  • Wether the remake is good or bad, chances are more people will go back and revisit the original version. I think most people that are against the remake are worried because they feel 'Oldboy' and non-US cinema belongs to them. Do not worry, you will find other movies no one has heard of to brag about. Having said that, 'Oldboy' was so amazing. Watched it 3 nights in a row after first screening.

  • This is my morning alarm tone. So peaceful to wake up to. And this is my favorite movie of all time, nothing can compare with its brilliance, the portrayal of a man who's lost everything and all that he has left is corrupted by darkness.

  • THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE, no one can say the contrary

  • it's been so many years but can't get out of this music n the movie. My favorite of the favorites. Let me spell it out. D O P E!

  • my daughter and i danced our wedding dance to this.

  • @Hellbat308 Best comment i read on youtube lately (Y)

  • "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Weep and you weep alone."

  • VENGEANCE.

  • Great !

  • Memories of Murder is really good. I liked it. It was totally different than i expected, but it really worked for me.

  • *Orgasm.

  • Oh Daesu!!!

  • How can I listen to this knowing that the movie will be remade by Spike Lee?

I mean, MAYBE he will do a good work, but knowing that a lot of people will only know the remake without having ever watched the original makes me sad.

  • @Northensnow

I am just planning on watching the old original now... remakes often are just a thing you should never do to a movie, because remakes feature incredibly useless extra effects and distractions and what-not.

If a movie was great, don't ever bring out a remake, if it sucked o.k., but not if the "classic" version was good, and I heard awesome things of this movies and by what I've seen I think my expectations will be met.

  • @J3dr0w To be honest at first I thought the same, but then I found out that Christopher Nolan's Insomnia is a remake, so I guess there is a chance that this remake will be a good movie. I didn't like the manga that much, so I'm still not completely sold, but I'll probably give it a chance.

  • @Northensnow really really sad! I think the original is a masterpiece of art! Its probably the best movie ever made! In my opinion, but i'm thinking that i'm not the only one who thinks like this.

  • @Sugakilla1986 No. You're not.

  • @Northensnow americans dont care about non americans movies exept harry potter ! lol

  • @Northensnow WHAT??? A REMAKE?? ITS PERFECT AS IT IS!

  • @Northensnow Fret not. Those who enjoy the remake and see its potential will surely seek out the original, and that's better then never seeing it at all, which would otherwise be the case for most people. Those who feel no compulsion to find the root of such a brilliant premise will get exactly what they deserve, that is, to never find the root of the premise.

  • @Northensnow This kinda sounds like hipster leaking. But i approve of this comment. I can say the same with the book World War Z

  • great and horrible!

  • A Bittersweet Life 10/10

    Old Boy 7/10

    I Saw The Devil 9/10

  • @saidashkan I will give them a try. Thanks!

  • @Stuffcakes yw ,by the way if you have already watch them, i would like to know what you think of them

  • @saidashkan

I now saw these movies and I thought they were great. I prefer "I saw the devil" over "A bittersweet life" though. Do you have any other recommendations I may like?

  • @Stuffcakes yea, but they are not asian movies. hide and seek , After Life , source code and Unknown !

  • @Stuffcakes

yea, but i liked the soundtracks of Bittersweet lif ! yea, but they are not asian movies . Orphan , Hide and seek , After life , source code

  • @Stuffcakes

Maybe Our/Dark Town... But it's not as good as the movies which you watched.

Hmmm, Memories of Murder ist Great...

  • @MuKo18

I have seen source code and hide and seek. I liked both movies, especially the first. I just didnt like the ending of source code. I think it can be beautiful when a movie end bad or a bit twisted or ironic. That is one of the powers of Old Boy. Thanks for mentioning these films though! <3

  • This movie is the definition of bittersweet

  • @alexknaz Talking about that, if you haven't already yet, you should check "A bittersweet life". Not as powerful as Old boy (in my opinion), but one of the great corean movies (in my opinion still)

  • but really good music this is I need to say.. sad and heroic. :]

  • it was a typical movie. yes good acting, tricky plot. but normal. not to make itself out a best films ever made. please... we saw so many films like these. they just exaggerate.. manipulate the audience emotionally. the main point was not the sickness of the vengeance but making audience symphatize with incest by showing extremes. a sick agenda. I always hate these kind of films that make a fool out of people. hey dear world don't go and like this film, and make me question what art is!

  • @monolithicshore i think you emphasize on incest too much. In my eyes it is about the sickness of vengeance. Incest was just one of the many means he used to conduct it and in this case it was fitting because of the reason this vengeance was conducted and it deepens this sickness even further. Exaggerations, yes but many of the greatest pieces of art are based on exaggeration. And if a movie can actually manipulate the audience emotionally it is surely something worth admiring.

  • @Seremothgr I'm very sorry for the late reply. I don't think in motion pictures manipulating the audience successfully is a good criteria to decide whether the film is good or not. There are tons of succesful advertisements, stupid sitcoms under that kind. I don't like the way exaggeration and violence is used in films just bec. it is cheaper and easier way to manipulate whole audience and more importantly it is a wonderful tool of black propaganda, a perfect veil to hide a true agenda.

  • @Seremothgr you know what I think.. the suggested artistic side of this film, one that make this film to be included in must see lists I think is the way it tries to show the most horrible and violent nature of human. everybody may do the same if they were that man. The black holes in our hearts... However the idea is lost in the very representation of it. It is even clear in our discussion when you insist it is about vengeance and when I insist it is about incest. Funny huh?

  • wonderful music but film.. well.. shitty. threw person into an emotional roller coaster as I hear people who loved it. well it made me freeze.. just a hollow freeze.. Wonderful acting.. let it be. a sick vengeance.. incest made into a sad equation. to economise. I don't see this as a typical korean movie. it was more lke hollywood style.blood, fight, unreasonably vivid sex scene treating you as a fool.. you may say realistic how he wound kill people with a broken wood but tellme what was the deal

  • "Je t'aime... Oh Daesu."

  • Words cannot describe feelings connected with this song...

    Just marvelous!

  • Oldboy and Mr.Nobody- my favorite films ever!

  • @jonsonsam ....couldn't agree more : )

  • Masterpiece...

  • wow this is great big daddy

  • My wife and I danced our wedding dance to this

  • @BigDaddyMars

    You did a great job!

  • @BigDaddyMars

  • I feel a lot of joy and sadness listening to this song.

  • in turkish wersion she was saying '' seni seviyorum DAE SU'' at here

  • Cry...

  • Just Brilliant !!

  • tears......

  • Sarang hae yo :)!

  • The strangest film i've ever saw.

  • <3<3<3

i love the movie and the music

    :)

  • This music is as beautiful and full of hope as the movie is dark and the characters doomed...A real movie that makes you feel alive, like only the sight of death and despair can.

  • wtf Gänsehaut :D

  • I think there were a lot of people alone, during the final scene of Old Boy. Thanks to Chan-wook.

  • Putain de film que je me suis encore fait cette nuit...Un des plus précieux films étrangers !

  • @Otterfeel Incroyable en effet. Je me le rematte demain, j'ai enfin réussi à le choper en blu ray :D

  • This is music that makes me proud to play the clarinet!

  • @MrDJRoey: nah, I live in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It's sometimes nicknamed 'Manhattan at the Maas' (that's a river), because of the skyline.

  • I like playing this when I'm in a crowded, noisy subway or tram.

  • @Robkinggozer Me too :)

  • @Robkinggozer Do you live in New York?

Ce n'est pas comme les films français à l'eau de rose ! Le pire, c'est que les français revendique que leurs films sont biens...

  • @kreupsse

Y a des très beaux films français. Faut pas s'auto-coincer dans des stéréotypes.

  • @skyalexxx Oui, je dois le reconnaitre ! C'est vrai qu'il y a de bon film français ! Mais la ils sont pas très nombreux. Et puis chacun son opinion non ? ^^

  • suonds like a final fantasy song

  • One of the greatest movies ever made. Great soundtrack.

  • masterpiece

  • repasting my comment:

epic melody.. such sadness in it, but in a beautiful way

like: "every form is dissolving, but it's innevitable"

  • I so need tabs for this! Please! I´ve been searching for over an hour now and all i could find were piano notes. Someone please help me!

  • the coolest movie i ve ever seen. epic song

  • best moment ever, when he opened the picture album

  • one of the most beautiful pieces ive ever heard..

  • Talent inhumain.

  • Revenge is a pure emotion - Mahabharata an epic in India.Oldboy proved it.

  • Best movie ever. Enough said.

  • I love i love i loveeeeeeeeeeee

  • I really like this tune, but it reminds me too much of incest to actually enjoy without being subconsciously freaked out...

  • so much hate on the commentary

Let me enjoy the song in ... peace. <3

  • Who else thinks that this tune reminds them of the Legend Of Zelda series

(especially Ocarina of time and majoras mask).

  • Une musique merveilleuse pour un film merveilleusement dérangeant !

    A voir absolument !

  • eargasmic

  • at first, I was really confused what's going on with this movie, but I started to be attracted at the middle, and towards the end, I literally couldn't close my mouth, and there wasn't any sound coming out of it...

this movie was a masterpiece, brilliant and epic!

  • laugh, and the whole world laughs with you

    weep, and you weep alone...

laugh and cry at the same time, and you must be watching oldboy

  • @fuckingkimura That was the most awesome comment ever!!

  • This is not only a movie; he has known marrying poetry with the most disguting thing in the world, bad and dirty, but so beautiful in fact by its poetry and its music It's very hard to explain what we feel after whatched this movie.

"I know I am a beast, but me too I've the right to live"...

  • 20 people who disliked this died by Dae-su Oh.

  • @TrobinT Yep, they got a hammer to the skull

  • @TrobinT this " x people who disliked this are y " thing is so annoying. Actually i thougt people who have a bit sense of good taste, especially in the comment section of such a great movie/soundtrack, where one could imagine some more intelligent people than on all the other videos on youtube who post things like that.

  • I didn't really remember this soundtrack. Then I listened to the first notes and I almost started crying, feeling sadness and happiness at the same time

  • simply stunning! watched the movie yesterday and i dont regret a single second...

  • @Keenkiller seriously mate,this movie is simply a masterpiece!!

poetic, deep, intense complex emotional journey all together!!

  • I'll start listening to soundtracks instead of watching trailers. This tells so much more about the movie! :)

  • I love this music

  • The film easily makes my top 5 and this piece...is just mesmerising, chilling, happy, sad and beautiful all at the same time.

  • Korea is the best country in the world .. not influenced by hollywood's stupid happy ending movies.. stay the same Korea.. i want to walk in my life with you ..

  • This is absolutely gorgeous !! The movie is quite amazing, too.

  • fav. movie <3

  • $uPeRliKe!!!!

  • The scene in the film where Mido is talking about the ants, and then it shows her crying on a train with this music playing... I can't begin to explain why but I found that short clip quite affecting. The film shocked me because the morality behind it becomes quite distorted, and the line between good an evil blurred completely. And yet for everything in it that was tragic or horrific, it still managed to put forward a less obvious kind of beauty.

  • @Nekhben1 You've analyzed the movie very well in such a short text. Your comment should be in the best comments section! It's true the film has beautiful aspects despite of all the horrible. The line between good and evil truly fades, and the film is just brilliant.

  • This song is so fucking perfect that it tears my ears apart and then forms it back together at the same time. You guys should hear it when drunk or under any other influence

    Its like cumming really.

  • @sakampa xD...

  • I COULD LISTEN TO THIS MASTERPIECE ALL DAY, COULD EVEN SLEEP LISTENING TO THIS. AND NOT GET TIRED OF HEARING ITS BEAUTIFUL MELODY XD

  • When this song came up in the ending-scene, I was quietly thinking by myself that moments like these were the reason why I love movies so much.

So powerful, so memorable! One of the most impressive movies I've ever had the pleasure of watching :).

  • master piece

  • Most fucking intense movie ever. I almost had a heart attack at the end, good stuff.

  • at the beginning, she says in korean "I love you Oh Dae su"

  • @yungsoo

Those words will haunt me till the day I die!

Definitely one of the best movies ever made.

  • brividi lungo la spina dorsale...

ONE OF THE BEST MOVIE EVER.

  • La pelicula es un obra maestra total...Todo es extraordinario!!...incluida esta joya al final...un cierre perfecto para tanta geniaidad.

  • I hate this movie its so well done but too emotionally intense,it made me so furious, its brilliantly done but its almost as if the movie was done to twist people`s emotions. But this melody has become my all time favourite.Strange!

  • best film i have had the pleasure to watch in a long time, certainly in my top 10 of all time, i felt so many different emotions whilst watching this film and kinda knew what was going to happen but felt it would prove me wrong but it didnt.

it is a masterpiece, the original is a masterpiece! i dont even want to know that there is a remake.

  • This Movie Is PERFICTION
