This level is hard. The game in general is. I somehow manage to complete it when i was young(like 8/9 years old), but not 100%. I only could do that so more years later, even after 100% completing Crash 2, 3 and CTR. So yeah, Crash 1 is HARD. Oh, Sunset Vista and Slippery Climb, love u guys!

Yeah, I hated these dark levels (this and Temple Ruins). Not only were they difficult, they also had the most boxes of any level (TR had 67; this one had 65, which are the 2 highest box totals in the first game... yeah, I counted... I have no life)

I find the hardest part of this level to be the Cortex bonus stage. I still can't beat it. I can see the end but just can't quite get there, don't cha hate it when that happens.

I noticed something interesting for the first time whilst playing this level recently - thanks to you - if you have invincibility and then try to collect another Aku Aku mask, sparks start flying. It doesn't lengthen your invincibility or do anything useful at all, but it's (somewhat) interesting, and I didn't know about it before.

@Evilaark i've done that too, its because the max counter for Aku Aku mask is 3, so if you get more, you see the effect of gaining a mask for invincibility, but the state doesnt change. You cant have a 4th mask...

In my opinion, Garland would be faster if were invincibility, destroying those boxes would be much more easier
