This beach is known as "Break neck beach" because of it's dangerous shore break. The way that the waves break along the shore here is very strange. Because of the steep beach incline, the waves seem to curve, stop, and then break maintaining the same position.

I do not know understand why people will go to Big Beach because it is dangerous. It is a very beautiful beach, just don't body surf. Rather swim past where the waves break and enjoy the beautiful water!
