it could be just another term for invincibility. Does super armor just expire, and invincibility last a certain amount of time?

  • It's where the move absorbs one hit like a focus attack. Thing Balrog's EX dash punches, Fuerte's EX run, etc.

  • So I was right: Super armor takes a single hit, while invincibility protects you a certain number of frames.

Thanks for being so cool about it.

  • Yes.

  • yeah

  • No. In some cases they are slower (eg. Blanka's Flip to Rolling over the top thingee.) But yes MOST EX moves are faster.

  • Say, maybe you can tell me. Is Shiro suppose to be one of the best Abel players right now? May you also tell me some other really good Abel players?

  • I heard Ojisan Boy plays a good Abel.

  • busta bust

  • Thanks

  • Shiro's pretty much the best around.

  • ricky o

  • @Siberianhusky89 the best ive seen is rico suave

  • Shiro right now is regarded as "hands down" the best Abel player. This video tho....I'm sorry I will probably get a lot of thumbs down but he played like TRASH.

  • I wouldn't say he played like trash, however, he didn't play as well as he usually does, that's very much for sure. Fuudo is pretty good though, I think he's even beaten Daigo's Ryu as well. Anyways, thanks alot XD I wish I could find alot of videos for different match ups.

  • OH S**T COMEBACK 2:00

    GO ABEL!!

  • why didn't he ultra at 2.02?

  • If he ultra'd at 2:02, it would not be powerful enough to finish Ryu.Yes, he would do a lot of damage but I'm pretty sure that he was holding onto it just in case Daigo put distance between them. If he Daigo did, then he would have to put up with fireballs since he used up his ultra. So basically, saves the ultra in case of fireballs.

  • When the fuck does Daigo come into the picture?

  • Oopsie
