  • Brownmark is great, as a Bassplayer, and even as a original producer, like he produced ,rainy night of Chico Debarge, and many others, it was the funkiest album of chico rightaway,.. i like his funky Low Bass, and his squeeky voice on it a funk product we needed back then ... Listen alos toe the great Put a smile on your face and ,the Loud and Funky..Bang bang, for a start ...!!!, Funk Rocks still Big time !...

  • Awesome! Forgot home much I liked this track!

  • @2pacthemac wow, hating much? lol dude quit hating. Let everyone enjoy this video.

  • @2pacthemac

Thank you for your honesty and candidness, really. I just bought the used 12" single at Cheapo Records to use for one of my shows, you know, and saw more than just one copy. Sadly this guy only charted with just one song on the R&B chart just missing the 40.

  • I USED 2 ROCK THIS! GREAT POST!

  • talented dude makes it look easy

  • Gotta Luv Brown Mark, he was way 2 funky on tha bass & I loved his own stuff, plus my boy Rudy Martin (Rude Boy) is in the video! Ha Ha!

  • I like the Prince picture on Marks award hanging on the wall...nice touch lol

  • I can't stand the girl at 3:39. i bet she just wanted to be in a video. any way, Amrk rocked this track. i don't think Motown did a good job with promotion. i could be wrong though i'm just 14. but if there was such thing as a time machine, i would definently live in the 80's, music today just doesn't make me wanna dance like this. why does music suck now, makes me ashamed to be called a musician.

  • Well I can see things seem a bit stormy in some of the comments. Nonetheless, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the video :) I just now rewatched it, lol I forgot how much I loved the dancing in this vid. Seems like even after the Mazarati era BM was still hot on the dancing.

  • @girl89kn Thanks for posting! I haven't seen this video since it came out in the late 80s when I was in high school. Nostalgia of the old BET.

  • No prob :)

  • @girl89kn I wanna know where he is at now and how he is doing?? he was NASTY on the bass! Loved it!

  • @hmorganman obviously you are either mad young or never been to a Prince concert. Brown Mark/Mark Brown is nasty on the bass. before you make comments go do some reasearch. I've been to many Prince concerts, Brown Mark is crazy, listen to the song he can also sing real good. Right now we are in a synthetic era of music. Nobody is a musican, they have pro tools, fruity loops, synthesizers and samples. Go do your history before you make blanket statements about shit you have no idea about!!!

  • Yes, this takes me back a minute also. This was the time when the industry made a fortune by spinning any and everybody off the coat tails of Prince. This was also the day of the creation of the synthetic...people who were not real performers or musicians. They were just actors who had the right look for the video. I wonder if this guy was even really a bass player?

  • are you kidding??????? lololololol. he's only one of Prince's baddest bassist ever. your last question just slays me. lololol

  • @eny611 i agreed with everything until synthesizers and samples. didnt prince and all the other artists from back in the day use those? time moves forward not backwards so of course we're gonna use the advance of technology to our advantage

  • I friggin' love this song! Oliver Leiber's guitar solo is fierce LOL. Love, love love this song.

Got the 12" somewhere aswell which is also fun, but not as good as the album version.

  • OMG this takes me back to high school. I love this song. Don't worry about Prince's people thinkin' you posted it for profit. I don't think he has any claims to this song. I also love the song he produced for Chico Debarge "Watching You" Prince used to treat Mark bad but I think he was just intimidated by him because he is so good on bass.

    Thanx 4 postin' Smooches!!!!

  • how did Prince trest him bad? Would you even know who he was if Prince never hired him for the Revolution? Prince is the best thing that ever happened to him

  • By that logic Warner Brothers is the best thing that happened to Prince. And we all know their relationship wasn't the most amicable.

  • i freakin love this guy!!!

  • WOW! I remember this song. I have not seen this video or heard this song in over 20 years. Thanks for the post. FIVE STARS!

  • I finally saw this music video for the first time last night. Thanks for making it available on here.

  • Mark is a very good bass play. I remember when just started playing the bass he was going to quit cause he was no good. He wasnt trying hard enough so I ask him to come over to my home and I show him some things on my drum set. I said to him he needs to try harder and keep working at it and you will get better. We had a nice long talk . look what happens when you do that. Hes big time now . lol

  • Its funny this video. Marks mom did this in real life to get him up for school the alarm would ring and his mom would be screaming at him [lol] at the same time to get him up every week day. I rented a room from her for about 8 months. that was funny. I drive by that house on park ave on my way to work sometimes.

  • Just stopped by to once again 5 STARS this video.

  • No problem you guys. Enjoy the video and I'll post other videos that I may not see on here. All Mpls. Sound related of course :)
