Listen dude, Americans play baseball like it's a religion, do you see us complaining? And if you are refering to the NHL than the majority of players on the American teams are Canadian or Europian. Have you taken a look at the value of the Canadian dollar lately?
Aww I loved Mr Dressup!! I was very sad when Ernie Coombs passed away. Lovely video. Canada is amazing. I couldn't be prouder to have been born and raised in such a wonderful country.
you guys can have your 100000 good things about canada, but you guys have a shitty military, and atleast the united states isn't full of gay panzies like youuuu
@yaoisyucky Was that really necessary? It's people like you that make people from the United States seem ignorant and full of themselves. I really do feel sorry for you.
@PaigerBunny feel free to babble on about what canada has invented, but that's all trash. You guys think your the best! you guys play hockey like religion, and you invented it, and still can't beat an american team. You guys invneted baseball, and all your baseball teams suck. In fact, they had to move a team out of canada because it was so bad. Call me ignorant, but canada does nothing. The only thing canada is good for is hot women, and the 18 year drinking age. O CANADAAA!
I really wonder y Americans hate canadians not all but alot first i was like WTF then i realized that they r hating canada for no big reason America we love u but ur being mean to us so 1 day we might get into a war wich i dont want to happen PLZ AMERICA STOP HATING US WE'R A VERY FREINDLY COUNTRY so STOP IT BEFORE A WAR HAPPENS!!!!

I'd prefer Guy Lafleur!
and Kin Campbell never been elected a PM, is was a give away title for the replacement of Brian Muleroney, I woul put Lucille Teasdale for what she did!
@cathcandy Halifax was the only major British port in Canada. The loyalists all ended up in New Brunswick after the traitors' revolution. Nova Scotia has one of the largest apple exportation rates in the world. And to top it all off, P.E.I. potatoes are some of the best in the world!
we also invented the blackberry, the television, the television camera, the game show, the candy bar, the telephone was invented in Canada, baseball, hockey, basketball, canadarm, five pin bowling, walky-talky, snow blower, snowmobile, paint roller, the zipper, the washing machine, imax movie system, newsprint, sonar, roller skate, Colbat-60 bomb, electric wheelchair, colour film, lawn sprinkler, instant replay, and the football goalpost. You can thank Canadians, for all this.
@juralkable In my opinion, this is why Canadians are perceived to have a low national confidence. We don't need to list our accomplishments to rub it in the face of others. We know we are a great country, we don't have to prove it. We have had an integral part in almost all technological discoveries for the past 200 years. That list doesn't even come close to doing this country justice.
@juralkable Candy bar = New Brunswick. Ganong chocolat factory still exists down by Saint Stephen. Oh and if you're ever down that way stop in Saint Andrews and go to the Gables restaurant. Very nice place for a romantic date or a family meal.
I still don´t understand why it came to be that Canada and the USA are different, separate countries (think about it), I mean, they were founded by basically the same European settlers, right? However, at some point, an line was drawn and some said "we are Canadians" and the others "we are Americans". Whatever the reason, I thank God for Canada! (I´m Mexican).
@Tebanovich There was a war. We were fairly separate for quite a while before that however. There were colonies that wanted to be separate from Britain and some that wanted to be loyal to Britain. That's the division.
@monicavm At last! Ok, so there IS a reasonable explanation to the division...thank you!! All my research did not produce this theory (or maybe I just suck at researching!). Best of luck.
@Tebanovich Basically, the European settlers in North America were under British rule. A lot of these settlers became increasingly resistant to the high taxes demanded by the British Crown. Eventually growing into a revolution. They formed the United States within the Americas, and fought the British armies. Once it was all said and done, the people who wanted to stay faithful to their homeland, were in Canada, and those who opposed the crown were in the U.S.A.
The two-sides were sworn enemies (especially since the U.S.A. had become allied with the French and Spanish, Britain's worst enemies). But as time passed, enemies became allies through similar political agendas and mutual international struggles.
Thus, leaving us with two countries, much alike, but much different, with a massive unguarded border.
10 things I love about Canada: 1) Montreal 2) universal health care 3) diversity 4) CBC 5) Air Canada (I know many people will disagree - but I love Air Canada!) 6) margaret atwood (nationally) / michael crummy (nationally / Newfoundland) 7) Montreal International Festival of Jazz 8) Celine Dion / Anne Murrary / Shania Twain / Bryan Adams / Sam Roberts (all of the awesome talent erupting from Canada!) 9) the word "Canada" 10) vastness
ten things i love about CANADA our tolerance the freedom of speech universal health care the lakes, rivers, montains, the 3 ocents, forest and all that natural heritage that shapes anf forms our country homosexual rights the bilingualism Louis-José Houde,Toby Hargrave and Rick Mercer ( Our Comedians) Kraft Dinner Quebec City ( Where I Live ) the national anthem
hmm sounds like your canadian. I wish that you did not have to show id and passport when you go from US to Canada. I used to love spending weekends up there, now it just takes to long
thank you for coming to the aid of your mother country during the wars while usa stood back as normal.we owe you a gratitude we can never fully repay. thank you.
@lagolake1 what an understatment that is, obviously you're not familiar with the 50 things about Canada (there are more of course) that this lady mentions!
Awesome!! Those were all great things and you listening to your mellow and soothing voice was nice too. My name is Joe and I am Canadian! 5 stars for you.
I don't know why Americans can't just get along with us that's all we want. We only become disrespectful to you out of self defense. I'd love to have mutual respect for one another but they make it impossible.
Canada has a history of innovation. This like all history is of value. The difference with this history is that it does not have an end. If innovation stops how will Canada pay for Canada's choices?
Intellectual genocide is a cancer to an innovative society like Canada this must not happen.
it's about time whites like this mature lady sites her race for its accoomplishments in the creation and maintainance of the great country of canada. far too often we hear only from the ''guilt-ridden'' whites who have been so thoroughly brainwashed by the left they don't recognize their accomplishments. hats off to you.
Do you think that because your neighbors are friendly that your television set and newspapers are truthful?
That is what I mean.
Grow a backbone, lady.
There's NEVER been a war in recorded history that can be justified. When WE start rebelling against those that tell us to go to war only then can we show an ounce of pride.
i'm sure all news all over the globe has exaggerated or falsified information at one time or another it is a business.. but at least canada's government has a somewhat decent reputation when it comes to having integrity there has never been such a case in Canada's government or the RCMP/CSIS as the Lawrence King trials and conpiracy or the level of corruption in the bush/nixon administrations or the CIA/FBI
You're a clown. People like you are responsible for borders and the recognition of differences amongst us rather than our similarities. Read some more government textbooks and watch more television you stupid fuck up.
Please don't think everyone from the east is as dumb as this idiot. We love the west. I love all the western provinces. My only beef in canada is with our PM not demanding a NHL franchise for Winnipeg and Another for SW Ontario. Enjoy your weekend!
NATIONAL HEALTH CARE and the fact that Canada takes care of its people and keeps itself out of other peoples affairs unlike the USA where i unfortunately dwell. I need to cross the border
Always welcome buddy. But I love America as well as canada. Hope both our economies rebound and we can get everyone workin again. To a great weekend in three days and summer beer and BBQ's!
People,People, we are all Canadians, lets get along. Im from Northern Ont. Ive been to all parts of Sask and for the most part, I love People from Sask. They have some assholes also just like everywhere else. Ive been to Saskatoon, Regina, Wayburn,Kindersly, Unity, Biggar, Radville, Redvers, Carlisle. Ive met a lot of Americans and most are great down to earth folks. How can you say a whole region of people are this or that? That would be ignorant.
I love Canada! Hi from México....i really miss the Tim Horton's coffee, the snow, the landscapes, the hockey, and all the amazing people over there...the loonies and toonies too....to talk in english et parler français...:(
I wasn't born in Canada but iv loved it since I got here.. Wish people would drop the stereotypes even though some of us do say eh a lot lol. Anyways go Canada.
I went to Vancouver in BC in 2006. I loved the place. I jogged around Stanely Park every morning. Went to the Steam Clock to hear "Oh Canada". I just thought that was so cool. And in the long evenings from Elizabeth Beach, you could see the lights on the snowfields. Where else in the world can people paddle in the water in mild weather, and look up at people skiing on the mountains? It was wonderful. Blessings +^+^+ The Saint
why do you hate canada you have no reason to hate canada dumbass it's like if I said i hate usa for no special reason only dumb bitches think that way
I assume you didn't mean melting pot, which implies that all ethnic groups coming into Canada conform into one solitary group. What I hope/assume you meant was Canada's mosaic of different cultures, and beliefs. :)
I met Stompin Tom. Actually I waited on him at a restaurant. And I met Rick Mercer and had my picture taken with him. Both are very nice. Stompin Tom chain smokes and drinks warm beer and Rick Mercer is very short. And I dated Banting's grandson. And I have some loonies and twoonies in my wallet. lol I am SO Canadian.
I stumbled upon your list unintentionally, and I'd like to say that I thought it was great! (I'm glad Robertson Davies was on it. He'd be on mine, too (=. )And you have a wonderful, calm voice.
And something else, blind nationalism makes people to be horses with lids, who believe that their country is superior in everything. I hate flag waving and superiority complexes! I also love some things about Canada- the flag, Niagara Falls, the maple syrup, the Cdn anthem, but this is not enough to provide me with the quality of life I want, which only the good old Europe provides! Sorry but Cdn cities with 1 million pop'n have less cultural events than a small Euro town with 50,000 residents!
D you like the seal hunt, too? The 10 hours waiting in hospitals and the pathetic schools, which more like day care centres than schools? I can go on and on! I had over 50 reasons to leave Canada for good and I am so happy I did it! But it is very doubtful that you will leave my comment because you censor the Canadian way.
Well, I had previous comments deleted so I do know what I am talking about. Cdn universities are very good but don't even get me started on primary/secondary schools! What you study in Math-8th grade, we have studied it in 5th grade in Europe! Teachers are also forced to teach 4-5 subjects and not just one, which also brings down the quality of Cdn teaching. I care about essentials for quality living: healthcare, education, social life and not how many musicians or hockey players are Canadian.
Im Canadian as well. Nova Scotia born and raised, and I swear I'll never leave here, lol. I listened to this whole video and I read all the comments. It made me think about some things. There are way more than 50 things I love about this country. And probably only about 50 things I cant stand. I actually made my own list, but it's personal. I just want to say thanks for this video. It meant a lot to me. Im so proud to be a Canadian.

Sorry not 2006, I mean 1986! Ooops! Where did my life go? I was there for the World's Fair. Vancouver came to life. I bet it has changed now. +^+^+

I was last there in 1985, just missed you! Haha! Oh yeah, it's changed incredibly by now, for sure.

I feel bad for the countries who don't have Tim Hortons, plus timbits are always are always so good.

Yeah, I removed the really nasty ones. But there weren't that many and that's kind of nice. :)

I assume you didn't mean melting pot, which implies that all ethnic groups coming into Canada conform into one solitary group. What I hope/assume you meant was Canada's mosaic of different cultures, and beliefs. :)
xxMusicianxx 3 years ago
OMG I just went back and I did say that! I have no idea why. Yes, yes, mosaic is what I meant. Sheesh, how could I?! Eek.

Okay, I understand Alaska just because it's formerly ours and looks like it should be ours, but Seattle? I thought it always rains there?
monicavm 3 years ago
When was Alaska part of Canada? In 1867, the same year as Confederation, Russia sold Alaska to the USA.

No Blue Rodeo or Shania? :)
binsk 3 years ago
No, I'm not much into either of those. AND I HATE THE TRAGICALLY HIP, thank you.
That is very cool that you met Tom and Rick, and the dating is super cool. I love having hard change like that. It feels like so much more.
monicavm 3 years ago
I LOVE Blue Rodeo, and like a lot of Tragically Hip stuff.
Yes I love when you think you have no money and then you search the bottom of your purse and there is 20 bucks in change! :)

Oh I forgot I was born in Winnipeg where the Guess Who are from. I can't stop with my Canadian pride!

I stumbled upon your list unintentionally, and I'd like to say that I thought it was great! (I'm glad Robertson Davies was on it. He'd be on mine, too (=. )And you have a wonderful, calm voice.
notnuatsyobdelliki 3 years ago
I have a friend who's a conservator and I love The Alienist, too! And Robertson Davies just makes me adore the way Canadians write literature.

Canadeseticinese 3 years ago
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Do you like everything about Switzerland? That doesn't mean you don't like most of it or a lot of it, right?
I have had only the best of experiences in Canadian hospitals and am sorry you did not. I have received a wonderful education and so have my children.
How could you think a Canadian would remove your comment just because it was of a contrasting opinion? For shame.
monicavm 3 years ago
Well, I had previous comments deleted so I do know what I am talking about. Cdn universities are very good but don't even get me started on primary/secondary schools! What you study in Math-8th grade, we have studied it in 5th grade in Europe! Teachers are also forced to teach 4-5 subjects and not just one, which also brings down the quality of Cdn teaching. I care about essentials for quality living: healthcare, education, social life and not how many musicians or hockey players are Canadian.

ya u must have definitly lived in canada if u believe we seal hunt?

Im Canadian as well. Nova Scotia born and raised, and I swear I'll never leave here, lol. I listened to this whole video and I read all the comments. It made me think about some things. There are way more than 50 things I love about this country. And probably only about 50 things I cant stand. I actually made my own list, but it's personal. I just want to say thanks for this video. It meant a lot to me. Im so proud to be a Canadian.
