  • just incase any one wanted to know the blade is 19 stitches long. life lesson #37 never try to catch a falling knife

  • Do you think a longer knife is better for processing wood? Or is this one all you need?

  • Comment removed

  • Hi Adam, sweet videos! I have a question on the Becker bk2. What is the best way to clean it? After using the baton technique to split iron wood, I have a bunch of small pieces stuck to the blade. What do you think the best way to clean this would be. I want to keep the coating on as it prevents rust. I wouldn't want to just rush in, rather do it the right way. So I am asking you. Thank you.

  • @Equip2Endure love your vids bro, but I have one complaint; your editing, you'll be talking and in mid sentence you'll go to another subject. otherwise keep it up

  • Adam, I just spent a weekend in the allegheny national forest. The bk2 kicked butt! I processed a ton of wet wood and turned it dry. One of my bolts fell out of my handle though. Any suggestion on getting a replacement bolt?

  • ka bar usmc or becker bk2

  • hi! i am from Roumenia! i love you reviews! please tell me if bk-2 is better than gerber survival knife with no serations, as a survival knife! i don't have money to buy a knife and test it to find out what deserves my money!

  • What is the handle made of?

  • Hey guys quick question how often do you oil your Becker bk2 to keep it rust free?

  • @ag9ification After every use, (after a camping trip or a hike).

  • Hey Adam just wanted to thank you for posting these videos I know it's a little late but iam the proud owner of a Becker bk2. And what a knife it is.

  • @ag9ification Thanks for the comment!

  • With mistakes come injuries. Truer words were never spoken. Thanks for a very informative clip!

  • Weird question. What color are your pants? lol

  • @WprEmiere1985 , they are a grey-greenish wool.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure Thanks!

  • I used mine heavily and now honestly I can't seem to get the sharp edge back, think I need a new stone or such.

  • Thanks for the advice

    Amazing videos keep em coming

  • what do u recommend for a good sharpening system?

  • @Shadowedbyevil , Work Sharp!

    - Adam

  • I wouldn't mind getting this for Christmas.

  • is bk7 better than it ?

  • @BrianTamYuFung thats a broad question. they are made of the same steel, if you enjoy the extra 2"s of blade then get it, the BK7 is more of a fighting bowie then a survival built knife. but it will still serve u well if u get the BK7

  • If your lucky enough to have some aluminium foil in survival why waste it under your fire ? I'd use it for cooking ? And if you wanna go crazy on a 2 by 4 with that, might as well carry an axe ? Nice videos BTW just useful critizism/questions mate ! Keep it up !

  • @Bigschwang foil makes a barrier between the wet ground and your tinder/kindling. the 2x4 test shows how well it can chop.

  • Amazon has it for $52.00

  • Hey Adam, great videos. Have you ever talked to Ethan Becker about making a knife around the same length as the BK7 with the thickness of the BK2? I have both knives, but the BK2 is my go to blade for backpacking and canoe trips, it's indestructible!

  • @MrRacetiger no, but I will bring that up next time I see him.

  • what state or country do you live in

    and your videos are awesome

  • @MrAirbourne5 Thanks for the comment...sorry for the delay. Trying to dig out of all my emails and getting back to some old comments! I live in Pennsylvania.

  • im thinking of gettin the triflex mora knife and a bk2 knife. both are cheap and are really good.

  • @michaelpelletier10 , I love my Gen 1 BK2, the Gen 2 have a little bit more forward weight so if you're a fan of that it would help with chopping. Lock tight works wonders and is all you need to fix the problem.

    - Adam

  • Hey dude

Is this knife good for slicing and cuting ( food ) or only chop the trees? Because I'm considering to get one thanks.

  • @bmihai406, the lmf 2 is a great knife and the serations don't chip like the bear grylls ultimate knife and it comes with a great sheath. The bk2 also a great knife but does not come with a great sheath. Both are great knives but if you want a knife that gets the job done and is cheaper go with the bk2.

  • @metsfan12110 lol, I would take 1 becker bk2 to 10 of those gerber lmf's all day everday. Gerber is slacking . The Bk2 is probably the best all around solid long term knife that will last out in the market. This thing is a BEAST

And a FAIR price. Not overpriced for the damn name like most of these knife companies nowadays. Ethan BEcker did it RIGHT the 1st time. The rest of the production manufactuers should take notes ;)

  • Dude did you buy the hedgehog sheath? how much

    ?

  • i dont know what to buy:

This(bk2) or lmf 2 infantry knife?

i will use the knife for chopping, batoning, cut some branches and to build a shelter and survival things, you know!

btw great review and Good job!

  • have you had any problems with the bk-2 rusting when exposed in wet conditions for extended periods?

  • bk2 or bk7?

  • hm, becker bk2 or esee 5? They have similar specs, but the becker has a lower price tag, and esee has the best warranty ever. Your opinion would be great!

  • @shibdiby , I don't know. I know the RSK MK 2, does not have that problem.

    - Adam

  • Bk7 is way better ..

  • Great review man. I'm thinking about picking up a BK2 generation 2 and i was wondering if yours has the same cut outs on the tang? Do you think the strength is comprimised with the cut outs in the tang for say prying or batoning?

  • I really have to get one, I keep putting it offl.

  • Esee 5 make this look like shit. Period.

  • @snakeeyes3211 For more than double the price I really doubt its twice as good. Put micarta handles on a bk2 and you can't tell the difference between it and a esee5.

  • @elryanoo 1st, you have to look around for a better price. 2nd, lol, you put micarta on the bk2, your aqt the SAME price as the ESEE, minus the LIFETIME warranty, MINUS the excellent heat-treatment,Minus an extra 1 1/2 on the blade, Minus a bowdrill pivot, and Minus a WHOLE lot sturdier or a blade. So um, yeah their not the same. ;)

  • @snakeeyes3211 While I agree with what you've said about the pricing, warranty and heat treating, they are still not the same knife. Becker handles are much more comfortable than ESEE's handles, and the Becker pommel is much more useful than a glass breaker. The Becker is highly customizable, and has a huge selection of aftermarket accessories. 1095 Cro-Van will not rust as easily either.

  • @BRIKbushcraft Again, Micarta is Micarta. It feels the same on any knife. And I will say Cro-van baked into the metal, adds durability, but thats why ESEE Powdercoated there's. Lets agree to disagree.( I own both, You do not. IMHO, the Bk2 is a jack of all trades, master of NONE. the ESEE, has length, and to me, has the beter advantage.) As far as customization, all you can do to the bk2, is already done to the ESEE. So not really an arguement there.

  • @snakeeyes3211 Well I would agree to disagree as you said Lol, but to me the BK2 handle fills my hand better. You are correct that I do not own both, but I have experience with both. It just seems that Becker has a much more rounded, versatile (Grip-wise) handle. And as far as there not being an argument on customization, you strengthened my statement :) Since there are less accessories on the Becker (Nice sheath, Micarta, Possibly Duracoat or High polish finish), it leaves a fun project for you

  • lol 1:07

  • BK2 or BK 7?

  • BK-2 OR SK-5?

  • kershaw zt0100 , best knife ever

  • I am looking for a heavy duty but compact survival/camping tool. in all of the tests you did a Fiskars x5 camp axe would have been more suitable. Why do you use a big knife instead?

NB- ass uming you have a folder or mora knife in pocket/around neck.

  • @pnfcrac , love my my wetterlings wild life axe and my large hunter.

    Adam

  • @Equip2Endure Good stuff mate. I have recently purchased a Fiskars x5 camp axe. It is a little wonder. The steel is 55HRC so you may find it a bit soft. I would suggest you get one for a review maybe. NB- a proper Fiskars, not a Gerber made in the Far East. Happy trails.

  • Thanks Adam, I had my eye on this one :)

  • heheh 2:33 i whas think he gonna smoke brown

  • Very nice test !

  • becker bk2 or the cold steel srk, for camping and day hikes. i have a hatchet but im not fond of carrying it due to how uncomfortable it is to carry and its weight

  • how thick is the knifes blade ?? is it more than 5 centimetres??

  • Hey Adam, what is your opinion on the becker bk3 tac tool?

  • becker bk2 or the ka bar usmc? plz respond.

  • @jayz308 , I like the BK-2, it's a tank of a knife.

    - Adam

  • @jayz308 I asked adam several months back, I was thinking about going with the kabar at first but went with the bk2 and honestly I have done pretty much everything adam has with it but the 2x4 and I have not been let done. If you can find one reasonable I would go with the bk2. The Kabar is awesome for what it was designed for as a fighting type knife, I have one as well, but for survival/outdoors type knife I like the Bk2

    -Troy

  • @jayz308 I can vouch for the Bk2

    -Troy

  • @jayz308

    bk2 !

  • Only bk2 !!!

  • which is better ; the bk2 or the esee 5 ?

  • @1320kingz , They are almost the same knife, ESEE has micarta scales for about as much as it would cost you to buy after market ones for the Becker, so price is not that big of a deal. The ESEE most likely has higher tolerances when machined, but the cro-van and the martempering on the Becker is most likely better. I like the handle shape on the Becker better but my friend likes the ESEE better, he has smaller hands.

    -Adam

  • @Equip2Endure hey Im trying to shop around for a good survival knife, and I cant decide between the cold steel srk, the sog seal pup or the camillus pilot survial knife. Which in your opinion is better and why? also what do you think about the gerber profile?

  • @Equip2Endure hey Adam, alot of people had trouble with the handle scales loosening up during heavy use. I was just wondering if you knew if kabar fixed that issue in the 2nd gen bk2s with the extended tang.

  • How is the pommel for hammering?

I'm getting this knife for my camping/BoB, love the feedback i've heard and I don't really need a 7in, but the Bk-7 is moderately priced too :D

  • BK2 or TBT?

  • Do you recommend this knife for military use.

  • @Antonio865 In my opinion (And I'm not Adam) the best Knife design for general Military use is a Ka-Bar style fighting knife. The BK 2 is too thick to be a really effective fighter. Alot of guys like Fighters in cpms 30v as it's stainless, holds a good edge for a long time and is relativley easy to sharpen with diamond stones... Check out Chris Reeve Knives They're expensive but well worth the cost. Just stay away from the s 90v (too hard to sharpen for a fighter imo)

  • i love my bk2

  • I like the knife gerat reveiw you took the knife down to its nuts and bolts !!!!!!!

  • have you ever carried this knife without scales (just the skeleton) if so do you know if this affects its fitting in the sheath?

    Thanks

  • I'm on the fence between getting the Gerber LMF II or the Becker BK-2. I have watched both of your reviews on the knives and they both appear to be great products. Which knife do you find yourself using more and which would you recommend for a private pilot to carry while flying over desolate terrain? Thanks and keep the awesome vids coming!

  • @rjc003 , Becker BK-2, no contest! The LMF 2 is a good knife, but hands down the BK-2 is the one! Take care,

    - Adam

  • Suit up!

  • what's the reason for drilling a hole in the wild?

is it for builing or something?

  • @Petriealright , pilot hole for a bow drill kit.

  • would you reccommend this in addition to the sog seal pup elite or over it. because its only 1 inch longer blade than the seal pup but is much heavier. does it make much of a difference? oh and did you know that you can take the handle apart and there is a designed little spot where you can stuff some tiny survival stuff inside the handle.

  • @borgese1NA I think the Bk2 is better the Seal pup is awesome but not as Survival based knife as this one

  • would you reccommend this in addition to the sog seal pup elite or over it. because its only 1 inch longer blade than the seal pup but is much heavier. does it make much of a difference?

  • I'm gonna get me one of these, strip the paint off it for a good shine, put the optional micarta handles on it, and get a leather sheath made. It will be a sexy brute.

  • bought one the bk2, guess i got a lemon bc i chopped a 1x2 of pine i had around and the blade chipped in multiple spots....i was way let down. im guessing the heat treat was not done right.....

  • @jlott00 What?! Send that mofo back! Let me know!

    Adam

  • @Equip2Endure should i go to the store i got it from or call kabar?

  • @jlott00 I. Would call them first.

  • Would u recommend this

Or the bk 7 or 9

  • @boblyism you dont need a horribly large knife this is fine for any task you could have belive me

keep your powder dry and your knife sharp~josh

  • @mrsvinarich26 When you feel a knife needs sharpening, try push cutting through paper to see if part of the blade still holds a good edge (and identify the part you don't use that much). Should vary with hand size, but a blade around 4 inches is fine for most tasks.

BK2 is a great tool, and a sexy item (alas, lost to girls, but pull it out in an all guy setting and feel the awe). As some guy said on YouTube: "I wanna go out and fight a bear with it". It's feels that well made in your hands.

  • Would u recommend this over the bk 7 on 9

  • Hey Adam, Came across your videos while researching survival knives. Based largely on you reviews, as well as other YouTube reviews, I got a Ka-Bar BK2 (2nd gen). I have not put it through any of my own tests, but I'm sure it will do fine considering how your tests went. With all that said, I came across information on the web stating that these types of blades (carbon steel) need a certain measure of care compared to stainless, however, no clear instuction was given. Maybe you can elaborate?

  • @TheBillman70 , Carbon Steel blades will rust! Got to keep them oiled. We have become so use to all the stainless blades out there we have become lazy in reference to care for our gear. Rust can very quickly damage your knife, especially your edge. So the extra durability comes with a price.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure I'm kind of new to this...Obviously I just dab a little oil on a rag and wipe it down. Right? Is there a special product, or do I just use a dab of motor oil?

  • @TheBillman70 Just my .02, but i use vaseline. Stays longer and non toxic for food prep

  • @TheBillman70 keep it dry rem oil or motor oil will work wonders

keep your powder dry and your knife sharp~josh

  • very well presented. All your videos are top notch sir. The BK-2 and the Rat Cutlery (ESEE) RC-5 are a must have requirement in my bugout/survival kit. Can't beat em.

  • @SpartanCombativesGrp. , thanks.

    Adam

  • @Equip2Endure would you recommend this knife for a primary survival knife??

  • @krazy4knives , As a "Survival Knife" yes it great for that, it's a sharpened Pry-Bar, as Bush Crafting knife no, to big and heavy for every task, but does work great in the kitchen, as well as battoning wood.

    - Adam

  • Hi adam. I want to get one of these knifes but I cannot find anyone selling these in the uk or who will ship to uk

  • @2jackjay2 , try Paul at Hedgehog Leatherworks.

    - Adam

  • @2jackjay2

no i still cannot find a way of getting this knife in the UK,

I have found the cold steel SRK, do you think this knife will handle logs and stuff as well.....cheers

  • can you feather a stick with the bk2?

  • @thaiguysabu , Sure! It really has no business carving as well as it does.

    - Adam

  • @thaiguysabu if its sharp enough...... .weres ur common sense

  • ive been beating on this thing all morning long XD..... seriously though good vid....takes this out for an overnighter and really beat it down sorry can't resist

  • @w1ld3rn3ssm4n1 , lol!

  • @w1ld3rn3ssm4n1 hows is it holding up pal

  • would you reccomend this over the Ontaeio Gen. 2 SP-46...thanks.

  • @RatifiedCow , different functions, the BK2 is a lot heaver build. I don't think you can go wrong with it.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure Thanks for the advice!!! Love the BK2!!!!!

  • I'm getting this knife, a DAJO survivor knife and if I can find a review on TOPS steel eagle 107C I'll get that one too. Both for camping and hiking.

  • @KALfilms the dajo is made in china, be careful

  • Just ordered this for some light day-hiking (possibly overnight), thanks for all the uploads. Have you heard anything else about the Micarta scales, are longer screws needed for most people who order them, or do you think you may have just received a defunct pair?

Also, thinking about the Ka-Bar Kukri Machete, you think that's overkill for my purposes?

  • @eits1986 , from what I understand they have corrected the short screw issue. I have heard other having the same issues that I had so I don't believe it was a single incident. As for the Machete, it's not over kill if you need it. Just don't over back for your trip. Take care,

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure

Okay, I figured as much, better safe than sorry. Will be going into bear country, will feel much better with a bigger blade, although I think if one decides to show up I am running on luck at that point :(.

Thanks for the response, will be watching your uploads regularly! I'll let you know if I get mauled.

  • @eits1986 if you stab sumthing with a bk2........that going to be a big wound hahahaha

  • Great video, now my only concern is the handle looks kind of slick, how good is it in the hands when wet?

    Thanks

  • I haven't seen a video of you using a pair but for some one like you I bet you would love vibram fivefingers there by far the best shoes for backpackers or just any outdoors man.

  • This would be great for people in Texas.

  • i just got the knife it is a fricken beast it feels super good and its a fucking axe haha

  • how do u think your knives would hold up to cold steel trail master.

  • @superdznuts99 , I think the Becker BK-2 is a tank and would hold up to most knives out there 3 times it's price.

    - Adam

  • Great video. Do you find the knife to be a good chopper? If not, that's a lot of weight to add to a bug out bag for a knife.

  • @envirosponsible great chopper.

  • Great review and demonstration. I want one!

  • hey adam if your looking for a badd ass cheap knife to beat the hell out of try a ka-bar large heavy bowie i've had one for 2 years and hammered it through some tough shit and it keeps comming back for more, but the sheath sucks.

  • @secretsquirrell13 Ka-bar large heavy bowie does indeed rock!

  • @czech1013 and it will do that!

    - Adam

  • Just ordered mine today, cant wait to baton the sh!t out of it : D

  • Just ordered mine today, cant wait to baton the sh!t out of it : D

  • I think I'll look into that knife myself. My current survival knife is a 17 usd Fury. I put it to the test last year and it held up to my abuse.

Adam how about a video on the upside down/ self feeding fire. It is very efficient and is the only type is use wheather large or small. I think your the guy for it man... clear and articulate! Keep 'em coming! Thanks

  • Going out to shoot some videos today, maybe able to fit a fire video in, been wanting to do an example of different set-ups for a while now. Thanks for the suggestion.

    - Adam

  • thanks for the super review Adam. Although I really like this knife, I can't justify replacing yet another knife everytime something new comes out. lol. Maybe I'll get lucky and break the one I have. 5 starz dude.

  • Hey, that's a great point. If it's a good knife and works well for you, you may not ever have the need to get the next "great" knife. I guess i'm some what of a collector and the fact is I also enjoy doing these kinds of task with different blades. But it always comes down to personal opinion. I would never dream of telling people they had to go out and get this product for their live to be complete. Thanks for your comment, take care, and hope to hear from you soon,

    - Adam

  • Oh I hear ya Adam. I have inadvertantly become a collector myself. Funny thing though...I feel a certain amount of guilt each time I replace a blade with a newer and stronger model. Is THAT weird what!!! lol I have carried the Schrade schf3 for awhile now. Been through alot together. I'm even adept at throwing it accurately. I'd feel less guilt replacing the girlfriend. lol.

  • lol!

  • got mine today :) love it :D:D

  • how does this knife compare to the gerber L.M.F. knife? just wondering, im looking at both, right now i have a ka-bar heavy bowie and its a beast and a half.

  • Both are great knives. I have a knife test video with the LMF II and the Becker BK-2 together if you get a chance to check it out. The LMF II's sheath rocks that's it big advantage. Take care,

    - Adam

  • Great test, better when the knife is outdoors being used than being described on a desk for 2 minutes. You have my sub.

And this has finlly convinced me to get this knife.

  • Thanks! If you get one let me know how you like it. Take care and hope to hear from you soon,

    - Adam

  • ordered mine today :D i cant wait to test it out ;)

  • It's a tank! Let me know how you like it!

    - Adam

  • Buying one very soon, great vid exactly what I wanted to see this knife doing! One question since you recorded this have you reprofiled the edge and how has it held up

  • I have not reprofiled it yet, I still test the knife out tooling around the back yard before I take it on a long trip. Once I get back I will know all the modifications I want to complete. I'll let you know, thanks and take care.

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure yeah man i was looking at this site sunrise river custom knives might get new handles i would keep the black color though and a new sheath

  • @jaredbotha2 fuck u go jump off a bridge of sumthin

  • Alright-- I finally got my knife but not through my original source. I've been playing around with it. Its heavy. At one point I had it attched on my work rig and asked my super if i was allowed. I got the look. (joking of course) I decided to use it to make dinner tonight. Much better as a blunt force blade. It cut the veggies, but more like a butcher job. Needs to come sharper from the factory. Other than that, I cant wait to get out into the woods to play with it. All my buddies love it.

  • "Agh, come on Sarge!, but it looks all tactical!" Lol. Glad you are happy with it now, wait until you get out in the woods with it, or the desert... take care, and stay safe,

    - Adam

  • Hey, I thought it looked damn good next to the taser. It was opposite of my weapon so its all good. In my opinion there is nothing scarier than a big dude with a gun, taser, more stuff and a huge freaking blade. You would asume hes either nuts or knows how to use it. I might even give up all the gear for a battle axe. My partner asked how would i prevent it from flopping around. 550 cord baby. LOL Be safe out there!!!

  • Awesome Knife!!!!!!

  • hi im thinking of getting the bk2 . do u recommend this as an all round survival/camp knife ??

  • For the price and it's capability I think it a great medium size survival blade. I think the only thing it needs is a better sheath and some Micarta scales for the grips. Take care,

    - Adam

  • @Equip2Endure thanks for the quick reply and video

  • @jaredbotha dude chill out. We dont want your negative comments here.

  • Great videos man. Ive become addicted to watching them lol. RC6 video wouldbe great too if you have time.

    Thanks for making these

  • Really good review. 5 stars and sub.

  • Thanks!

    - Adam

  • great review
