  • what a pos he will rot in hell for leaving that ship.

  • DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!!!

  • i couldn't find the helicopter ,so i took a lifeboat

  • Captain saved a bunch of lives. the hard truth is "So what?" If he had been doing his job as a captain he wouldn't've had to save "a bunch of lives." The amount of people he saved vs. the amount of people he ditched when he decided "Hey I have to save myself and get off" doesn't even come close. Its not "Nobody looks at the good he did" its "He failed at being a captain" which includes choosing a safe route, helping EVERYBODY off and making sure the people he was transporting came before himself

  • I agree with those who say that the captain is a coward. But i disagree with those who say that all italians are coward. Not generalize! I'm Italian and if i were schettino i wouldn' t have jumped ship

  • The dick with the top rated comment who insults the captain of the titanic for doing his duty by going down with his ship is just ignorant, the Spanish captain had a responsibility to see the evacuation of passengers and crew before he got off

But no, he fled to one of the first life boats so to the prick at the top, fuck you, Titanic's captain wasnt dumm he was a brave, noble man who went down with titanic because there were was no way to save those left on board

You sir are an ignorant FUCK

  • Captain Zapp Brannigan

  • the coward should hang himself now!!!

  • I don't think maritime law matters. How cowardice to abandon ship when your the captain. That's the most pathetic, cowardice thing I've heard in a long time. How incompetent do you have to be to stick a boat that size? Was the captain drunk?

  • When you become a captain of any ship you sign your on death, (it means you as a captain have to go down with the ship or be the last person to leave the ship in case of emergency) everybody is a priority(passengers+crew) , not for this guy he was the priority...

  • @flamurtarivlora1077

he doesn't need to kill himself he could have just done something to help people.

  • Schettino is just one of these Berlusconi style italian cowards.

  • min 3:48 up to 3:58 .....no sound necessary

  • Costa Concordia in cinemas 16 July

  • the captain did both good and bad that day. People knee-jerkly and wrongly focus on just one thing or the other. He did save a bunch of lives too. People (for some reason) don't A) want to believe that or B) don't care, even if they believe it. This guy did not "know" that there were reefs or rocks below, so legally can't really prove "recklessness" in that sense. I mean, he was not perfect, no doubt...but not quite as bad as ranters think or say.

  • @RawIronMix As a former professional sailor, I find your comments ridiculous. The captain saved himself! Not even an SOS! Left the vessell before the passengers. Deviated from safe route. Any person can tell that to bring a vessell of that size so close to a rocky shore is reckless. Not even sailing boats run that gauntlet! The captain should be in prison! Absolutely disgusting actions. No concern for anyone! Makes me sick to my stomach that people died because of this scum!

  • @thankfullman this is the problem with people. Selective analysis, knee-jerk stupidity, and no balanced logical anything, just emotional hysterics. OK, now...you said "ridiculous". What specifically was so "ridiculous" about what I said? The fact that I said that he did "BOTH good and bad"? And everything you said I don't even disagree with necessarily. I said HE SCREWED UP, didn't I? But...he ALSO saved a bunch of lives TOOOO. That's just a simple fact TOO. That's all I said.

  • Comment removed

  • @thankfullman (3rd) so are you gonna deny the fact that he ALSO saved lives too? Even if the thing was mainly his stupid fault for steering so close etc. It was said by passengers that this captain ALSO did heroic life-saving. So it seems (from what I have heard etc) that with this moron captain, it was a MIXED BAG. Of both good AND bad, that night. That's ALL I was saying. Plus, the fact that most people tend to ONLY focus or care about the bad. Human nature.

  • @RawIronMix You obviously do not understand maritime law, and again I ask, are you related to him?

  • @thankfullman nice dodge....to everything I said and asked. Dick...

  • @RawIronMix STUPID JERK. I GUESS YOU ARE ALWAYS RIGHT ABOUT STUFF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. GROW UP.

  • @thankfullman cute brat, don't you read everything??? I understand "maritime law", which is why I said what? That the captain did BAD !!!!!! I said that. Even though we DON'T have all the facts yet (though you think we do). But it seems he screwed up. I said that clearly. So what you're saying (if he actually did all that) is a straw-man. I was just saying that passengers have said that he ALSO saved lives TOO. Which hardly anyone wants to acknowledge or admit.

  • @RawIronMix I'l tell you why people focus on the bad.. He is the -CAPTAIN- of a ship. Not a cab driver. His job is not to simply steer the ship. He is responsible for all of the 3-4000 lives on that ship. That is what you sign up for when you become a captain. And then when it is your fault that the ship is going down, how could you not do everything in your power to save the people on the ship. Not 3 or 4 people. Everyone! How do you not understand that?

  • The captain looks too meek and mild to win in a court.

  • Geeessss Gilligan would of been a better captain!

  • The owners blame the caption, that's not evidence. Maybe that is enough for these emotional fools but not for me.

  • @truthseeker010101

and yes you quite clearly a paragon of rationalism and ultimate truth!! since you repeat it so often! hahahaha

  • look YAHOO you can't censor my comments on YouTube!

I am sure many on yahoo are saying just this, but are not heard. Only emotional foolishness and rash judgements can be heard on yahoo.

  • You people watch to many movies! He put the boat on the rocks to save lives, he managed to get 4500 people off the boat, and dozen died. He didn't go back on the boat because those people where dead, no hope left to save them when there drowned already. I think the emotional people are just that, children, emotional fools. Logic and reasoning skills are not with this human species! And I see nothing but destruction for this retarded species if they can't get away from their emotions!

  • @truthseeker010101

are you serious or just stupid?? the captain made no indication that he did anything other than veer off a course that has been used often and flee like a piece of shit coward. the boat never fully sank so no reason that he has to DIE on the ship, just not be the first one off the boat. he is an idiot and a coward.

  • @riptide1111 and your evidence for this is? not jack shit. Your emotions rule you, like a child you let them.

  • @truthseeker010101

ok fair enough - and your evidence that he wasn't a coward??

the audio transcript implied that he was chicken shit (he did not say "I saved some people"; "I did all that I could" or anything! it was him making excuses and bumbling); appears that this water course has been easily used, so more evidence is needed to show he was incompetent - or maybe a mechanical issue? but for someone named "truthseeker" you probably think this is all a conspiracy. LOL

  • @riptide1111 what you just said where excuses, and he had no excuses. I love it when truly stupid people make points for the wrong side of their argument.

I am not a conspiracy nut, I am however a rational person who need evidence, not hear say to make judgments. This is called logic, and reasoning skills. Something emotional fools like you throw out the window.

  • @truthseeker010101 Stupid comment. He did nothing to save anyone! Are you related to the Captain?

  • i can't see the chaotic part of the evakuation...

  • MrFattyfatfatboy - you sir, are guilty of making light of a crime on the high seas and you will be arrested and brought swiftly to justice under maritime law. I have ordered your capture and dispatched forces to your location. You shall kiss the gunner's daughter for that statement fat boy!

  • This is just shocking that the CAPTAIN left the boat before the passengers were saved. What a piece of garbage. Obviously they let him have his ships license without proper psychological testing.

  • I live in Aviano...who's with meh?!

  • Crack Head at the wheel.

    Danger Will Robinson!!!

  • titanic can never happen again, wtf?

  • A italian captain??? LOL

  • @HAVENIBNOU He comes from naples...not from Italy!

  • You know that when you get too close to the coast, you hit land. Simple.

  • The "company" is just doing damage control management. They most likely know nothing about about sailing. If they did, they'd know that the Captain is the ultimate authority on board and no one can contradict him

Whatever happens on the ship is his responsibility

To me it sounds like he's not really a Captain. His "justification" sounds as such. I wouldn't b surprised if they put him as Captain because "the uniform fits him well" And maybe even to "cut costs" u know? to save a buck. We'll see

  • This cruise company, Carnival is run by a Jew who also owns the NBA Miami Heat. He is listed as one of the 100 richest people. Carnival persuaded the governments of Dade county to give them 250 million dollars to build a stadium. Carnival never paid a cent for rent of stadium. Avoid going on any cruises. They turn out to be extending shopping trips to the islands and nothing else.

  • Captain was hired in 2002 as security official. Does this mean he was some kind of cop/thug? Was he ever trained as a captain?

  • There is a very simple solution as to why this was such a fuck up: It was operated by Italians

  • It are not italians but comes from Napoli...a very great difference Do you know "raccomandazioni"?

  • @Balian49 Chirstopher Columbs WAS ITALIAN, you retard

  • Hell of an insurance job

  • Titanic english captain went down with ship, italian captain not so dumm

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy You're right, there was a time when Italian translatics dominated the sea and captains went down with their ship but now only idiots became captains....Schettino, the only idiot that try to escape from a responsability bigger than him.....

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy dumm lol.. not so brave

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy but he gonna go to jail for a long time and doesnt have a friend in the world.

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy dumm? After he steered the ship into the rocks.. He failed to warn the passengers and crew what happened.. He failed to alert authorities what happened, It was smart for him to escape in a lifeboat while people were struggling for their lives? Then he lies about everything that happened. Hope he doesn't drop the soap in jail

  • @MrFattyfatfatboy good one

  • the captain's brother used to work for exxon

  • What was his blood alcohol level?

  • To the Captain: Whatever happened to going down with the ship?

  • @TheExpatriate700 The ship didn't go all the way down. Half-hearted ship, half-hearted Captain.

  • @TheExpatriate700 thats just in the movies....

  • @jobrien2001 Not true, its more an old tradition to go down with the ship when its sinking. The captain is the leader and should not abandon the crew in time of need, But most days, its uncommon cause their considered to be more valuable to give their lives up.

  • @TheExpatriate700 He could have got off easy, the ship technically dint even go down...

  • Comment removed

  • Other than high ranking personals , most of the crew is underpaid, made to work minimum of 70 hours per week and is given a shithole to sleep at night. You cannot excpect crew members to be well trained in a emergency situation like this, cruise companies tries to save money by not hiring the real emergency crew, instead they push the crew members who is working as dishwashers, cleaning crew,,,,, to perform the duties of emergency personals. I was a crew member and it was a torcher to work.

  • @ABQ2009NM

It sounds as bad as working for the airlines these days. All these companies suck because they expect one person to do three jobs and shit where they sleep.

  • @Di0genesus exactly, we are the 99%

  • @Di0genesus yes you are right, its basically exploitation, it is heart breaking to see these crew members work so hard and get paid so little & at the same time the officers of board have freebies for everything on board, they boss around the crew members and also get a fat pay check. It is basically a paid prison, only here you have to work your ass off, i heard the same about the airline crew, it is just sad how we humans treat each other, things should be changed but who know when.

  • How much do you think a ship like that costs? And then this captain goes and trashes it lol. I'm so glad I'm not him.

  • So what the fuck happen?!

  • The Daily Mail is reporting that it was total chaos and pandemonium once the vessel began to sink. The common custom of saving women and children first, went out of the window. It was every man for himself, according to the Mail. My, have times changed.

  • @seekingjustthefacts according to the mail, exactly, there are videos of it however showing people being calm and orderly, but, well, the mail says otherwise.

  • @seekingjustthefacts IF you trust the mail as a news source, then you've never read an article by them on a subject you know.

  • @neverfearchrisishere: lol . . . No, I do not "trust the Mail." I was merely stating what they reported based on quotes they had taken from some of the causalities. My comment only applies if these quotes are true.

  • AlJazeera is one of the best news sources available.

  • Look at the captain. He looks like a drunk.

  • Let me guess...the Captain was heavily drunk, having a Bunga Bunga orgy/party with Silvio Berlusconi.

  • I feel for the victims families. All my sympathies. BUT There is one line that just got me a little mad. When the reporter said " Now is not the time to blame but to save anyone that is still trapped". Why in Humanity's name did the Japanese or the world NOT think the same way for Fukushima?????????????????? This is a boat... It will not continue killing. As for Fukushima GAME OVER!

  • see kids, this is why you do not ghos-ride a crewsships....

  • my heart will go on

  • @200nikesdeep "goodbye Jack...."

  • their sonar sucks...

  • And as always there's just one single person who is blamed. Why not also blame the cruising company for not giving proper competence training for all the crewmembers, including the captain? They get to enjoy their piles of money while the poor captain is recieving all the hell on himself.

  • @FurryFenNick It was his responsibility.

  • how was ur holidays ?? Aholes

    taste it ..

  • I don't really see how the captain can say the ship is 300 meters from shore. It looks pretty close to the shore to me.
