You learn a Blues scale and a Variant of it, and you learned a Slash solo, With John 5 you need to learn different styles, different scales and different approaches to playing. He combines a country style with his creepy industrial sound, and adjusts it to how he feels needed... all of slashes solo's sound the same...

Great job! The only thing I would say is work on your timing. Maybe it's just the youtube video/audio sync, but you seem to be ahead of the beat often. I think a lot of people that just focus on the technical aspects of playing solos forget the most important thing, keeping the rhythm. I know guitarists that are skillful in playing technically challenging solos, but they get tunnel vision and lose sight of the importance of rhythm. Playing with a human drummer would help you with this immensely.

Keep praticing and you will get it. Also I have found out that typing actually ruins how you play. Your fingers get use to typing a certin way when you should, if you can, type with your fingers strait out instead of them being curved. Thats one reason why you can't hit the few notes right is because there not streching far enough. Give it a try and see what works best for you.
