the other weapons that bungie put in halo are similar to playing a game on very easy vs playing i on a hard level. sure, very easy can be fun because it takes little skill or effort to get a kill, but hard means you actually had to get good at the game. hence, mlg not having all those weapons and extras like power drains and vehicles. if bungie only put mlg, people who dont like trying to get better would stop playing. notice how many more people play team slayer vs mlg.

I'm fairly certain that Bungie wouldn't ever have only MLG even if they would still have the same size community. Considering it wasn't there to begin with, and they don't have control over what goes in it. I'm just pointing that out because you said "Bungie only put MLG, people-" which, imo, says you think that Bungie would keep only MLG given the same size community.
They didnt have the gametype "MLG" the whole time, but they have had the same concept since the gametype "Hardcore for Halo 2 which was extremely similar. For the record, I think playing to get good is fun. I do play social with a friend of mine and we play multi-team and I usually rape. on KOTH in multi I go about 50/60 kils to 20ish deaths. But to me it is boring, unfortunatly my friend would rather beat bad people than get better. Just like I hate shotty/snipe games. Shotty is a handicap
unfortunatly, people hate loosing to help themselves improve. theyd rather play a social slayer game with guests who they can throw a poer drain at and throw nades after them, than improve their aim with a br. thats why people quit so many mlg games, they cant handle being behind & coming back or simply loosing to a better opponant which would later help them improve their own gameplay. i mean seriously, getting in a warthog with a turret vs people with assault rifles. thats the very easy mode
u r 100% correct I've been playin mlg a lot more and i actually can out br kids tht are way better then me.........it depends if you rather play to have fun or play to get better! i prefer both
