  • you got ripped for that hard drive

  • @johnb1193 this was back in 2007...

  • @SMFPresident

    oh that was ok then

  • Windows doesnt get viruses just by going online either, unless your one of those newbs that uses Interweb Exploder. It gives Windows a bad name.

  • mac sucks fosho...

  • why do I get the feeling this vid is biased (Imac in the bg)

  • last comment.

  • " i got a BIIGG one! this 500 gb! One of these will cost well over 200$"

I got a Terrabyte hard drive for £64 and it's about half the physical size :L

  • @RavenRecordsInc

This can still be cheaper I bougt a harddrive for about 30 euro's for 750.... It's working for 1.5 year now

  • osx is easier to hack than windows PC's. BUT, for hackers, a serious user (aka someone who;s got a great connections and works all day on the computer or a small server) is worth far far far more when it comes to botnet sale values than - say - some girl that uses a mac to play on facebook for half an hour a day.

  • Mac OS X was hacked in 2006 less than 30 minutes, and within 2 minutes in a contest in 2008, and within 10 seconds in 2009. In 2008, Linux and Vista were not hacked until another day when restrictions were lowered. Vista was next, and then Linux. In 2009 Windows 7 fell shortly after the Mac but Linux was unscathed.

  • Pretty good video!!! I just bought a new Macbook Pro (Snow Leopard) and there's a Time Machine in there but dunno how to use it. Now guess I have to buy an external drive so I can back up all my files.. So that's what Time Machine are for--for backing. Thanks for educating us!!

  • actually macs get viruses. they just dont affect them. and also if macs send a email to a pc user the pc user that gets the mail will crash XD

  • Here, if you have a mac, don't watch porn on your mac. Don't download random shit on it, or give away your admin password. Problem solved. No virus' for the mac. No hacker would want to hack a mac. Because: 1. They are extremely hard to hack. 2. they are not worth it compared to the pc. 3. This hacking takes a very long process for the mac, and it is easily detected by the user. No hacker would want to get in jail just for a simple mac hack. If i was a hacker, i would go for the PCs becoz its EZ

  • Funny, the way Ive heard it most hackers say OSX is much easier to hack than a well secured Windows installation.

  • they can get viruses.. people are just retarded, download something that has a virus with a mac and it will get a virus just do a virus scan and you will see.. retards

  • Umm..

"The fact is, Macs don't get viruses by just going online (like Windows machines)."

This is technically untrue. They can, it is just much less likely because they aren't worth targeting. If Mac OS did get more popular than Windows, there would be a significant rise in the amount of known vulnerabilities in Mac OS.

My computer doesn't permit anything to download without my explicit permission. Via using a firewall, antivirus, antispyware and using Firefox.

  • Comment removed

  • however, if you go onto a site, it can automatically download it for you with out any questions

i think its from the cookies :P cuz its happened to me, but thank you AVG free :)

  • why do people always think there mac is so safe.....its vulnerable just like any other computer out there

  • There not though. Leopard is a very modern new operating system and security is very tight. Windows is built on an old design and basically always has proplems.

  • This sound just like window's backup and system restore all in the same program

  • @rsplayer2006 Time machine is better than windows backup and system restore because it backups your software unlike windows.

  • @Timothy656 .................I'm sorry but you can back up everything and anything on a windows machine - you just have to set it up. By default it only backs up core windows files - because otherwise you'd annoy serious users by wasting all the HD space.... fortunately you don't get the problem of serious users on Macs :/

  • @neverfearchrisishere That is a lame excuse! Many users now a days backup using an external hard drive. The prices of external hard drives are getting bigger and cheaper everyday. Backing up does take a lot of HD space but with the ever expanding external hard drives, it wont matter much longer. Plus there are some serious photographers/users that use Macs on a daily basis - just to contradict what you have said. Tell me when you comeback with a better argument!

  • @Timothy656 ......I would NOT consider a photographer to be a serious computer user. They use cameras seriously. Photo editing is a trivial task for any modern computer.

    .

Backing up everything and rolling back can be done on windows. It takes about 5 minutes to set it up - it just come switched off by default.

    .

External drives are nightmarishly bad for backing up lots of data - the data transfer rates are dire compared to any internal hardware.

    .

so yes I came back with 3 better arguments.

  • @neverfearchrisishere You did come back with 3 arguments all of which are rubbish. A photographer can be classified as a serious computer user. Wedding photographers can spend days editing photos to get them exactly the way they want. Which in my mind is a power user. Backing up everything on windows can not be done out of the box like Mac you need third party software or to drag and drop your files manually. External hard drives are good cheap alternatives and firewire is fast! Trust me!

  • yer, I'm a PC users, and I've got this great program to back up my files- Recycle Bin!

  • macs are gay saido wer0f293r0j9f0ne440 1fd901fn i04 19f04 f9 41r j0914p r14nf1i04 9ff934 fffk 13f/ 1/3f, /.31f /.f /1.f, /1,f/1,f /,/f.2,r/32,f/r,1r2/ , okay sorry.fel1fe .1/f /.f 1/f

  • and guess what mike i back my pc up daily and save it to a new hard drive each time and then i unplug that ext. hard drive

  • that sounds like a lot of money

  • if there arent any viruses for macs then why did intego create an antivirus program for the macs? makes me wonder how so many people are gay and dont know about these things

  • so do your research before you spew stupidy

  • The winner of the PWN 2 OWN was well-known iPhone hacker Charlie Miller. He seemed to have no trouble steering the Safari browser to a website that contained a coded exploit, which allowed him to take over the MacBook Air in just 2 minutes. That's right, just 2 minutes. For his efforts, Miller takes home US$10,000 for his ethical hacking.

  • Get a better mic, boombox.

  • Mac does have viruses, just not many. And the reason for that is because hackers like to target the mass audience. As Mac marketshare grows, so will the number of viruses.

    P.S.: Windows forever FTW.

  • Time machine is a good idea, for the most part. Whats dumb is that you need to buy a seperate extrnal drive to be able to use it, more money wasted! Second, something can happen to the external drive, anything. I like windows so much more. Vista is fast and looks and works terrific. I love windows!

  • Having time machine backup to an internal hard drive would be extremely pointless. The Point of Time Machine, is that you have a spare copy of everything, incase worst comes to worst. What happens if your internal HD dies? Well, you lose all of your data, AND your time machine backup.

  • i use both mac and windows based PC...ive had more problems with my mac then i ever had with my pc...just dont be stupid on your computer and youll be fine.

  • I totally agree vlkers. My Windows Xp computer has never gotten a virus in the 4 years i've had it...and now on my new vista laptop ive only had one problem but it was mechanical and dell took care of it right away. How f*cked up a computer can get, be it mac or windows, all depends on the user. (and i say windows and not pc because anyone with half a brain knows that pc stands for personal computer, not windows)

  • That would be great until the virus infected the backup.

  • LMAO!

  • I made the switch from windows to Mac about 3 years ago and it was the best thing i have even done. I dont use any antivirus software or even a firewall and my G5 runs like a ferrari...... GET A MAC, YOU WONT GO BACK

  • Lol, Porn Sites..

  • cool.. I love my Mac
