  • Hi all.. make sure you look at the links in the video profile... they lead to photo examples. Thanks. Hatch

  • thanks alot

but it would be better if you show some results

  • now, can u make another tutorial for those who have cheap camera and no flash! thanks :-)

  • Nothing to do with the gear... it is the technique... you can pull off the same shots with a less expensive flash and camera.

  • @hatch1921

  • Great video, love the shots too!

  • Did you call the plumber afterwards? j/k lol Great work!!!!

I'm going to try this thanks for the inspiration. :)

  • you dont show the picture :(

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial!

  • You are welcome. Glad you liked it.

    Hatch

  • what shutter speed do you recomend ?

  • For high speed pictures you want the flash to be the predominant light, so as a general rule you pick the fastest shutter speed that your camera will still allow flash photography. This helps reduce the effect of ambient light. Reducing the aperture can help also... if you can get the exposure due to ambient light to about 7 stops under exposed, you are effectively shooting in a dark room and the flash will provide the only light.

  • Inspiring! I just got a macro lens, so water drops are being added to my list of subjects to try... I actually shot an icicle the other day, should have thought about liquid water! :)

  • I have the fuji finepix s5700

I saw some great water droplet pictures taken with it, but i dont know how they do it.

I would appreciate some help if you could.

  • i think so and how was it conected

  • The 430 isn't connected... the 580 is connected with the off shoe camera cord. The 430 will fire when the 580 triggers it. The 430 was set to slave and the 580 to master... the 580 emits a eam to trigger the 430.

    Hope this helps.

    Hatch

  • how do you fire the blue gel reflected flash?

  • Hi there,

The 430ex was set to slave... so when the 580ex fired... it would cause the 430 to fire as well. Hope this helps. :)

    Hatch

  • sorry. I saw it. Love ur macro stuff.

  • cheersmate. would have a flickr site? just curious.

  • Where could I find the final image at?

  • Read the description :)

  • Requires only one response

  • Thank you very much for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. :) Hatch

  • Thanks for posting the video here and the other info at dpreview. I am going to need a macro lens so that I can give this a try.

  • Thanks Hatch!

  • nice! what did you use to trigger the flash under the dish?

  • The 580ex was set to master... the 430ex was set the slave. When the 580 fires it triggers the 430 to fire. Hope this helps. Hatch

  • Nice Tips !!!

  • The final photo turned out very cool.

  • Thank you very much!
