  • @Agslions my dad was vince Henderson

  • Is odessa still crazy about permian football like this today?

  • @brianbmf they are to a certain degree but there team isn't as great as it once was so fans obviously aren't as happy and you can hear it at there games

  • i love he movie

  • ya, the movie wasnt completely factual, however, the book by hg bissinger was. i was a big midland lee fan. i was only 9 but i was at this game. i remember talking to ferris strambler's mom in the stands. i cried when permian stopped us.

  • @dustinsky79 - I was in the stands, too, but on the other side. Strambler couldn't be stopped... you could "slow him down", but never stop him.

  • SE Lloyd Hill is the older brother of current Dallas Cowboys WR Roy Williams.

  • is that the wishbone lee ran

  • Not every play, but they did line up in it and run it sometimes.

  • @samhornet51 looks more like the I-bone that Colorado ran in the late 80s and early 90s

  • just a correction: when Permian scores TD to take lead back 17-13, it was a TD pass from Case to Alan Wyles, not Lyles.

  • oh alright cool

well isn't there a original film

    on the coin toss

    in 88'

  • Yes, there was. It was at a truck stop. It wasn't as dramatic as the movie made it, but they did confuse one of the coins.

  • and wat number was boobie

and does he have any videos

    of him playing

  • Miles got hurt in a preseason scrimmage. There may be film of him from 1987 (which I should have some soon), but none from 1988 which was supposed to be his breakout year.

  • yea they keep calling the running back #45 chris comer. when in the actual movie boobie was number 45. wats up with that

  • i thought coler was number 32?? and boobie miles was 45??? maybe he took boobies number after he left??

  • Nope. Comer was 45. You shouldn't believe everything Hollywood throws at you. :)

  • Quite simply the best high school football game I ever personally witnessed. The last drive by Midland Lee had my blood pressure up 2-300 points.

  • There seems to be confusion as to the year of this game and Friday Night Lights. FNL is about the 1988 team that lost to Carter is the state semis. This video is the 1989 team that won the state title. Boobie had graduated the year before (1988) and of course didn't play most of the season anyway. Comer took over and made all-district. hard to believe the '88 team had only one major D-I signee as this team looks loaded! maybe the JR class was better?

  • Um, I have the 1988 Permian vs Midland Lee highlights on youtube. Boobie actually graduated in May of 1989 (so of course he didn't play in the fall of 89).

  • But this game was mentioned in the epilogue of Friday Night Lights.

  • @dabodyguard or the junior class of the other teams sucked
