brilliant video just shows that newcastle airport can hold the size of the boeing 747 on the runway as this video shows plenty of clearance left on the runway :D

Me and my friend usually go to the other side the Runway where you can't see much :(! but yesterday he said 'Newcastle Airport is too small for a 747' now I get to show him our airport's amazing! :D Also what device do you use to capture the radio communications from the control tower? yeah it was a one off from british airways one world my friend was on there and said it was shocking to take off in small time :D

I didn't know 747's could land at Newcastle airport, I've never seen one land there

@chocolatemonster07 You get a lot of diverted aircraft which tend to be 747 Heavy/777's even 340's land at Newcastle. I do believe they can use them but its not price efficent with all the costs at Newcastle. Also if you check the wingspan engines 1-4 are pretty much over the grass and if I remember rightly they kept on knocking down some of the lights!

clinton parker1 is wrong the 777 doe not land in NCL it is the emirates a330-200 or 100 not sure it is only 20 metres high from where i live in ncl i was also on my hols when this happend in my garden sundenly a felt an earthquake was the 747 :D

Its not particularly short, shorter than most but capable of handling an AN-124.

Anyways, this A/C would have had pretty much empty fuel tanks thus lightening the A/C alot!

I was also on this flight and that takeoff really was awesome. I have to admit, the runway looked remarkably short when we turned onto it! A very enjoyable flight, thanks for sharing this video!

Excellent video, i was on board this flight, the rolling take off was incredible, spoke to the pilot at Heathrow, told me the take off weight was 270 tons compared with 380 tons for a Bangkok- Heathrow flight, 110 tons lighter, boy did it feel good. Many thanks for sharing your video. Gary
