  • Back when TMNT games were actually good.

  • @MattiasXL indeed

  • tHEY NEED TO REMAKE THIS gAME i LOVE THIS!

  • To bad Bebop and Rocksteady didn't kick the Turtle's a*# the way they do in this game. Would've made their characters a little more interesting in the show.

  • This game was awesome, but was nothing on 'the Simpsons' arcade game!

  • duh who put the lights out? :'D

  • Wow this is better than cod. With that much cpu in one screen and it doesnt lag!

  • Man, my parents bought me the NES version of this game for me for Christmas, not up to the quality of the arcade game, but still soooo good.

  • COWA-CO-CO-CO-COWA-CO-CO-C-C-C...

  • @Mrster COWABUNGA!

I think you missed one of them. :3

  • Is that a bong on the table to April's left? lol

  • Man I loved this arcade game when I was a kid. What memories.

  • alot better sound than the one on tmnt 2 battlenexus, I have both the battlenexus version on gamecube and the one for dos, I don't get it why the battlenexus one they change the music and delete the voice audio exept for Cowabunga! The cowabunga sounds different though

  • ievery time i go to kennywood park out here in PA, i always go to this game, that's how fun it is. but every time i go to it, the machine's game sticks have problems or i don't have enough quarters to finish out...i lost at the part where splinter gets taken

  • Remember playing this at Celebration Station for my birthday "Sighhhhhh"

  • Thumbs up if you played the intro 99587398457 times and got goose bumps everytime!

  • @lemonyfresh26 NOPE. I don't do what you do.

  • Respond to this video... AWESOME graphics for 1989

  • Omg memories playing this at Hills Department store!!!!

  • Awesome game, one of the best ever. Jason, Travis, Daniel and I would play this all the time. I was Donatello, Jason was Leonardo, Travis was Michaelangelo, and Daniel was Raphael. Good times, simpler times.

  • im not sure which button to press the jerking off button for april or the attack button for foot soldiers and bosses.lol

  • Good Lord! I remember the sound of this game in the arcade in 89! It made the walls shake!

  • @jatigre1 I remember the lines and groups gathered around it when it first dropped in the arcade. Not hardly any arcades anymore.

  • Fun fact: Japan never really got the turtles

  • It's like the US version of the Sailor Moon arcade game.

  • "Duh, who put the lights out?"

  • who put the lights out?

  • I remember, this was our way of making friends lol

  • @p6mkq They were cool but raph was my favorite bar none

  • I miss when things would flash red to show they were about to die. Good times.

  • OMFG EPIC!!!! COWABUNGA:d

  • Who was the last boss? i dont remember anyone like that in all the comics, cartoon, or toys... or ANYTHING?

  • this is great! but i gotta say music on the famicom/ nes version sounds much better.

  • I enjoy playing this on my 360, especially with more people and online. The experience itself is off the chain!! 2-3 button mashing was all we needed back in the 90's. All hail classic arcades!!

  • Boy, Mikey and Donny could use some more training, huh? =)

  • This game is more action packed than the origanal cartoon.

  • is it battle nexus 2?is the x360 version the arcdade or battle nexus game?

  • Yes, that is one of the ways to play this game on one of the current gen consoles. You can buy the game on the XBox360 DLC also, really cheap and worth it.

  • @Nz0x what is the dlc because i want diss game for my brother

  • I believe you can get this game on XBLA for about 10 bucks. Well worth it.

  • @IdentityHero I say it's a good investment. Hell I can't wait till the X-Men arcade comes out this month.

  • @IdentityHero You buy it on X-Box live. Then you download it.

  • @IdentityHero X-Box live has it already, why doesn't PSN get it in their data base as well.

  • BEBOP N ROCKSTEADY... NIKKUH WHUT, played this for hours at the laundromat, always had to kick us out..

  • simply put an arcade legend!!!!!

  • Aha can't even see what's going on but still awesome!

I don't think I ever played this one before

  • Damn it... when is the Playstation network going to get this game?

  • Oh man... this is the absolute shit!

As a kid I was sent every year on this stupid adventure holiday with the school - we only spent about a quarter of the time on activities... the rest of the time was TURTLE TIME!

  • AHHHH SHIT!!!! this game was back in the day at good ol' chuck e cheese!!!! being a youngster in the 90s, eating pizza, and playing this game for days = FUN MEMORIES

  • Shit, when I was a kid, the coin slot for michelangelo was broken, I never got to use the numchucks.

  • OMG MY OLD DAYS AT THE ARCADE WITH MY FRIENDS....when are they gona me a real life time machine

  • OMG! Nz0x! add me bro! You have like 80 percent of the game that i have for mame... LETS DO THIS SHIT SON!!!!

  • takes me back

    warning: nogisatgia alert

    this game was the greatest

    4 players teaming up

playing with random kids in arcades

    pass the tokens

  • damn this was my favorite arcade game back in the day

  • ccccccccccccccccccccccccowabunga.......this game never gets old good old arcade days!!!

  • cccccccccccccccccccccccccowabunga!!!!! hahaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  • I really want to see if four people can beat this game unassisted on one life.

  • I remember going to the arcade and playing this like crazy. Had it on the Nintendo but wasn't as cool as the arcade. How did you get this game? I'm 30 years old, and still would love to have it on Playstation 3 or PC!

  • this was the first arcade game i ever played and the first one i ever beat. awesome memories.

plus, i use to wonder: why the hell shredder kidnapped april? maybe he wanted some that fine yellow booty.

  • @maxacorn we all want april's tight ass

  • @maxacorn or as AVGN would put it: He would like to get some "banana raincoat wearing" ass

  • I like the old TMNT

  • Nostalgia!!!!, great games back then.

  • Jumping kick was your best friend in this game ^^

  • Used to hit the game up at the local gas station.. man.. that was back when i was 3 4 and 5... it was great... GREAT!

  • This was back when pressing the same button 183,457 times was still fun.

  • @Norm1011616 well, actually, "Norm," if you employed the button-mashing technique in this side-scrolling classic, you'd be making a grave mistake. Any noob knows that.

  • @pguest1080 Let me asure you, "pguest", each of those 183,457 button presses were made at precision intervals for maximum effect...

  • @Norm1011616 nah, I don't think so.

Play this game and employ the "button-mashing" technique. You won't make it past the second screen... if you aren't a noob and actually play on hard.

  • @Norm1011616 you still press the same button that many times on any new console. There are just more of the same buttons to press now.

  • Duuuh,

    who put the light out?

  • Man, I love this game!! I remember my friends and I used to go to the local bowling alley, just to play this game. I wish Konami would put all the Ninja Turtle games on one video game disc. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!!

  • @batso8 agreed

  • @batso8 If you own an Xbox 360, there is an updated 3d version of the original arcade game for sale on the arcade marketplace. If not, you can always download them for your pc using mame32 ( or whatever emulator might be better nowadays ).

  • @Lovaelihn Cool!! Thanks!! I dont have a Xbox360 but I 'll definatly look into the other option. Thanks again.

  • @Lovaelihn *jaw drop* If you are trolling i will kill you. I will hunt you down and kill you. *goes to marketplace*

  • Nz0x, I have one thing to say: You and your friends are crazy cool!

  • Really appreciate it :-). Just hope everything is to your liking. Could obviously be better, but eh, its just gameplay for fun i suppose. Thanks again for the nice comment, much respect to you :-D.

  • The foot soldiers appear to move a bit more fluid here, but 3 years later they nail it with Hyperstone Heist for the home console. The NES version was still epic for it's time.

  • i think the best arcade games were made by konami - simpsons, xmen, and this one - there is also a driving shooting one called lucky and wild i remember that was awesome

  • that jumping off the roof scene at the start used to make me smile and get goosebumps as a child, thanks for the trip down memory lane!!! A*

  • Dang u guys r going to war!

  • cacacacacaccacacacacacacacacacacacacacaccacaccacacacacaccaWABUNGA!

  • Thumbs up if you remember waiting in line at Chuckie Cheese to play this and remember kids getting yelled at if they didn't move after getting killed.

  • @markfjones7dajedi I remember playing this game at Chuckee Cheese years ago...Chuckie started bugging me and putting his hands all over the fucking screen so I couldn't see. Fucking asshole rat.

  • late 80's to early 90's golden years of arcade gaming

  • I love the way arcade fighters sound. The music is uber similar to the Genesis sound chip.

  • OMFG!!! 2371 videos!! Were you spending your whole life dedicated to youtube!!!??? Anyway nice vid. I wish I could play this game with you cuz you look like you might actually be a good partner. Never come across them anymore. lol

  • Really appreciate the compliment :-). Actually, alot of the games that are on the channel aren't long games at all, and because of the youtube time limit, the vid count is alittle deceiving.

  • Now this is a game that Irate Gamer likes most out of the whole Ninja Turtles series. I have to agree with him, this game was fun.

  • When Don stands still he holds his Bo like a pimp!

  • 04:10 "Tonight, I dine on turtle soup!"

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody know if this is available to play on playstation 2 or 3?

  • @eyezayaw5 dont think so, it's on Xbox Live Arcade I believe.

  • i remember this game was awesome, i used to play more with donatello and leonardo, sometimes miky or raphael, greetings since mexico

  • @maxter99 Raphael was always my turtle of choice

  • Wiggle Joystick

  • "Hit Buttons!"

  • its not often you would see all four playing, i remember allways fighting over pizza time

  • I love the intro song to this, ace sampling.

  • i love this game i lived though all this...the golden ages of early 2000 good times

  • April O'neal got the titties dawg

  • Can someone explain to me how was it that arcade versions of many games of the time were so much better than their home entertainment system counterparts? It seems like video game technology at the time was positively unstable.

  • @vincent21212 It's only because this was on the computer. If you played this game in the arcade at the time it made you drool. It was a very fun game for it's time. This thing is that game were not set up for the Internet then, so it was really fun just to have random stranger jump in and kick butt with you. Those days are gone for sure.

  • @fatcatbuzz

This arcade game was released in 1989 with graphics that are arguably better than SNES or even Genesis. Why was it not possible to replicate these graphics and gameplay on home entertainment systems of the time?

Nowadays the best looking games are played from home systems (PS3, 360) and graphics can hardly get better. Was it the fact that arcade games required a lot of computing power in the early days to generate such graphics, and hence took up more physical space?

  • @vincent21212 You actually just answered your own question. Nintendo's 8 and 16 bit games were very limiting. When they transfered the game to NES it wasn't nearly as good. I think it was decent but many at the time would consider TMNT 2 a masterpiece. But, it was no where near the arcade in gameplay. Turtles In Time was released for the SNES, but here again it wasn't nearly as good as the arcade. It was only two player and the graphics, though close, were still not superior to the arcade.

  • @vincent21212 When you played this game it didn't flicker like in this video. If there is any flickering in this video I think it's because it is played on a computer here because what I remember about the arcade game, it was pretty stable. But, when you turtle comes back to life, even in the arcade, your turtle will flicker for a few seconds because you are invincible for about 5 seconds.

  • the only character ive played as was leo

  • Hey how do you guys go to that part at 0:32 were you guys add as much lives as you want?

  • I have TMNT installed in my arcade machine right now. :-D

It is too bad I can only play one player right now.

  • That "Cowabunga" sound clip is awesome... anyone know where to get it?

  • I've just put my coin-operated game on Ebay with starting bids at £300, and its breaking my heart to part with it!!

  • @famous305matrix boy-_- this is 1989 arcade game

  • is this on ps2?

  • April-"Help me!"

Shredder-"Tonight, I dine on turtle soup."

  • why do humans explode??

  • @putthefuinfun they're robots...

  • dude theres so much goin on at once in this game

    non stop action!

too bad they donthave this to download on xbox live or psn

  • this is very different from the NES one, there's no girl on a skateboard, and there no thousand pizza hut advertisements

  • LOL Rocksteady is like " WTF man I can't do a single thing with all these guys! "

  • @MyHeadAsplodes Lmao he came out off the bat and sidekicked the shout out of 3 of em, that made me lol.

  • cccccccccowccccccccccccccccccccowwcooowcoccwoccwocwcwocccwowocowwcoccowowwcccccowabungaa!
