@blusuck Good question. It's actually a hard choke to land and unless he feels threatened by the choke, the sweep won't be easy. But since the sweep is a basic hook sweep, sure you could use it independent of the choke.
In my opinion I would rather use the guillotine choke coz its much tighter and secure than the cobra choke. Im JUST SAYING. But there could be an advantage to that cobra choke :) just don't know.
The advantage i can see from it is the Guillotine makes you pull guard and if you lose it the opponent has the dominant position. With this it looks like a good way to roll to mount. The cobra choke itself doesn't look like it would be an effective submission but it would definitely make you forget your base so the can roll ya.
Would this work if your back is against the cage? Seems like a great sub and sweep when you first scoot up against the cage when you're in guard.

Fancy pants guillotine. Who the hell am I kidding, i'll be using it next session. I'm a sucker for shiny marketing.

This reminds me of a no-gi ezekiel choke except inverted.

@johannyee This is a Guillotine. IMO just because you change how you grip a bit doesn't make it not a Guillotine.

how is this diff from your "reverse guillotine". It seems that you just grab your wrist instead of your bicep.
