isnt it good to live at a time when a song like this exists .brilliant song brilliant band saw you many times.pity the charts didnt recognise you but thats a good thing leave that to girls aloud .
Guy it is reasons like this song that I find it so hard to let go of you. Because when we were together, no matter how bad things were, that line was true,"don't know where I'm going, don't know where it's flowing, but I know it's finding you". It was the only thing I knew. So what do I know now? I'm lost. And the idea that one day you'll see me driving by in a car, would you bow and get in? It is an idea that I can't let go, I can't get past. I'm stuck here.
Hey gotta say Heck yes to that. I am American ( TEXAS ) but I will say that some of the greatest bands and singers have come from THE LAND DOWN UNDER.
A genius of a generation, a credit greater than yet to his Nation, and a gem, never a costume or a way station, in one's evocation of love by way of peregrination. Ave, Masters Forster & McLellan (sic ~ :) ).
Hace no mucho que he descubierto este grupo, y la verdad que suenan muy pero que muy bien. Me atrevería a decir que tienen cierta similitud con "The Smiths", al menos su sonido me recuerda al grupo de Manchester!
@maida1982a agreed, a quintessential Australian band that did not tread the Commercialsim road too much and stayed true to their music, similarly Hunters & Collectors and therefore did not have the successful international careers that they deserved (at least not to dizzying heights)
NewHopeNashFan, I could not agree more. I discovered the Go-Betweens by chance in in 1988 and became an instant fan of them and Grant's solo work. It's criminal that they to this day are virtually unknown here in America. Grant's music has a very profound and deep meaning in my life and that he passed away so young is something that I have a really hard time accepting. The GB's music is what took me to Oz for 3 months. A country I fell in love with. Dunno if I can go back to Brisbane now. :-(
@Nigelxman - check out Robert's last album - The Evangelist, very good (and I've alwyas been more of a fan of Grant's songs and Finding You is one of my all time favourites).
@gavgams - check out Robert's last album - The Evangalist, very good (and I've alwyas been more of a fan of Grant's songs and Finding You is one of my all time favourites).
ich suche das lied jetzt schon seit 2 jahren und habs endlich gefunden. ich höre das lied jetzt schon seit 2 stunden und es ist noch immer nicht genug ;)
The Go-Betweens are worth ten times their weight in platinum set with emeralds and Australian South Sea Pearls. Grant McLennan is one of the few songwriters in the world worth mentioning in the same breath as Brian Wilson and Graham Nash. (A great loss, by the way!)
Thank you :) I absolutely love this beautiful song but know nothing about the band. Did Radio 1 DJ's John Peel ( or maybe Bob Harris) used to play this? Music is my first love - so true. Sue
oceans apart is a great album; the band had once again hit full stride, with even greater things to come, i believe-so sad about Grant, and bless Robert for being Robert-
The Go-Betweens are who I think of when I hear the term 'endlessly listenable'.

Wow, these new songs are getting more views than their original 1980s stuff! Strange but there you have it.

This is truly one of the most beautiful "pop" songs of the last 30 years.
It's a shame that it wasn't a #1 hit across the globe, because it should have been.
I can't get enough of it, and it brings chills with each listen.

@meiguoren66 .. I had that thought too, but geez.. you'd bring on the tears.
There is truly something special about "finding you"..even the first few bars... a kind of wistful pathos?, a sensitive beautiful dignified humanity?
.. the tribute version is excellent too, which I must buy.
