ssx is a racing game now this guy should learn how to sterio type his games sled storm 1080 cool boaders they focus on more racing then anything ssx is more freestyle and tricks then racing its a half and half series half racing half tricks and this game is nothing like tony hawk games. If they want snowboarding games that are like tony hawk try out shawn palmers pro snowboarder or shaun white snowboarding.

I think gameplay wise, the old ssx's are the craziest snowboarding game, but from the story yh looks alot crazy :L and i would say ssx you do quite a bit of tricks, well atleast i did quite a bit anyway and the tricks especially the unique ones for each character are insane, look better than this tbh :/

the most awesome thing of this game to me, is that you can just chill out and ride down the mountain having a good time.

the rides are so long and the scenery beautiful that it almost feel like going down a real mountain.

ok, let me step up here and say some things... after getting into the SW snowboarding game for 360(about 40 hours into it), I can honestly say I really like it now. Its a realistic approach to snowboarding, unlike the amped series. You shouldnt be able to do a back flip anywhere in a game, because you cant just do a flip anywhere on a real life mountain. I encourage people to give SWsnowboarding a try, more than 5 hours, and once you understand the controls get back to me.

accually iv seen people do a back flipps off nothing plus people do back flips off small rails, iv even seen people do backflips off up (yes i said up) 5 sets. the amped 3 was horribly unrealistic but the 1rst and 2nd amped were alot more realistic than shawn whites snowboarding ever will. but yes you are right give it time to get into it but its all personal oppinion. but me personaly i hate shawn white with a passion.

in some ways ssx 3 beats amped. but in amped you can do much more than in ssx 3 and you have a beter freeride mode... but in ssx 3 you have more crazy triks and you can jump sky high... i like Amped 3 beter tough -.-

amped 3 is a great game, but it does have some flaws, like the fact you can't actually play multiplayer, except for those specific challenges, and i have yet to find what you use live for on that game.
