with the 3 and 4 bladed boomerangs always throw vertically with a bit of a angle away from you, like 5-10 degrees...ish. The more recognizable ones (V shape) are thrown vertically with a 20-45 degree angle-ish. Depends on the boomerang.

I'm aussie M13. Try throwing it backhanded (kinda like a frisbe) at a slight upward angle with a tilt away from the direction you're throwing. Also throw to left or right of your body so it makes a curve back to you. It takes a lot of practice but you'll get the hang of it.

couple of things just in case you're interested. they were used by the Aborigine people as hunting weapons to catch birds and stuff (but only ever in the banana shaped version, not the three pointed version).

aaaaand you need to throw it on its side (vertically orientated) rather than flat (horizontally). then, any lift it generates should make it fly round in a big circle back to you (rather than simply up off the ground, if it is thrown flat).

You can buy a rang, but you need to tune it dude.

Use some sand paper to trim the airfoil wings. Oh yeah, when you throw it try throwing it at the 80 degree angle. And when the wind blows slightly use it!!! Like make it flow from to your left (if youre throwing with right arm).

BTW the rang is for trick catch, and I can catch it blind folded!!! Its so easy once you get it.

the way I figured out how to throw one was at a big field and there was a guy throwing a boomerang, and I went over there, and he gave me a boomerang and told me always to throw it just shy of vertical, and I've gotten a real wooden one since.

Not all boomerangs come back. You need to know if the maker is representable. The one your throwing needs some fine tuning. I have boomerangs I build and sell. The videos are on here. Trust me you would want to where a helmet when throwing my creations. They do come all the way back. Check em out if you get a chance.

I've always had the best luck (with the traditional looking ones) throwing it really hard at about a 30-40 degree angle. I can't remember all the tricks to adjusting the angle to make it come straight back to you, but it does (as i'm sure you've found out) take some experimenting to get it just right. Hmmm...wonder if i can find my boomerang... you know, they don't come back to you when you lose them in your house....
