nah man nissans VG,RB and toyotas JZ series engines are all 3L or less and can all make 800+hp on 94 with a good engine managment system, huge injectors, fuel lines, and fuel pumps. My co worker drives a 750+ whp supra daily driven on pump gas 3L.

That's true, but starting with an engine that is already efficient is the best starting point for performance. At some point, yeah, you're going to have to install larger injectors, fuel pump, etc., but if the engine is already efficient, it will also put out that much more power for the amount of A/F you feed it. It'll get to 700hp with x fuel while a giant 5L engine will most likely require more.
When Ash-Spec was tuning my car he pulled out of the article of this car saying it did it all on stock internals. pretty sweet. didnt know they had a lil spray on it though. i made 356whp&368ft. lbs torque on stock injectors,stock turbos and few bolt ons on pump 93 :)

I had the pics of all the dyno's that day, 2 at above 740rwhp & 700ftlb of torque.....but that was literally like 4 years ago - i dont recall where they are hosted now. It wasnt a dyno queen....that day we were doing "tuning" and ran 14dyno's and those were the only dyno's i ever did w/ her. That 744rwhp was 20lbs of boost & only a 60shot (wet)....i could have gone 25lbs & 100shot - i know she could have been damn close or above 800 but i didnt want to push it.

no i didnt, i was around & helping for much of it, but the engine build was done by Z1Motorsports in GA and then i had AshZ (ashley powers) do my tuning & some other custom setups on the car. Back then i was a busy guy and didnt have the time to learn the ins & outs of building motors, so I had those who knew what they were doing do it ;)

it was an intercooler set up we did that sprayed the i/c.....we were only running a 60 shot wet setup on the engine though & that was only at 20lbs of boost.....had i wanted to push her we could have hit 800rwhp that day. We did 2 runs over 740 and that was enough since we were mainly there tuning it.
we werent "expecting" anything, it was the first time i dyno'd that new engine/turbo/ic set up back then and we did 14 dyno runs (as i recall) for tuning and did 2 big runs at "high boost setting" to see what it would do, it had more room to go to 25psi and 100shot but i was more than thrilled back in 2003 to get 744rwhp & 700ftlb torque so i never pushed it further, Back then it was the highest hp z on a stock bottom in America I believe.

That's true, but starting with an engine that is already efficient is the best starting point for performance. At some point, yeah, you're going to have to install larger injectors, fuel pump, etc., but if the engine is already efficient, it will also put out that much more power for the amount of A/F you feed it. It'll get to 700hp with x fuel while a giant 5L engine will most likely require more.

When Ash-Spec was tuning my car he pulled out of the article of this car saying it did it all on stock internals. pretty sweet. didnt know they had a lil spray on it though. i made 356whp&368ft. lbs torque on stock injectors,stock turbos and few bolt ons on pump 93 :)

I had the pics of all the dyno's that day, 2 at above 740rwhp & 700ftlb of torque.....but that was literally like 4 years ago - i dont recall where they are hosted now. It wasnt a dyno queen....that day we were doing "tuning" and ran 14dyno's and those were the only dyno's i ever did w/ her. That 744rwhp was 20lbs of boost & only a 60shot (wet)....i could have gone 25lbs & 100shot - i know she could have been damn close or above 800 but i didnt want to push it.

no i didnt, i was around & helping for much of it, but the engine build was done by Z1Motorsports in GA and then i had AshZ (ashley powers) do my tuning & some other custom setups on the car. Back then i was a busy guy and didnt have the time to learn the ins & outs of building motors, so I had those who knew what they were doing do it ;)

it was an intercooler set up we did that sprayed the i/c.....we were only running a 60 shot wet setup on the engine though & that was only at 20lbs of boost.....had i wanted to push her we could have hit 800rwhp that day. We did 2 runs over 740 and that was enough since we were mainly there tuning it.

we werent "expecting" anything, it was the first time i dyno'd that new engine/turbo/ic set up back then and we did 14 dyno runs (as i recall) for tuning and did 2 big runs at "high boost setting" to see what it would do, it had more room to go to 25psi and 100shot but i was more than thrilled back in 2003 to get 744rwhp & 700ftlb torque so i never pushed it further, Back then it was the highest hp z on a stock bottom in America I believe.

Yeah the torque is close to the same I'm positive. Those v6 engines can make some power. That Z isn't even pushed to its max.
