The fish is dead. It's sick that they're messing with it but it is dead. My guess is that it was knocked out and cleaned. During the cleaning process it dies. Since it was freshly dead, however, the muscles were still having contractions and spasms. Similar to the way any animal's heart would remain beating for several minutes after being completely removed from the body.

some people might now this but Islam is the only religion that forbid the butchers from showing their knifes to the animal before killing it (proposes of eating) to not scare it off cuz animals have feelings 2, I think that eating you food and the animal is cut open is the most brutal thing on earth.. I admire cultures but not all should be practiced... specially on living creatures.

The fish is dead. It's sick that they're messing with it but it is dead. My guess is that it was knocked out and cleaned. During the cleaning process it dies. Since it was freshly dead, however, the muscles were still having contractions and spasms. Similar to the way any animal's heart would remain beating for several minutes after being completely removed from the body.
