  • Alot was said about medication in the videos within. I've been diagnosed with ADHD only a year ago even though I'm around my 30s. I can understand the resentment some people towards the meds if taken since childhood, but for me, it's been an incredible help. Without reducing my creativity, it has been a great help in my studies, allowing me to focus alot more than the sad 2 minutes of reading I could do before getting up to do something else. It doesn't solve all, but helps.

  • This is pretty awesome. I'm currently researching the possibility that I might be have ADD, but I'm cool with that I just need to know if that's what's going on.

  • The love of my life has ADD... and I love him all the more for it. He a similar personality to Chris Farley mixed with Rob Dinero lmao. There has never been a dull moment. I am depressive by nature, but damn that man has become the light of my world. Trust me lol ADD individuals, and people suffering from depression are a perfect mix.

  • psychedelics cured my adhd and depression :D

  • I have ADHD(well acualy i was dignosed with ADD and i'm hyperative & i have Hypoglycemia)I used to take meds but it just made it worse,I need to eat every 2-3 hours or I have tremors, and various symptoms. When I was on my meds I would fast for no reason. One time i passed out in class and was in the hospital for a few days afterward.I always tell people that if the have or know someone who has ADD or ADHD not to take the meds all they do is kill your imagination which I believe is your very soul

  • I was never diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I have it..

  • The only thing I can do to control it is origami because I always have to be doing something and I can't have the medicine because I have severe heart problems

  • My ADHD is so bad I can daydream and it's exactly like I'm dreaming that's how detracted I get also I cant stop moving like i have to be doing somthing at all times so the only thjcanto stop

  • I have cancer too ? ...no wait my cat has????

  • i have dyslexia

  • ADHD makes my life so difficult.

  • Dear Cory,

Thank you for this video and the one from 2006 "The TRUTH of My Disorder". I'm a high school teacher, and so work with students that may be ADD students. Plus, my brother is ADD, as is I suspect, my husband. I don't believe I am, so I don't know how to relate. As a teacher, I need to be able to relate. Your videos shed some insights on the subject for me, and for that I am truly grateful.

Thank you so much for everything you do!

  • I have A.D.H.D. and my meds make me even more hyper than I already am. two pluuu...... BUTTERFLY! That's what I had to deal with as a kid. When I was having a hard time I would practice slip knots or take the razor blades out of a little pencil sharpeners and cut myself. I still have the scars. I would and still fast. I also have dislexia. It's still too hard.

  • i have A.D.H.D and Aspergers syndrome, embarrassing enough when o got tested for it my scores were so bad that the doctors laugh at me. But without this gift I wouldnt be who I am. I love being spontaneous and over imaginative and creative. the only problem to me is that I feel like sometimes I cant control my actions and tend to go out of the control, and also getting the feeling of be squirmy. Ive followed Mr. Safety for a long time and these adhd videos have made me respect him even more :)

  • On your video of "The Truth of My Disorder" you said thattb you had a daughter so I have a question about her. How old is she ? Does she live with you ? When is her birthday ? Ok that's it, too many questions about her :) I noticed you got a little mustache. Well See Ya

  • I don't suffer from ADHD I love every minute of it

  • i have A.D.H.D

  • Sry I'm using an iPad and hit send but yea I cant fall asleep well at night and but I sorta hav an appetite I zone out in school. But honestly who can tell me they have never once in ther life zoned out in class what I'm saying is the medicine I take does hav it's downs but it helps me focus and stay on task and the high school I go to OSA college prep and if I don't stay focused I'm screwd so I ned to take it right now

  • I have ADHD and I'm in high school I started taking my medicine I don't even remember when but I've never really felt depressed and yea I c

  • @KateOfPoland I have both ADD and Asbergers and if I don't take my medicine Iam angry and grumpy but I only take one dosage a day and it works and I don't care about what all the idiots that say medicine doesn't work because it does.

  • I have ADHD I have been taking medicine and I'm already past the allowed adult dose. but I dont care because It's my advantage. i find stuff that most people wouldnt be interested in. I can focus better in school. I have so much better grades now then i did before. ADHD has been my strength not my disorder. I wouldnt want to live without it, because it makes me a more creative and funny person so Thank you God for making me like this.

  • @me61840 u might. I know I do! And that 1 chick who reads fast I read really fast! I have an 11 GRADE READING LEVEL! and I'm in 7th grade!

  • I don't know if I have add or not beacaus when I was whatching this vid I start to space out then I was thinking random things. Somebody tell me if I have it or not?????

  • love the discription, "why do i have a beard?"

  • There is a kid from my school that has ADHD, but his parents wouldn't give him any medication. At the time when he first joined the school, I thought that he had"cheap parents" or just looked down on the fact they wont give him medication, but now he is gotten a lot better (without medication) and I now realise how smart his parents actually were! The medications are there so drug companies can make money!

  • I have Bad A.D.H.D They diagnosed me when I was 4 Im 14 now they put me on adderal and after taking it for so long it pretty much stops working but yet your body is so used to it that it can't function properly without it. oh and guess what causing gall stones is a side effect and last year I had to have my gall bladder removed because of over 60 stones caused by the fucking pills that are supposed to help me

  • You know what I HAVE A.D.D I AM NOT EMBASREST ABOUT IT!

  • WOA CORY WITH BEARD!

  • thankyou you opend my eyes to the world.

  • 260p we meet again

  • Hey I am 56 and I am ADD inattentive. Knew all my life that I was different, but now I know why. Brain runs all the time. I try to direct my energy towards something creative, but most of the time I can't finish what I start. Cory, how do you do it?

  • I have adhd

  • i have a.d.d ad when i was young i had a.d.h.d so my parents got me meds to help me consentrate in school. they worked for about a couple months before i started getting a sharp pain in my chest when ever i tired to do things like run or stuff that worked my heart and it turned out that there was a side effect of the medicine that could hurt me heart so i stopped takeing it and for about a year or 2 i had a weak heart and couldnt exersize very well without my heart hurting.

  • I believe i have add :3 I'm not diagnosed, or taking meds, but i still think i do, and i LOVE how creative i am, you should see the things i come up with when i'm in art class or when i draw xD I don't get why people take medication in the first place though, judging by what the people said, they do better without it :/

  • @DrayDray72 no. i am very diagnosed, and if i didn't take my meds, i am 100% sure i would flunk out of school through my pure inability to focus on the subject matter in class.

  • @DrayDray72 I take medicine and it works because I take it regularly and correctly maybe some people can't keep up with the regular dosage. Also I have ADD but Iam not creative at all.

  • i have ADD, in my mind is busy, my creativity is good, i forget the subject what i did after going other stuffs for a while, it make me want to do crazy things, it make me lazy, make me speak faster, make me read faster, my IQ is not good, my rhymes is good, i speak very creative and i never take medicine...And i'm suffering being human.

  • I have A.D.H.D. and I'm fine, no meds, nothing. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that I have it, I would be myself, I'd be what every one else wanted me to be. You may say I have a disorder, but is it really a disorder? Maybe you're the one with the disorder mr.perfect(By that I mean the people that would make fun of you or say you "Suffer" from A.D.D.) in today's society, the people that say you're different are just jealous of your ability to be free from the crowd, and live your own life.

  • am creative because i have A.D.H.D

  • @thefantastickone Iam not very creative because of ADD and Asbergers.

  • people with ADHD Should Smoke Weed!!!

Slows you down... keeps you creative... makes you hungry and not lazy.. NO DEPRESSION.. Makes You happier then REAL DRUGS!!

  • my mind is messy and full of 'creativity'

  • You look creepy with a beard Cory. xD

  • i have dyslixiea but i am not awshamed

  • i agree, A.D.D. is a different, not a disorder

  • cory? focus man focus

  • I dont know if i do or dont have Add or adhd but i Believe i do, i need medication, i believe it will change my life for the better

  • Cory I had goosebumps while watching all of this video. Amazing.

  • I feel so sad for them and every one that have a disorder

  • @rakiboii its not a disorder man, its a girft!

  • When I stare at a screen watching someone else do somthing stupid I forget my add and it's like taking a med with no side affects

  • @Roche2edrt blindness is a side effect just saying

  • @TheBlindfaith666 i know blind faith lol yea i know i can go blind and im wearing glasses that are 2 inches thick that help me see far away

  • @utube1359 wow

  • The Irony is we're helpful to others but not ourselves like earth angels , wish we had an insurance system . the very thing we need help in , keeps us from getting help . Good luck to those with poor support groups we'll need it *_*

  • Why don't we have a community ? We act like immortals from Highlander . Attention is a big part of cognition n that's why we often need support groups . That I could never get use to . Good luck 2 all my gifted family . Love Harrison ^_^

  • Wow ..

  • I'm in a gifted class in schoo for kids that are smart, according to the teachers. well, last year (the 2010-11 school year), the teacher of the class didnt treat us fairly. we were 7th graders, but he treated us like college students. we were all basically set up to fail and he would give us all crap about it. he said that we all had ADD n OCD, n he put it all negatively & made everyone feel terrible. but honestly, probably most of us really do have these gifts,n im happy to have them. thanks(:

  • I don't call my ADHD by it's given name.I call it ADHG (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Gift)

  • thank you for helping me understand the wayi am i have A.D.H.D. and i couldnt under stand why i act the way i do

  • This was helpful for me to connect with my brother. He has ADHD and I wasn't able to understand him and the way he is. This helped me a lot, thanks Cory!

  • i have adhd and this vid is so much like me

some times i don't eat for a day and they force me to eat

  • i take that medecin(redelin)i hate it cuz i starve myself

  • I have my ADD investigation on monday after one year of waiting! I'm so nervous I dont know what to do with myself. Talk about concentration problems! :S Wish me luck!

  • @Ixxithedog good luck ;-)

  • @Sarah20461 thanks :) I caught a tremendous cold, so I'm still waiting. *sigh*

  • my meds dipressed me and ya i focased but it wasnt on happy things... if you ask me id rather think about ten happy things for 10 seconeds each than 1 dipressing thing for ten minutes so i just stoped all together my grade avrg droped but i was still above most of my classmates

  • i also have add i can just sit there think without hearing any one

  • lol at 1:26 i have adhd and i can totality see myself runing down a street with a basket on my head :3

  • I, Have autism. But "ONLY" Focusing Problem's Cause I get bored fast & Addictions to Computer's. I Wish I Could Also get Girl's But I Go to an Autistic School. their All Fat & Ugly, It's Not Their Fault Either. A.D.H.D Is Nothing to feel "Bad" About, From other Disorder's.

  • i have A.D.H.D TO :(

  • hey,

I don't ever send famous youtubers messages because they never read it.

I was wondering if you could put your T-shirt in your store, the one that says

"Believe" on the front and "I believe A.D.D is a gift, not my disorder."

I would buy it and i bet lots of other people would too. :) Another Good idea for the same shirt. Do one for A.D.D and A.D.H.D

    From,

    A Believer.

  • most of this stuff isnt what adhd is i have it trust me!!!! nand its not a sad thing i think of it aas a gift or something that i can use to my advantage

  • @TheCoolTeam Cory does.

  • @TheCoolTeam thats a great idea

  • Wow. I've been depressed for a few months now & I had a feeling that it may be my adderall. This video just proves my suspicions. Thank you so much. I'm talking to my doctor. This is so inspiring.

  • corey you have the same thing as me im special ed i have disoder its called deficit attion

  • Comment removed

  • When I was younger, my mom forced the doctors to put me on Ridilin even though I didnt have add or adhd, Now I think I do, but yeah its who I am =D

  • ADD stands for Attention Deficit... ooh, Dragonfly!

  • my brothers and I have adhd. Legit, apparantly some people fake stuff like it for attention or so they can be stupid. I take meds, (and I have no problems with them I have the right dose and the right help) I'm happy with my life and my adhd doesn't get in my way. The only problem i have is if I forget and i have a mix of withdrawel and hyperactivity (doesn't happen often thank god)

  • This is inspiration for me.

    I fookin hate medications.

  • touching tribute to all of us. thanks

  • There is a kid in my school with ADD. He is really hyper when he doesn't take his medicine.

  • @Marcellodesign2 That would be ADHD instead of ADD *should know, has ADHD herself*

  • @Marcellodesign2 that sounds like me

  • @Marcellodesign2 Too fucking bad.. Deal with it..

  • @Marcellodesign2 That would be ADHD. ADD has nothing to do with hyperactivity.

  • @Marcellodesign2 that is ADHD, not ADD

  • my son have ADD+anxity , after the doctor insists that med is the only way to help him, we tried medication ,too much side effects vomiting depression and crying for hours for no reason we stopped tried vensse for 4 days and things got worse i'll never ever put my son through med again for ADD,, he is doing better as he grow up i notice he can manage better, noticed all his friends have same problem,i think they understand each other more, anyway i feel for all who has ADD take care

ADHD can be helpful i''ve come up with wonderful idea of a book series taht i hope will be the next Harry Potter series.

  • ADHD... and I'm Senior class favorite at my high school!

  • my pinssable is a ass becus he seid it mean .a.demented.dude.

  • i think i might hav it cus i had truble even what movie to wach and i only hav 2 so i am thinking do u guys think i hav the gift??????

  • one of my freinds says that ADHD is a myth

  • @dingo596 I have ADHD so you can tell your friend that it ain't a myth =.=

  • @dingo596

not according to SCIENCE. there is proof that it exists. It's a neurobiological disorder affecting the neurotransmitters in the brain (im taking anatomy so I know these hard words. i realize some people may not know what the $#%^ I am saying).

I know you know this, your friend is the one saying that. But do me a favour, toss a book about adhd at him. The library probably has some. He could do with a good smack.

  • i used to take medication and it would always make me depressed as well, i hated it, im 5 years "sober" from taking the medication im doing good without it

  • technically ADD is ADHD, so technically there are two types of ADHD- active, and inactive. I have the active type, so, since Mr. Safety said he had ADD, that technically means that he has inactive ADHD. also I have a learning disability, not to mention that i have a hard to explain personality.

  • Holy crap, you have ADD I have ADHD and I benefit it and beome creative

  • @Twihard546 ME TO ADHD ROCKS

  • adhd is not as bad as these guys are talking about, this is sob story shit!

    riddelin rules, btw! lol.

with adhd you can have such a g... ooohhh shiny!!!!

  • @bwfmaine

Medicine is not an exact science. Everyones body is different, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Their metabolism can be different, the amount of different hormones and chemicals in their bodies, allergies, their weight and height, their diet, so many things. Your medication might not work on someone else. Some people do have "sob stories" about medication. There are warning labels on those bottles. It didnt work for them

  • My son and I both have ADHD. I have found through the years it was challenging at times. Mostly for the people around me that had to listen to my thoughts out loud whether they wanted to or not. I have become very successful with this crazy part of me that seems to never quit. Do I take medicine? Yes, I do now. I have tried varies forms of medicine, and yes some do make you feel anxious, depressed, but sure help you stay focused! After years of just learning to live with it, I just never gave u

  • My son and I both have a:

  • is there to divid to conquer

  • Danigirl00 will now give me nightmares! 0.0

  • i think jim Carrey has ADHD: his thin, his hyper active (both in movies and in real life) hes an entertainer etc etc etc. pls do not post any negative comments becuse im only 13 and extremely stuped, i almost tought bout killing myself today becuse im a violent person, i broke my TV becuse i got mad bout CoD Black Ops.... tell me is this hormones or should i go to a mental hospital, im deadly serious!

  • @Hellislose Lol ur normal

  • @mixerjason thx :)

  • At 4:40 the guy named GeneticBlend states a great point. I haven't figured out what to eliminate in my diet, but I know what he says is a truth. The medications did not work for me (in my opinion). They increased my intellect by leaps and bounds, but it did not slow me down. I quit taking any meds, and decided to just let people around me suffer.

  • I took the medicine when iwas 5 to 9 i was depressed lazy dident do anything but watch tv never wanted to eat i was underweight.

  • ADHD can be a blessing when it meets the perfect life conditions.People may have had parents to help them along in life and care for their needs. I in the other hand people from the lower tires of society NEED to be in control of their life in order to rise above and have a functional life. It is safe to say that a poor person may not have the chance to become an artist and instead may have to go through a lot of school to get somewhere, THAT is where it becomes a problem and not a gift

  • to help focus it kinda helped but i wouldnt recomend anyone else try it its not worth the later side effects

  • i have ADD borderlind HD sorry i still stick by diagonis i was given at age 7 by pedatracain back in 92 i dont know nota on new termonoglgy do to not wanting make other health issues worse didnt want to have to medicate me wich would have if labled it adhd. i dont care what its called im 25 ive learned to live with it its part of me. when younger would always multitask and i was told when first diagonsed as altertintive to medication half can of pop in morning and half can in evening caffinated

  • heavily underweight...

    this works how?

  • Thumbs up if you watch 1000 Ways to Die for Obvious Reasons

  • But I didn't know that Adderall had negative affects on some people. I thought it was such a Godsend when I was prescribed it, for the reasons I stated before. I have to thank God for my gift, and even though it causes more of a difficulty in school, it helps me thrive in my love for the Arts. I'm also very lucky being 16 with ADHD that my parents support me and give me the help I need with this "disorder".

My name is Megan, and I don't suffer from ADHD. I thrive from it.

  • I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2008 while in the eighth grade, right now I'm a sophomore in highschool. I take Adderall which helps me focus my erratic thoughts into pretty awesome things that otherwise would still be awesome, but the road to this finished thought, artwork, song, or Halloween costume would constantly be changing. It does suppress my appetite which is bringing me out of my awkward chub-child stage, and I'm really becoming a defined person, and finding who I really am. (tobecont.)

  • I've had trouble focusing and reading (skiping paragraphs of words) all my life. When I talked to my folks about having ADD because of my inablity to focus I was laughed at by my mother then scolded my my father.

I'm thankful with whatever I have distracting me that I can function with it without taking meds. I'm an artist and being such my distractions inspire a lot of my work, being me is important, so I'm proud to be the way I am, distracted and all.

  • im on concerta and i lost my appetite....it's beggining to come back but i mean when I do eat I eat healthy

  • i have ADHD and i use to take pills when i was young.....but over the years iv'e learned to control it without a pill....the ADHD pill slows down your weight, height, and makes you really depressed.....when i was in like 6th grade i was 90pounds and about 4"11..but after i got off the pill and got to 7-8th grade 140pounds 5"5................so your not alone cory

  • Hey man I just wanted to say that Im a fan of your movies and you have inspired me to make my own videos so thanks, and the rest of you guys can check them out if you want on my channel and give me some feedback good or bad

  • @crazzy1656 adhd is that hyer easily or seek atention. i know this cos i have it and have to have a tablet everyday before school or if were going out somewhere because i get bored easily

  • Look I hate this one Cory! I have ADHD and I take medication for it but i didnt lose weight, become deppresed, or shake uncontrolably!!!!!!! I'm just normal and with this medication all it does is help you pay attention to somthing but it doesn't cancle out your ADHD or ADD you still do everything that comes with it but you can pay attention to the teacher or buisness partner or whatever you take it for so Mr. veagen and that drama queen person and the laundry basket dude NEED TO SHUT UP!

  • @1iamnotaffraid yh i dont have any of those and i have ADHD and have to take tablets

  • @1iamnotaffraid It's great that the medication helps you, it really is. But people react differently to all sorts of medication. People have different side effects, you are lucky that you are free from side effects. Just because it works for you doesn't mean it has to work for everyone else. It's simple as that and it's easy to acknowledge that.

  • i don't think "disorders" as disorders

it's just a different way for a brain to work

i bet every human can be put in one category of some sort of "disorder"

    i personally have Asperger syndrom

never made me sad having it

it maybe not make me "normal" when it comes to socializing (i bet my name stand under "antisocial" in the wordbook)

and everyone is like "ohh that's terrible, poor you"

they are telling a person how not care about being social how sad it is that they're not being social?

  • @crazzy1656 attention dephiset disorder/ADD/attention dephiset hyperactive disorder/ADHD

  • i literally live with it my 3 brothers 1 sister and my father have it

  • I have ADHD, but now turning to ADD

Because i am Starting to not take the RITALIN.

BTW i hadn't taken it for 3 months and taken it 2w ago... I felt weird.

  • Ouch! Her parents PAID her to take her medicine. Thats so sad. It is tough to see your child suffer and watch your child try to understand why they are the way they are. : (

  • I mostly finish reading any book (In Spanish or English) in one sitting it takes me a day or two (I need to know how it ends) And I remember and understand most of it... Last Harry Potter book I finished it in one day in a half. I Guess I never really knew how normal I am. :(

  • People act like ADD and ADHD are a bad thing. I have ADD, but it's not all that bad. I taught myself to focus my attention and energy from ADD. I do take a pill. But, hey, it's better than ODD, which my sister has. Quit acting like it's such a big deal, quit over-reacting.

  • I have ADD and i take ritalin. It helps me alot, but that doesn't matter because: I'm just one person and my experience is just one experience. People who have bad experiences with stimulants should by all means tell it to others. But don't go around telling other people that they shouldn't take it because YOU had a bad experience... They might not. I don't. So bah! In your face, you know i'm right!

  • Holy shit I commented on this video so many times. That i made a page of my comments.

  • @philofthefuturr You shouldn't... it almost makes you think so slow that Your brain makes a snail look like a Perigene Falcon. AKA the fastest bird

  • @philofthefuturr You mean. "101 people Can't Experience the best part of life"

  • @robloxworld98 Fuck you >:{ freak

  • i don't have ADHD although i think i do i was tested on my school for it and it also revealed that i had 136 IQ thats when i was 6 now i have that but because of something i never got to hear what i cant use that something with concentration probably and i have hyperactivity as well soo

  • the same can be said of most disorders. I'm pretty sure I have mild OCD, but I find it's an asset more than a disorder. When I'm motivated, everything is tidy and clean.

  • I dun think it is bad to have (although I do not have it I think???) it probably is like being able to be more creative like many have said and being able to think faster(?) so it is more like a extension for ur mind to think deeper at the cost of not being able to focus easily(?)

  • i remember when i was taking the pills i was considering all the methods of suicide.... truly a dark time in my life. ADD RULES

  • @kiyoko0369 Same here but i am Really trying to convince my parents to stop forcing me to take the pills.

  • hmm idk why i reed so fast... i cant spell at all why CAN i reed so fast ?_?

  • Ik how it like and stuff I was digniost with ADHD and ashburgers when I was five I am 15 now. But when I get teased and bullied I tell them that idc wat u say about me this is my special gift that God gave me And that's wat makes me me

  • It's my gift and I can cry If I want to

  • Comment removed

  • Well try being colorblind

  • i used to be on concerta, and my friends never wanted to hangout when i was medicated because i was no fun.

  • I don't think medicine is always a bad thing. Maybe for some people, but my siblings are a lot easier to deal with and my brother makes funnier jokes when he can string two sentances together. I respect everyone's opinion on this topic (and pretty much any other topic) I'm just giving y'all my opinion.

  • @Repremender Wtf XD

  • is there a such thing as mild add?

if there is i might have it

  • The hyperactivity, however, is different than others. Due to my ability to finish multiple things at once, i get bored, and i resort to trying to sleep, but i can't. It's really damn annoying. And strange, people think i'm lazy, yet, when exposed to any kind of physical interaction, i instantly start bouncing off the walls. Doing random wallruns and such, climbing the bleachers, etc. People say I'm strange, I say I'm normal, with a gift

  • It's strange. I've always thought I had something different. Now, listening to this video, nearly every thing these people say has something to do with something I do. Now I know what I have, so it's good to know. I like my ADHD, it makes me unique. And if i had any doubts, every symptom fits me to a T. I am me, and this is my gift, not a disorder

  • i have A.D.H.D. and its hard sometimes but over the years i finally founded out how to stop but i still can easily lose it .

  • i may have ADHD

  • As a small side note, doctors are starting to recommend a sleep study for children who test positive for ADHD; a large number of these kids actually are sleep deprived due to sleep apnea (a problem where you don't get the air you need at night. In most kids, their tonsils are to blame) pediatric sleep deprivation mimics ADHD exactly. Think about testing before you through the ordeal of medication...

  • im being completely serious here. i turned to drugs during highschool. completely gave up on life. but the thing is as soon as i started smoking weed i felt so optimistic about life made me want to succeed. ended up bringing my grades back up into the high 80's. now im in the air force trying my best to succeed. doing good so far. i have ADD by the way. JUST BECAUSE WEED WORKED FOR ME DOESNT MEAN IT WILL WORK FOR YOU. IF YOU WANNA TRY DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

  • @doublexnchuck it works for me :)

  • @doublexnchuck
