  • When I hear this piece of the FF8 OST, I always remember Selphie, standing in the destroyed Trabia Garden, making a smiling face and helping her old friends. Many of her old friends and students died and she's trying very hard to help everyone and share her friendlyness.

I cried a lot in the whole game and this was one of the parts ..

  • man final fantasy tactics to final fantasy 10 are the all best final fantasy story, but FF8 is the best all time. I like the love story, betrayal, forgiveness and all the sweet things they have done to help their friends through their adventures and gosh when i played it there is alot to do and kept me busy for 3 months. card collecting, weapon crafting, treasures and lots more!. now the developers of ff are all bad they focused on graphics and not the game play and the story. I miss classic ff

  • @user0408200 Like ff 13 its so bad. too short too bland and too predictable.

  • Brings back memories... :')

  • I agree with FangirlsOfDoom. Nothing matches the emotional effects of the songs in FF8, FF7 comes second.

  • forget about ff13 and enjoy what ff used to be

  • =,)... Nobuo Uematsu you fucking genius...

Each Final Fantasy Soundtrack is simply a masterwork...

  • aaah, trabia garden!

i just don't understand how selphie can be so cheerful and happy even after a lot of her friends died there...

even when she is sad she tries to smile. what a strong girl. man, in times like that i just want to hug her x(

  • :) MEMORIES :) I SHALL NEVER FORGET!

  • Back in the days when I was playing FFVIII for the first time (somewhere around 2002) I went to Trabia Garden and just let my group stand still, so I could listen to this soundtrack. Speaking for myself, I think that Trabia Garden is one of the most emotionally touching places in FFVIII and this melody fits just perfect.

  • My heart :(((

  • Man, Final Fantasy 8 is more than just a game. I'll work for Square one day.

  • @ninJAZgi11 Don't do it 'cause Square has changed through the years, sadly

  • @MirageMC I know what you mean, I even noticed in my interview with them. But then again, you must be the change you'd like to see right? Who knows, maybe i can play a part in resurrecting it. :)

  • @ninJAZgi11 I hope so... : )

  • I hear the song after maybe 8 years again. I was 12 and now I realise that this game is the most beatiful I ever played. These memories are just great. Am I allowed to cry? :')

  • I feel like if these early games were to be novels they'd be best sellers. Not simply because we've experienced the game but because of the story line and the characters and such.

  • I remember playing this part for the first time, even on the world map, I knew this was going to be interesting, I came around the corner and just saw a garden with half it's ring missing and a massive crater in the side of it. In entering and hearing this piece and seeing the sorrow, it really brought a tear to my eye back in the day. I remember the level of detail and the tombstones and crosses, the unexploded missile and the computer. For it's time, there was little that could match it.

  • Where do i belong? Who am i? What place is it that i'm supposed to call my home...? How do i find my heart? This song just gives you all the answers without ever saying a word :-)

  • This song............really brings back memories, really warms my heart

  • Final Fantasys aren't "just a game".

    It's a freakin' life.

  • @Smurfy281 It's a Myth

  • Man i loved this part, despite everything that happened at Trabia, everybody still had a real optimism, i loved Selphie in this bit, she was like a rock. And the fact that then next piece of music was "Tell Me" (my fave) only makes it better!

  • The one thing I love about this is how it combines two emotions that you can clearly feel. You see the devastation on Trabia Garden and can't help but to feel for their immense loss on both the school and life. It's almost a feeling of unfairness in that they are forced to suffer for no reason.

The other emotion is one of hope. You can feel the tone tying in with the sadness and yet seemingly nurturing a fire that refuses to die down. And that's exactly what the survivors were also feeling.

  • What the person below me said.

  • May I cry ? (in the good way :') )

  • @JohnMoonlightboy Only if they are manly tears.

  • wow .. just wow

  • this song just makes me wanna stay in a balcony of a building and think about the happy moments that happened in my life while the wind is blowing on my face XD

  • trabia garden...bball courts...flashback time

  • It always bums me out when people talk negatively about Squall. If I were orphaned and the only thing close to a living relative I have just disappeared one day, I'd be moody all the time, too. And it isn't like he doesn't grow up and get over all that over the course of the game. The characters in this game were well developed and relatable. Second best of the series, says I.

  • i think anybody who doesnt like this should just go and i play this whenever i am going home from somewhere

  • Sounds like an animé

  • "Sis!"

  • @Fighterz76 nice to hear people agree with my thoughts :) !!

  • this tune calms me down to the maximum. love this game.

its more than a game, its a thing that made my dreams.

  • @SpeziaMimi A true visual experience. Good days... ;-(

  • @MrPhantomile yea to bad those days are over now, i still play this game once in while, but my game is starting to break =( i hope they will do a remake but they don't have to change anything not even graphics it was perfect as it is now. after so long i still love this game

  • one person doesnt belong :P

  • Beautiful theme

  • i thought trabia garden can fly too?

  • @darkmiltonius999 yes trabia garden can fly...is something the matter?

  • @gamegina ah, just wonderin. why didn't it fly in the game though?

  • @darkmiltonius999 remember back in Galbadia prison when they were re-routing the rockets? The rockets directed to Trabia were already launched before they were able to get a hand on the control room, they were only able to mess the rockets pointing to Balamb. Trabia didn't get the news quick enough that rockets were pointed at them so they were too late when they tried to put their "garden" in motion (flight).

  • @gamegina ok thanks

  • @gamegina i know...it was sad

  • My son is an infant and he falls asleep to this song because it is that soothing.

  • When I first entered Trabia, I cried

  • Comment removed

  • Dont forget FF8!

    I love it.

  • One person does not belong.

  • Maaaaan, now I REALLY need to replay this game.

  • @BlackLeadAlchemist Feeling the same way.

  • woahhhhhhhaaa it is ff 8 XD Jehhhhaaa my heart crying XD

  • Theme for my Childhood :)

  • 1 person played a card game in Trabia. I don't think i need to draw out the conclusion. -_-

  • @DanTheMan8819

    I don't get it.

  • @MarrickFait Remember their rules? Random + Plus.

  • @DanTheMan8819 Man that was the worst. Anyone remember if the fisherman by the docks in Balamb trick worked here?

  • Final Fantasy 8...wow. Memories here.

I have to say, musically speaking, I find 8 had the most emotional, moving, dynamic soundtrack of any Final Fantasy game. That's not to say the others didn't have amazing music, but for FF8 the music truly was the high point of the game in that every song was simply amazing. I can't think of a single Final Fantasy 8 song that didn't fit perfectly with the narrative.

  • @FangirlsOfDoom

    I agree.

  • @FangirlsOfDoom I suggest picking up Final Fantasy VI if you think that's the case.

  • @FangirlsOfDoom True facts.

  • I played this A LOT when I was younger, I remember confusing my big sister by saying "Sis, im alone, but i'll be ok, I'll be ok without you Sis" ah memories

  • this was melody was taken from ff7 well some of it

  • @mil3mindz But really who cares.

  • @mastamidget if u nah care dont reply

  • @mastamidget if u nah care dont reply midgit

  • @mil3mindz Every Final Fantasy takes a piece off of eachother. You don't need to point it out some more.

  • I love this song!!! It bring back old n good memories...

  • I love this song n this game soo much!!!

  • One Person Didnt Find Where They Belonged

  • I just came to listen to the music but it's remind me of what happened to Japan again

    It's.. so. . hurt

  • I just realized that FFVIII was good with its piano-played tracks.

  • I remember how amazing this scene was, and how much the Trabia Students and Selphie's spirit made me really buzz, they were all so upbeat and optimistic, it really gave me incredible emotion. :)

  • @coolspicysenpia & Otherworld

Thank you, but its been a long time now! :3 With all that happend, if anything I've learned not to let light shine on me but let it shine from me. >X3 Still, I feel a warmness coming from my heart, Thank you!

  • @SoraX911 Hey , SoraX911 you're not living in Japan right?

    I just felt worried

  • The remaining of the warm Trabia garden ... ..The graves that lie your friends whom was once share the burden and happiness together with you .. The teachers whom once scolded you for being late but alway forgive you even comfort and cheer you up when you're down. .. they are ... gone. . . .

  • FF8 = Everlasting Romantic tale

FFT= Way too awesome plot & storyline including epic ost

FF7series= An Unforgettable excited adventure , touching story

    each have their owe essence

  • @ortherworld FFT?

  • @Cafu192 [Final Fantasy Tactics]

  • i've been listening to this since i was kid, and i find it still beautiful after graduating college. truly, this is eternal beauty. so sad...

  • I wish final fantasy was still like this, after 10 they just faded, SQ, please dont let final fantasy die, and if you are going to make a last one, make it a classic....

  • Trabia's Garden destroyed..

  • Ho yeah baby... ho yeah

  • i think irvine's a pretty cool guy. eh knows about orphanages and doesn't care about anything

  • FF8 is litterally one of my more cherished memoeries when i was a kid...and its something that i keep in mind everyday that FF games are truely beyond art...

  • 良いBGMです。

  • Some parts of this song are from AMI and Eyes on me

  • @alterdet I don't believe there is a segment of eyes on me in this song, and Ami and Where I Belong are both variations of the Balamb Garden theme

  • This one too. In the midst of a very critical time in my childhood; no friends, no help and watching my father dying in front of me and my Mother working her Ass off to keep us afloat, this song kept me happy because of how it played its Violins signifying "We still have each other!! >X3" .This song this song reflected us perfectly. Even tho I knew we weren't in the best condition, we were together like the survivors of Trabia Garden, pulling through!!! I glad I kept my head up...

  • @SoraX911 sad past..where's a Selphie to cheer u up in these times?..but u're tryin' ur best so keep it up!!!....:)

  • @SoraX911 May gentle light shine upon you and keep the darkness away

  • this song just reminds me of how much I want final fantasy 8 to be real life, It's my dream, I as squall and my beautiful girlfriend as Rinoa. That is my Fantasy

  • this and FF9's "Unrequited Love" had the same tone if you listen closely

  • This breaks my heart...Sad memories :(

    <3

  • @RikyRoxas try not to think them as sad..unless they really were ^^...but still !

  • Where in the game does this tune show up??

  • @SleazySanjuro Ruined basketball court, Traiba Garden (Selpihe's one).

  • Goose flesh

  • I cant conpare ff7 and ff8.. ff7 is cooler but i think ff8 has more emotions kind of.. ff9 is kind of mixture of them

  • FF8 was the best of all FF8 games

it was the best FF story

  • I can't put into words how much I love all the variations on this theme in the entire game. It's just so...bittersweet.

  • Imagine what this scene would look like in FF13's graphics? I'd be shattered moreso than Selphie if blurry pixels could make me tear up.

  • @BurntPoultry Sadly though, the stories behind the later FFs don't seem to be as touching. Some parts of FF8 really do grab your heartstring, trample on it, and twist it into knots. Some people have theorised to me that RPGs have been sacrificing the humanity of the storyline for the graphics: the more beautiful a 3D model, the shallower its soul seems to have become.

  • Nostalgia Bomb

Best music that could've been put in trabia Garden, not too sad, not too happy, just like selphie at the time IMO

  • Selphie was *shattered*... she just tried to be cheerful. That's what made me teary-eyed. FF8 builds in so much emotion into the characters and you can't help feeling part of them.

  • @RenzokukenLionheart hahaha nostalgia bomb....totaly is...ahh a mix of emotions..its cool how this game is getting more popular as we get a little older and are either wanting it back or showing others

  • damn, i'm a dude and this melancholic masterpiece just made me cry a little bit. T_T

  • whats wrong about it?

  • Not alone. I hate to admit some teary eyedness too.

  • i cried manly tears ;_;

  • a very sweet theme

  • This song is just so sweet ^^

  • Best FF game IMO.

  • Tottally agree

  • Yeahh !

No other FF, was THAT good !! =D

  • Can't decide. FFVII had snowboarding cycling, each had great dialogue, each main character I related with when it came to issues. Eh..

  • ^^ =) I like u .. hehe

  • Can't beat some Electric De Chocobo boarding down the great glacier!!

  • No you can't.

  • lol I just did some of that a few hours ago ^^
