  • I have always wanted to try real ramen!

  • Awesome ... looks so yummy. Naruto's fav dish made more real for me lol

  • I used to love listening to Hide n Seek (background music at ramen place). random, anyway

Yea, I went to a ramen place in Japantown, and was surprised by all the people slurping. I guess it turns out I was the weird one for not slurping.

  • good job on ya video =)

  • not even one mexican food place in japan?

  • @link0587 tokyofoodie. com/ 2008/05/24/mexican/ apparently there IS mexican food in tokyo.

  • i think i could eat ramen which is good cos i dont like the look of sushi so much ;p

  • Don't Kid Around With Those Ramen Comas...My Uncle Never Woke Up...lol

  • Chili Gazette??

lolol, man you bring tears to my eyes ;)

    kp

  • Your comedy voice reminds me of David Schwimmer.

    Makes me chuckle.

  • 2 things, Shave and white your teets

  • "Chilli Gazette" lmao

Do you do stand-up? I'd really like to see more:)

    Please?♥

    ~Layla

  • @darkfeather111 he's a funny dude in his videos, but please...no more stand up

  • I haven't even been to Japan yet and that would be the one food I would miss the most. :) Gotta love to Japan

  • While in Japan I liked the ramen but truthfully I was a fan of the Kitsune Soba in a little shipping place near Kiyomizu Dera. It was bloody delicious.

  • In China vegetarian ramen means noodles + chilli + beef

  • *laughs* Ramen coma. Oh my goodness.

  • hahaha "WHAT THE FUCK CAN YOU WRITE ABOUT RAMEN?!?!?!"

  • Ramen Alley in Sapporo is heaven.

  • on average how much does a bowl of ramen cost

  • first of all do u like to travel or why do u move a lot lol

if i was u and living in japan i would never leave XD

and ramen ? pfffst i eats cup noodles!! booyhaa!! lol beat that <.<

  • vegetarian ramen. It all noodles. lol

  • I love japan! I miss the mass amount of people and the shopping :p

  • when you say "why" in your act, you remind me of john pinette

  • Beer in england is classed as a food because of the high calorie count.

  • ramen was mentioned in mass effect 2 ....

    i dont know y i had 2 say that .... yh....

  • Gyoza is just heaven... it just is you know ;)

I've had a load of ramen also but for me gyoza is even better then ramen ;)

  • Wow your videos really make me want to spend all my savings in a trip to Tokyo

And you lived in London!? awesome man! that's #2 in my list! dang I'm jealous...

  • You said it right--you will miss the food where you lived. When I think of Japan I always think of food.

Ramen, gyoza, dekavitaC, Chiroru chocolates, and Aquarius.

    Ahhhh....someday, once again

  • @mustangrebus I agree its been a while myself and the tonkatsu...well I still think about it. Good ramen has to have shiro soba noodles and in my case topped with gyoza or on the side with that vinegar dipping sauce. Oh god the withdrawl symptoms are coming back I have to phone my therapist.

  • lmao i cant believe i know the song in the background at the ramen shop! + this makes me extremely hungry! :(

  • man makes me hungry! i love Taisho-ken ramen(maybe not tokyocooney's taste)! anyway im tired of hearing which country is first or who stole what shit. whats the godam point of saying that? it will never change you better? who in the western countries with lots of invention brag we invented that, you stole this...shit like that... . Please! at least my fellow japanese! stop it! more you brag, more miserable your country will look.

  • when i visit japan i lived off of Ramen. It really was my main food source. i think a better analogy would be calling McDonalds 1$ hamburger a hamburger made from prime beef cooked on a charcoal grill with cheez, lettus, tomatos and all the works.

  • i wana eat ramen to.

i mean i love the instant noodles wich i eat atleast twice a week.

i wonder how addicted to real ramen i would be :P

  • whats the differnce between fry noodle and noodle?! ONE FRY!

  • is that joke still apart of your bit?

  • rctsos: If so, please cite your source. Until then, I do believe that noodles originated to China.

When you talk about the middle Asian area, do you mean the Middle East/Central Asia? Around which modern-day country do you say the noodles came from? I'm interested to know.

  • what kinda ramen was that? was it spicy?

  • Oh, and chopsticks, too, but all those East Asian countries in China's cultural sphere or whatever, being influenced by China back then, use chopsticks regularly today. And there are slight differences in the chopstick's width and shape and such. Interesting, eh?

narutowatcher54 - True, I can't image that that would be healthy. Personally, I also dislike sushi, because I don't favor fish or most seafood (except for [flavored] seaweed). But I absolutely love ramen . . . mhm.

  • There are several things from Japan that originated from China, such as the kimono and their writing system (hiragana, katakana, and kanji). But Japan altered the things to make it Japanese, and most of the time, it's more used in Japan than China. The kimono comes from the hanfu, but people recognize China's traditional costume to be the qipao, not the hanfu, although i don't agree. Hiragana and katakana are both changed enough from the original Chinese characters. Yeah . . .

  • lol thanks for the upload. I could totally see Naruto going crazy in that ramen shop :)

  • Tokyo Japan 2011 baby hell yeah! :D

  • what do u do for a living?

  • I really would like to see more of your comedy Kevin. Or have you been stuck on doing things for work to have time for comedy?

  • The Japanese stole ramen from China, haha.

I love ramen though. My boyfriend can make an incredible broth for ramen.

  • Ramen for Japanese is like Fish&Chips for British, Kebabs for German.

  • Either that, or Yorkshire puddings ;)

  • Omg, strange comedian you are :D but i suppose it's normal there^^

  • You've prolly noticed being there so long, but the Japanese will make a magazine about anything and everything. If you can think of it, it has a magazine.

  • the last frame there were you finished eating was amazing haha

  • YUM!!! Do they make vegetarian ramens?

  • It's very uncommon, but they do exist.

  • I gotta stop watching ramen videos before dinner. *sigh* I wish I lived in Japan.

  • that coma was kinda short LOL

  • lool chili gazette

  • Comment removed

  • I'm Japanese and people always say if I make sushi every night it sucks, and I don't I eat Ramen all the time :3

    And I hate sushi...

  • itadakemasu!

    .__.

    ily ur vids.

  • The Itis- The general feeling of lethargy and well-being experienced after eating a satisfying meal. This phenomena is particularly triggered by foods high in carbohydrates and meats containing the amino acid tryptophan. Just thought I'd give you the textbook definition for that feeling you have after eating ramen.

  • I'd love to live in Japan, but I would prefer to live in one of the more rural areas. Tokyo is a little too big for me. It would be a nice place to visit though.

  • do they have beef ramen o.o or chicken?.?

  • Usually... just pork. Though there are a few specialty places that do other kinds, even vegetarian.

  • thank you soo much and how much is 1 dollar canadian in yen o.o or any other dollar

  • Google

  • i don't need Google when there is someone who knows it more and plus i already did and found a website which closed and i forgot how much 1 dollar Canadian is in japan >.> T-T so i want to find out Google is kinda out of the question for now -_-

  • A dollar Canadian is around 80 yens.

  • thank you very much =^o^=

  • Beer is a food! XD

  • lol clam chowder weekly

  • this dude must have an excelent school historicl cuz if he ever lived in all those places it must be bcuz of work ...ikd just thinking out lad

  • lol transmission stick

  • ramen coma - laughed so much, so true!!!

  • didnt laugh once too

  • The mere lack of choice of food types sucks in Crapan ...sorry tell it how it is ...take your camera to a supermarket and show the world that we pay up to $3 at times for one freaking apple ... Every fruit juice on the shelf is made of a concentrate and not whole fruit ...regardless to weather its imported or not and it can cost over $5 easy if it is ... Fuck ramen !!! cholesterol nightmare (fist full of egg noodles swimming in pork fat soup) eat it 3-4 times a week and we will see

  • lol it isnt all porkfat broth there are many varieties

  • You do seem depressed o.o

    Possible NEET?

Have a nice hot bowl of ramen and have a good day :3

  • Boitch? Is that German? :3

I'm sorry, but I still go to school ^^ I'm also going to a ball party in bout a month too :3

Your Japanese friends said that? I'm not surprised XD

Since they are probably part of your depression circle :)

Japans Great, even my white friends admit it and love it LOL

  • ^.^

Once school is over I'll become a teacher with the qualifications I have (for english), but I will certainly teach them about life :3 Hmm? Depends on what stuff they are~ I saved a cat from drowning before... but you can judge that yourself ;3

  • Ball parties aint so common anymore~ Plus it's a school event till midnight. I would love to go out to pubs and drink all out, but I turn 18 in 2 weeks... so I can't do so yet T.T

Plus I'm single, so I can enjoy life a lil more just by hanging out with girls and boys in the city :3

  • F.A.G

Funny Acceptal Guy~ Why thank you :3

  • mmm ramen looks yummy lol can you make a cooking video to show everyone how you actually make it

  • we don't even have instant Ramen in Canada. :(

  • Sure we do. There's also ramen restaurants in my part of Canada.

  • really? where do you live? well I live in Mississauga its near Toronto. I've seen a lot of sushi places. But no ramen.

  • omg, i live in mississauga too and i've been looking for ramen restaurants, but =/

  • Oh, okay. I live in Vancouver in BC. Just had ramen today with a friend and it was fine. But there's still way more sushi shops than ramen places.

  • omg the song in background, love it

  • But, Kevin, beer IS food...liquid bread.

  • hey kevin u said that the ramne shop u filmed was number 24 but theres only 15 in the map u provided in the description box

  • your skits are funny. lol@ 3:35 lol.

  • Wow, in my opinion you have seemed to have been almost everywhere...keyword: almost. I wonder if it was hectic to move so much? X_X

  • If or when i go to Japan ima eat all the ramen that i can eat. Even if i turn into a noodle myself, lol.

  • i eat instant ramen all the time, but i GOTTA get to japan to taste the real thing!

Once I get off that plane, that's the first thing i'm buying!

  • Pork inhalation haha

  • wow I have to try that

  • LOL

I love you Tokyo Cooney!! <3

I want to go to Japan before 2010.

  • As a frequent flyer to Japan (my wife is Japanese) Ramen is good, I have a friend who loves it, for me yeeeaahh. If you're in Vancouver, Canada..we have Ramen shops because of the huge Japanese poulation here..in fact..6 or seven places, authentic Ramen within blocks from my apartment. I'm pretty lucky I guess. Hey Cooney I'll be in Yokohama for the first 3 weeks in February..I like what you're doing here..you're sort of giving me an idea with the Vlog. JAPAN RULES

  • Now I need to find a ramen shop nearby.

  • yes, you can find ramen shop in the UK. There is one ramen shop called wakamama in London. They might have some other chain stores. Go look up on the internet.

  • it sucks you cant find ramen in the uk

  • O.O if I love the instant ramen here in America... I wonder how good the ramen in Japan must taste! REALLY WANT RAMEN IN TOKYO!

  • Ohh man now I want some curry-ramen!

  • wow i must have sojme now. btw u kinda remind of tom green for some funny reason

  • I think Guinness counts as a food.

  • Your beer cravings are natural, Europe, and Britain is well known for its real alcohol. ;P

Mine is Yakisoba noodles. Yeah, I know you said they were bad but different strokes for different folks, I crave a real plate of Yakisoba noodles. Miso soup as well.

  • I love how Ramen is so hot when it is served to u

  • i been livein off of top ramen for like 2 weeks and this makes me want to vomit.....

  • the only thing I was thinking about while watching this is I must go to japan and eat some Ramen...and now I am hungy^.~

  • i love tokyo!!!ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (losing my mind) ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • do you know what this little white thing with the pink spiral on top of ramen is called? and what exactly is it?

  • It's tofu. I still love ramen.

  • thanks^^ me too!

  • That's called naruto-maki. It's actually made of fish, not tofu.

  • I LOVE RAMEN!!!!!!

  • How can "I" subscribe to the Ramen magazine? I do not understand your overzealous criticism of it in your comedy routine. I would eat the actual magazine.

  • lol they played namie amuro in a ramen bar :D

i love them too, i would even wait half a day for the best tasting thing ever ^^

  • " that was ggahhhhhh!!!"

    haha

  • Guess Cooney likes ramen.

  • Ooops I better stop the grammar police here, I realize that I made a typo. Ty!

  • I like the tyoe I buy at Asian markets... I buy it by the case.. Its hot... Its SPICY... Its.... Nong Shim Shin Bowl.... Good stuff!

  • I'm going to Tokyo real soon and I'll hopefully get to try that place you ate at. Mmm...can't wait to eat ramen there!

  • Rah-Ramen ! xD

  • god you are so hot

  • I'm jealous of you ='[

  • lmao love da vid XD

  • I'd personally disagree about Ramen being the dish that defines Japan. While most people assume wrongly that it is sushi, there is a good arguement for Gyudon being the national dish.

The largest fast food chains in Japan are all Gyudon restaurants -Yoshinoya, Matsuya, Sukiya etc... they are everywhere.

    Good post on Ramen though!

  • i want to try ramen now, i wonder if there is any good ramen in toronto hm.. maybe japan town

  • Yeah, tekhda is right. As Japan is composed of many small islands, most of its food comes from the ocean, where all the nutrients are. You could eat a seaweed salad instead of a vitamin. Sashimi is full of Amino fatty Acids that stabilize your mood, help your memory, and just benefit your brain in so many different ways it would make your head spin. Good video Cooney, Favved and Subbed ! ^_^

  • Manga-ka consume up to 3 times more ramen than salarymen!

  • Is that amuro namie hide & seek in the background? lol

  • Hey, awesome video. The whole ramen thing inspired me (more like it made me hungry), so I did open two packs of noodles, because I didn't have normal spaghetti (I know that ramen noodles are very different, but I'm a gaijin who lives in the U.S, so..). I threw the chicken sauce that was inside, and put some Magi beef broth and cut one big mushroom.. threw all of it in the boiling noodles and.. what do you know.. it was so delicious. ;)

  • This thing gets better and better. The new intro is GOLD. One week and im there!!

  • notice the majority of common foods in Japan aren't really unhealthy for you..not like america anyway..

  • RAMEN!!!

  • hey i have a question which you may not be able to answer but it is if the japanese use peanut products? cause im allergic to peanut and in spring break im going over there and i don't want to die over there or visit a hospital so i just wanted to know if at least ramen doesn't have peanut shit.... anyone?... thank you! ^^

  • Most of the cases, peanuts are not used in any Japanese dishes. There might be some in toppings or dressing for some salads. Anyway I seggest you to ask when ordering at the restaurans. There are peanut allergic people also in japan. They'll unserstand. If you don't speak Japanese, simly point yourself and say "Watashi wa peanuts alleru-gi (I am allergic to peanut )". Sometimes Ramen chefs are so creative that they put any unusual ingredients to enrich their soup.

  • thank you very much... you may have saved my life...^_^

  • You do such amazing work! Thank you for taking time out to show us all these wonderful things. Please dont stop!!! You keep me going!

    Sincerely, Fan 203 :)

  • THANKS

  • Lol i thought you were gana say Whale XD

  • mmmmm...ramen. I have to drive like half an hour to find a good ramen place...well...not even a ramen place...technically it's a sushi place but I think that's just cause they wouldn't get as much business as a ramen shop.

I hope REAL ramen gets popular enough to have as many shops as sushi...I would be oh so happy...

  • i luv ramen

  • omg ラメン love!!!

  • lol pork inhilation. I didn't know u breathe pork :p.. love this stuff keep it coming !

  • What exactly IS your job? O_o

  • I want to know as well.

  • me to LOL

  • Where can i "buy' ramen online?

  • Instead, why don't you go to a World Market?

    They have actual ramen there.

  • in italy we don't have world markets...

    v.v

    xxx

  • I used to love to eat at Mister Ramen every day after classes right outside of Takahadofudo Station! We had to order in person-no tickets. Sweet memories, thank you!

  • actually, alcohol is not a big deal

  • Ill have what he had :3

  • How do Japanese people understand your jokes?

  • English speaking clubs I'd think.

  • and remember he also speaks japanese

  • the song hide and seek was in the back ground at around 5.18 lol

  • wow dude you have been all around the world sucks man i hate planes for a reason but fly around 40 times well keep vids coming planning to go to japan next year peace bro.....

  • man you have been all over the world!lycky guy

  • great video! ^_^ planing to head to japan for real ramen.. bored of the restaurants here in sweden hehe

  • I'm Japanese. The way you eat ramen is very nice. It makes me want to eat it.

  • Ramen is the food of kings

  • Lmao Clam Chowder weekly.

  • Is there any ramen made without meat? Or is the base for basicly all ramen made with beef/pork. Also do you know if you asked would the ramen place make it without the pork base or would that just be to much to ask.

  • Its hard to find, but yes there are vegetarian ramen shops. But the stock is usually made from animals so its very rare.

  • lol..Ramen
