  • watch?v=8W7TofueJ-o my video about eugenics. I have aspergers syndrome (technically I'm autistic too now thanks to the DSM) I can usually tell if someone is autistic withing a few seconds of hearing them talk but I had no idea untill you mentioned it.

  • @YesIamJames

Yeah, higher functioning autism is a spectrum with many varients. I'm lucky that as an adult it's barely noticable for most people now, I've learned to adapt to it, but as a kid I was very difficult. I still can't read facial expressions, tone of voice etc. and tend to feel uncomfortable in large social gatherings, but it's not a major issue for me anymore. To be honest my Ehlers-Danlos is a much worse condition, a progressive and chronic connective tissue disorder.

  • @TornadoCreator I doubt luck had much to do with it, most of the adults I know with ASDs have learned to fit in pretty well due to nessesaty. One to one I'm fine but large groups I find very hard to deal with, esspecially when it's people I don't know.

I don't really know much about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome it must be tough but is having 1 copy of he gene really much of a disability?

  • @YesIamJames

You only need one gene to have a disability yes.

  • I think it's nonsense from a biological point of view to encourage "inter racial" procreation any more than racially homoogenic one, it really does not make a difference, the only difference exist in between inbreeding and not inbreeding, we have large enough pool of genes to chose from if only we don't fuck with our close relatives :)

  • Subbed, you're interesting to listen to :)

  • Allso, I would like to ask you about autism and it's signs.

I have some problems with organisation, verbal communication and social interactions, which from what little research I've done might indicate some form of mild autism on my part.

So how do you know if it's autism or if I'am just challenged by enviromental expirience?

  • @Ilamarea You are not autist, the fact is that people these days love to say they are "austists" or that they have "aspergers" or that they are "bipolar" Lol. Anyone to a degree could have certain psychological features that would fit one or another diagnosis. You are probably a product of your environment and perhaps you do have a slight tendency towards autistic traits, genetically, but that'd be depreciable.

  • @derpestarzt

Yeah probably, but you came straight to assumption that I'am not autistic, and I asked about 'how do I know?'.

  • @Ilamarea Ok, true, let's put it this way, I think it's very very unlikely that you are an autist you might have some traits or whatever, if you say you have problems with organization and verbal communication well then I'd recommend you visit a psychiatrist and see what they make of it. You might be depressed, it could be a number of things. People doesn't realize that autism does imply a high level of disability which you don't seem to have, fortunately!

  • @derpestarzt Indeed, although I often don't like to admit it, I would likely have a masters degree and career at this point if it wasn't for my autistic issues. I have major problems with organisation, time management and social situations and as a result I can't keep a job, I have trouble with my studies, and basic day-to-day tasks are difficult as I'm not organised enough to look after myself properly. I am luckly intelligent enough to coast though college, but I could have been great...

  • @TornadoCreator That is called being a loser not being autistic ^_^ seriously no offence I am the same,I never finished any of my college degrees, but in fairness, some people genuinely can't fit in that system, I definitely can't do things that way, there are to many obstacles for the socially challenged folks like myself I don't want to have to fucking talk to random cunts to know when is the next exam! I need a centralized system of information you know what I mean?

  • @derpestarzt

I understand entirely what you mean, active organisation is one of the hardest things for me, I need a system to effectively do it for me or there's a very real chance that I'll have no idea where I'm supposed to be, when or what I'm there for... I am however unlike most people who claim it, actually diagnosed autistic. I was diagnosed about 11-12 years ago I think, it's higher functioning autism though, not like in films. I'm not a savant or anything, I wish.

  • @Ilamarea If you genuinely feel you need to be tested ask your GP to refer you to a specialist, but chances are (s)he will tell you that you're not autistic straight off the bat. Technically they could tell by putting a probe in your brain, but that's risky and involves getting a hole drilled into your skull, so it's not normally done. (Autistic disorders are chemical inbalances in the brain, they're biological not psychological).

  • @Ilamarea Also be aware that there are different types of personalities, I myself have an extremely introspective type of personality. That means for example, I get really exhausted by social interaction and I like to spend most of my time alone, but there is nothing "wrong" with that it's just not considered desirable in our western, consumerist society, that's all.

  • @Ilamarea

It takes years to be diagnosed as autistic and even then I think many doctors nowadays misdiagnose because a lot of people claim to be diagnosed with the "I couldn't give a fuck" diagnosis of "Asperger's Syndrome". I don't know why but everyone who's ever heard of this seems to get diagnosed, and it was rare when I was diagnosed autistic. Honestly, you're probably not autistic, maybe you're just naturally a little socially awkward and disorganised, it's normal quirks of personality.

  • @TornadoCreator

Yeah, most probably. It wouldn't change anything anyway.

So back on eugenics, how about getting rid of your hipocricy by adopting a child rather then having one of your own?

  • @Ilamarea

While I can see the point, I feel that while my genetic code is fucked in many ways it does have plenty to offer. I am extremely strong willed, honest and rather intelligent, which is a trait I share with most of my family. It would be safe to assume that my children would share these traits, which is something I would want. Without meaning to sound cruel, with adoption I wouldn't know what I was getting... and that puts me off, it may not be very noble of me but it's the truth.

  • @TornadoCreator

Thoes traits of your family are not necessarly a result of genetics.

Meaby it's just the way your family have been raised, and have raised you?

And as too adoption, you could do your research and find a kid with family of strong willed, honest and inteligent people, with long and clean genetical history.

I argue, becouse everyone, with no matter how fucked genes, has something to offer, plenty even, thus making your view a bit more then "a little hipocritical".

  • @Ilamarea

I'm well aware of the hypocracy in what I'm saying, I don't pretend to be noble or righteous in this, all I'm stating is an idealised opinion which I am conciously likely to break by having children myself, because as much as I would like the "strong" genes to survive and to see the human race become better in every respect possible, there is no way to cause that without infringing on rights and causing much debate on what is "better".

  • First thing: At 03:20 you support further breeding, and inter-racial breeding of human race. I hold entirelly different oppinion. So far I don't care about inter-racial marriages, but human kind does not have a need for further reproduction and increse in gene pole. Over=population is allready a problem, which will become around 250% more troubling for our race in near 50 years, and our gene pole(?) is allready degrading. Without some sort of un/natural selection everyone will end up retarded.
