russian scientists calculated in 1959 that astronauts needed a shield of 4 feet of lead to protect them on the Moons surface. why caculate this if there's no intention of visiting the moon? just for kicks? again, none of this makes sense.

The exposure was dangerous and risky but nothing life threatening, and NASA and the astronauts knew this. There is no conclusive evidence that NASA faked the moon landings, because they didn't fake them. There is, however, a huge amount of incontrovertible evidence that they did actually land on the moon.

you do know that wiki is not a verified source of data, right? i could log in and change anything there. next, there are scenarios that would explain Apollo's being tracked. the people who say they did the tracking might have been colluding with NASA. An unmanned craft might have actually gone to the moon and orbited for the duration of the alleged missions and then came back. once again, the only true confirmation is the apollo landing sites by an outside source.

The camera was controlled from earth and due to the lag between the earth and the moon it took the engineers six tries to get it right. The famous blast-off video is actually footage from the apollo 17 mission.
Regardless, even in the vacuum of space, the thousands of pounds of pressure being thrust out from the bottom of the pod would have tossed dust upward but without the"floating" effect that earth has. The dust would get aggitated, get blown up and around and come right back down, still leaving a crater and dust particles all over the lander's feet.

But it wasn't agitated or blown up/around - what would make it change direction? The thrust blows it away, and it keeps going until it lands. Nothing will make it swirl around. There is a clear shot showing where the surface dust has been blown away. As for dust particles - what makes you so sure there aren't any on the feet? They are small.

While only NASA has sent human beings to the moon, many countries have sent probes and the Soviet union has sent several landers, including two rovers, 3 sample return probes, several orbiters that returned photographic negatives to Earth (disproving the claim the trip back through the VA belts would have fogged the film) and biological payloads, as well as a 20 day Earth orbital mission that sent two dogs repeatedly through the inner Van Allen belts. The USSR would know if NASA had faked it.

Sure, the footprints do does rather look like wet sand, but wet sand will not produce the quickly settling clouds of dust. seen in the MOVIES. The explanation is simple. The footprints are made in fine particles, like dust, try making a foot[print in cement powder, and the dust quickly settles when disturbed, because it's in a vacuum, on the moon. If you actually CONNECT the evidence, rather then cherry pick, you'll find it SUPPORTS a landing.

@seeknthetruth I'm all for logic when it doesn't construe facts. The astronauts would have needed a 4 ft thick shield of lead to prevent any radiation exposure, but that was not their goal. The exposure was dangerous and risky but nothing life threatening, and NASA and the astronauts knew this. There is no conclusive evidence that NASA faked the moon landings, because they didn't fake them. There is, however, a huge amount of incontrovertible evidence that they did actually land on the moon.

you do know that wiki is not a verified source of data, right? i could log in and change anything there. next, there are scenarios that would explain Apollo's being tracked. the people who say they did the tracking might have been colluding with NASA. An unmanned craft might have actually gone to the moon and orbited for the duration of the alleged missions and then came back. once again, the only true confirmation is the apollo landing sites by an outside source.

There is a large laser reflector that was placed on the moon at the landing site, it gets used everyday.
They went to the moon for sure, i have no doubt about that. All of the various arguments that are used against us going to the moon have been thoroughly debunked. There are physics equations that anyone could do to see how fast things should be moving on the moon that proves they went.

After a few hundred hours of practice, anyone could get pretty good at taking pictures like that. Even though it's obvious that some "landing" videos are 100% fake (obvious giveaways in light reflecting off nylon wires or a "moon wind" gust blowing up the flag), the true believers can always refer to the telemetry received by hundreds of folks in the command centre.

As for the usual argument "it is not any well known scientist that goes out to speak"... well... well-known scientists care for their positions first of all and too often science is being compromised (something seen in many fields of knowledge). The truth is that no well-known scientist went out to explain to us how exactly the whole thing was done - it is only NASA engineers that do that but on critical details they stop, "secret info", they claim. Quite difficult to find the truth that way

Out of the 400,000 only a mere 1000 people would be aware of the whole truth, with perhaps some other 4,000 people being close indirectly to the truth (eg. seeing things being done that did not collate with the whole project). It is not strange that they did not talk. Why would they? I wouldn't risk my job (let alone other things) if I earned on average 200,000 dollars per year.
The rest 395,000 people working on the "bolts and nuts" level would not be in any position to know anything at all.

I think it was believable. The only ones in on it are the astronauts and the intelligence community. Johnson was behind the Kennedy assassination according to hunt.
So there doesn't have to be that many involved. And perhaps only the first few were faked to give us some more time to really get there. Is there a later moon landing that actually looks real?

Everybody is thinking of ways to do it (including Chinese and Indians) but future moon landings projects are not even given theoretical dates... they say "some 10 years ahead but the same was said 10 years ago and probably will be repeated 10 years ahead for several decades until a breakthrough...probably space habitats on the basis of knowledge from ISS

That's true! I remember back in '96 or something, I was in school reading on of those Weekly Readers and it said they were shooting for a return trip within 10 years and a fully-operational moon base by 2017.
And as the years went by, you could see how they just kept putting it off longer and longer.

you'd think we'd have made enough improvements in technology to get back on our moon before 2020. I know the excuse is it's expensive, but how expensive can such out dated technology really be? NASA leads to inventions that innovated everyday life but can't improve lunar landing technology sooner than 10 friggin years? We had how many Apollo missions? The camera was controlled from earth and due to the lag between the earth and the moon it took the engineers six tries to get it right. The famous blast-off video is actually footage from the apollo 17 mission.

Regardless, even in the vacuum of space, the thousands of pounds of pressure being thrust out from the bottom of the pod would have tossed dust upward but without the"floating" effect that earth has. The dust would get aggitated, get blown up and around and come right back down, still leaving a crater and dust particles all over the lander's feet.

havokdrums, you've got that half right. The dust would, and did, get blown away by the thrust, despite that thrust very quickly dissipating in the vacuum. But it wasn't agitated or blown up/around - what would make it change direction? The thrust blows it away, and it keeps going until it lands. Nothing will make it swirl around. There is a clear shot showing where the surface dust has been blown away. As for dust particles - what makes you so sure there aren't any on the feet? They are small.

While only NASA has sent human beings to the moon, many countries have sent probes and the Soviet union has sent several landers, including two rovers, 3 sample return probes, several orbiters that returned photographic negatives to Earth (disproving the claim the trip back through the VA belts would have fogged the film) and biological payloads, as well as a 20 day Earth orbital mission that sent two dogs repeatedly through the inner Van Allen belts. The USSR would know if NASA had faked it.

There were plenty of problems, deaths even, and non-fatal equipment faults on most of the missions. The missions were certainly not perfect.
Also you say it like it was just NASA doing it. There were 400,000 engineers and contractors involved.
We're also still using 60's technology , The space suits we use now are close to the 60s models. The centaur second stage rocket that is currently on it's way to the moon has been in constant use since the early sixties.

everything had been tested. Apollo 10 for instance did everything except actually land.
All the ascent stage engines were one shot only, but other identical engines had been tested hundreds of times.

Wet sand? The reason wet sand doesn't move is because the particles are clumped together and not loose. Thus making it undamaged by wind. No wind no the moon means that the particles are just as pliable as wet sand when trodden in. Think about what you're saying next time, yeah?

It's not flapping, its been WAVED by the astronaut.
Sure, the footprints do does rather look like wet sand, but wet sand will not produce the quickly settling clouds of dust. seen in the MOVIES. The explanation is simple. The footprints are made in fine particles, like dust, try making a foot[print in cement powder, and the dust quickly settles when disturbed, because it's in a vacuum, on the moon. If you actually CONNECT the evidence, rather then cherry pick, you'll find it SUPPORTS a landing.
