A beautiful yet ironically hard-hitting song, with John and the Girls delivering an incredible performance here ... easily in my Top Ten Videos ALLTIME !!!
LOL!! Michael you would love this one... I was just sitting here listening to this song as I often do. Have it in my Q... Never realized the little one was around. She came in and God I love this song! WoW! I just about hit the floor! She is 9, She knew the words too!! She likes Johns voice too.. Told her so does Michael... Sh said Michael is really going to town on the Keyboard!! I love it!! Young people tht hear this music LOVE IT!! Timeless music!!
Unbelievable as this may sound I never actually knew the lyrics to the song until you printed them here. I never even knew the second line of the song as I quite simply didn't care about the words. I only ever concerned myself with the music. By the time the second line came in I was always concentrating on the music so hard that I just didn't take any notice of what John was singing so brilliantly. I realise that this sounds crazy but it just happens to be true.
@The1stBaby....Mike....Great stuff....Q. When recorded did you have a horn section or is that you playing an organ piece?...Also I love the Babettes....Give us crazy Baby's fans some insight on them...they are incredible as was you and the whole band.
@caldm It's a proper horn section who had earned well and truly earned the title of enthusiastic nose-dusters by the time they got it right. They were all rounded up for us by Ron Nevison, our producer, at The Record Plant in LA, back in 1977.
The Babettes were all drawn from Andre Crouch & The Disciples - generally accepted as the world's finest gospel choir. We were lucky enough to be able to take them on tour with us.
falling in love is never a mistake..chance it,,you never know!!

It's cool how the back up singers do the chorus and Waite answers them....very cool song! Some worthy music there!

Such a great song, thanks for the subtitles. What an underappreciated band! Influenced more popular bands that came along later.

I agree with you.
I think that many rock fans should admire The Babys more.
