@TheTaze2000 In Chapter 3, you have to speak with Maechen in Guadosalam, then when Yuna falls into the abyss/field of flowers, you have to press X until you hear Tidus' whistle 4 times. Then, at the end of the game, when Yuna's walking through the flowers again, you have to press X to hear his whistle.

By the time you meet the former mage, she's expecting her child. During this ending, you can see that she finally has it. The baby's name is Vidina (which is Al Bhed for "future").

@MarBelieves If you played FFX you should know that Tidus was only an illusion (a dream). After ending the Sin Cycle, all fayth can rest and so does Tidus vanish, because he was a dream of the Mount Gagadzet Fayth. Because Yuna saved Spira (again) the Fayth brings Tidus back and makes him real.

No, because Tidus was a dream of the fayth (from the "dreamland" Zanarkand) and the fayths of the summoning were destroyed, he faded from the world. However, because shyin's "emoness", they persisted. After everything else, bahamut (that little boy) somehow managed to send him back to Spira.

@regal300 Generally, this is considered to be the "true" ending, since the other two endings are usually when you either don't have enough of the game complete, or purposely make it so the two don't reunite. And yes, the scene with Tidus underwater is the same from the FFX ending.

@FunStuff141 Yes. FFX-2 is mainly mission based, so if you do enough side-quests, and finish the storyline, with enough percentage complete, you can decide the ending. There's the Sad, Normal, and Good endings. There's also an extra ending if you get 100% complete, which you would see after getting the Good ending.

@musicsandgames In FFX, you had the option of changing Tidus' name. And with the new voice-overs, FFX being the first to ever use it, if the player choose to name Tidus something else, it would be odd for the characters to call him Tidus anyways, so he is always referred to as "Him", "He" or "You-Know-Who" for FFX and FFX-2. So that's why, after FFX, the option to change the main character's names were no longer avalible, so in Dissidia, and Kingdom Hearts, characters could refer to him by name.

FFX-2 ended sadly but beautifully. It's the most impressive ending ever of FF games IMO. Is there any other FF that has sad parting of 2 main characters at the end like this? As I recall, Rinoa and Squall got back together and kissed on the balcony of Balamb Garden. FF9 had the wedding of 2 mains characters at the end. How about FF7? Though everyone likes FF7 the most, I haven't played it yet =P

I'm kind of torn. I like X-2's ending, yet I also like the beautiful tragedy in FFX. I wish so hard Auron hadn't lost his life for Spira, but...that's also the beauty of his story: he's like Frodo, only cooler with a sword. "The Shire was saved...but not for me." There's something so moving about Auron as a ghost staying on to fulfill his promises, then disappearing.

Also, I think he'd find the new Spira boring and silly. It's not a place for heroes; it's a place for game shows and politics. :(

Auron was a real, living man who died. The dead can linger on as unsent, but they can't return once they're sent.

Tidus was something different: a dream, a simulation, made real by the fayth using pyreflies, the same way they create aeons. Except aeons are like dreams of the fayth's own soul, wheras Tidus was a dream based on their memories of someone else. They recreated dream-Tidus the way you can summon an aeon again and again. Apparently you can do that with dreams, not living souls.
