  • i bei ricordi degli anni 80'

  • Comment removed

  • ahh, the 1980's,, soooo many of these videos have a Polaroid camera in them.. it's amazing lol they have a unique visual appeal in vids likes this, compared to a Kodak 110, or disc camera etc....

  • @all the people posting about this song and whether or not the singer is gay or not, come on...who cares, its obviously a song people love, and to the people questioning his sexuality just take a look back at several artists from the 80's & u prob will find quite a few more to add 2 your list, of course a few are, like George Michael but he still is a great artist. Sexuality doesn't define a persons talent.

  • not a single woman in the video

  • Amazing song they just don't write them like this anymore :)

  • oh gino baby come play at my birthday party pleeeeeez!!!!!!!!!

  • So cool! I LOVED this video, at the time!

  • I love it!!

  • :OOOO AWESOME song!

  • 1984/85...long ago...miss good music like that now...thank you very much for posting !

  • Uuuuh... ich erinnere mich. ^^ Mein Bruder hatte die Maxi-Single. :D Gino trat damals mit dem Song im ZDF auf und ich fand den schon richtig cool. Lange her...

  • heard it on the radio, didnt know who it was came home and said "its this guy"? good song

  • Clasic .

  • :D thanks for posting this song!!!! FABULOUS stuff!!!! :D *thumbs way up* :D

  • THE

    PLANTATION.

  • Great song!!! Great year for the music and for my life

  • Thumbs up if Sang Huxtable Seaver Park sent ya!

  • @MrWanghan Que?

  • I've got this album! Had a major crush on Gino back then...♥

  • One of my all time favorite songs. LONG LIVE THE 1980's.

  • Well, now, looking around, I can't verify what I just said. I was certainly TOLD it was Gino, but I can't prove it as fact.

I'm sure someone knowing more than myself will chime in and say "yay", or "nay".

Excure me for throwing out potentially false information....I'm usually more careful.

  • Que buenos recuedos, las 1eras. salidas, los cumple de quince....!!!

  • Ochenteros Síganos En Face Como "vidaochentera"

  • Confieso q he pasado grandes tardes viendo (musica total videos) q grande los ochentas...!!!

  • Not one of his better songs, but hey Gino had a lot of great songs before this.

  • He looks like David Hasellhoff in this video. A good song, but terrible production. Another example of a 70's artist making a misguided attempt to fit in during the 80's. Of course, a lot of that was down to record company execs and producers trying to make veteran artists sound "contemporary" at the time.

  • CON ESTA CANCION CONOCÍ A GINO VANNELLI EN LO 80

  • TURN IT UP!~!!

  • Why is Gino Vanelli singing in a bar filled with drag queens?

  • @34airflow he probably travels the hershey highway

  • @Ratt2004 no, as a matter of fact he doesn't. Totally hetero. Sorry to disappoint you. Guess you'll have to look elsewhere.

  • @lasktguy yeah right, he's driving in the HOV lane of the hershey highway.

  • @jimidrix5 man, you really seem like you want him to be gay even though he's not. I'm starting to think that with all your fantasizing about him you're the hershey boy, not him.

  • A definate 80's staple to the sound and look for what the time was like. An interestingn fact: take a closer look at the 'women' in and around the club, including the driver of the black car....they are all men in drag! It seems as if actual women show up towards the end when surrounding Gino with their Polaroid cameras! I always found that slightly odd yet acceptable for this video and the era! Enjoy!

  • @mexicancomic13 The driver of the black car/"woman" at the table IS Gino Vanelli. Had to be pointed out to me in '85 when I first saw the video. I thought "she " was quite attractive and was rather embarrassed, later. Oh, well, naiive teenager.

  • es el pretexto perfecto para tenerun auto negro

  • Gino has a mullet here!

  • Black Cars = Some women aren't as attractive as they first appear. That's why a black car looks better in the shade. Get it? It's a connotation.

  • Its like being inside of a chapagne glass YEAH!

  • I was born the year this song was made... And I love it!!

  • La signora che fa le foto con la polaroid... Era proprio un' altra epoca :)

  • Before the dark time...before the war on fun began...

  • Black cars do look better in the shade. Under sunlight or flourescent lighting, you can see all the swirl marks!

  • I almost forgot about this song!

  • this shit is brutal

  • this guy purchased his clothes on the same store Don Johson did on 80s

  • Cool song!

  • OMGA I remember this song ! Gino was so hip even in the 80's meeoww

  • this song kicks ass...too bad this song wasn't well received in the USA, back in the day...

  • reminds me of the old cabere nights

  • One of my favorite songs from the 80s.

  • Gino and JOE .. Vannelli, for years, i knew these guys back in 72, as , still as , good , as.

  • Rare and hard to find...

  • I thought the lryrics were: 'look better in the rain'. P me off or what? By the way - I think they DO look better in the rain.

  • i´ll always remember the 80´s.

  • Vanelli, niggaaaaaa!!!!!!!

  • 80's were the best for music and ppl think it's gay lol what do they know this was real music

  • 2:52 The twirl with the spiked heels and the black nylons. Daayyyummm.

  • too kewl

  • Is maybe Gino Vannelli gay?

  • @roboroschi nope, its just the 80's

  • I met a guy from the states, who ( I didn't know then), but he was a racist! Glad to go back to Canada! It was all good until then, though.... Don't like racist stuff....

  • @ralphyization Tell me more.

  • BTW, this is the same Gino that is dancing in the old American Bandstand jumbotron footage at Boston Celtics games.

    IT'S GINO TIME!!!

    I want the T-Shirt

  • Gino Vannelli sei il migliore! Grande.

  • With all those women in black and his voice, it's very Robert Palmer... brings back memories for sure!

  • @grimandproper Vannelli's music preceded Palmer's big hits so I'd say Palmer was very Gino Vannelli..it's a compliment to both these stylish singers..and they both knew all about gorgeous women..YOWSA..

  • at 1:53, Gino Vannelli reaches the pinnacle of his music career.

  • This song influenced me in the thinking that black cars look better in the shade. Plus, it is a notable (seni-pop) song in its own right.

  • barolino

  • Yep, and i had a black car! Played it too loud when it came out, still playing it too loud now.

  • The girl at 1:32 is dreamy...

  • I just rediscovered this song!! This seems to be happening to everyone.

  • Hoo,hoo,ha,ha,ha! Talk about 80s'd out!

  • i've spend years till foun dthis video. and so it goes 14 years..... man, this song is recorded on my mind...

  • weird, this song came in my head just now, and hadnt heard it since my teens, lol.

  • Danced to this song in the Dance Company with a nice and sexy Jazz dance. We were called "The Silhouettes". And we wore all Black and Black shades!!!!! Black cars look better the shade!!!!

  • I remember this song at my SafeGrad 85, or the high school graduation dance. I was having so much fun that night...years ago as a teenager. Great song..it is timeless!

  • Gino Vannelli has a great voice....MORE FANTASTIC ´80´s music at my channel!!!!

  • makes me think of lydell carr running 61 against Penn State in the 85 National Championship.

  • Apparently, black cars look better in the shade.

  • Im so happy I was born in 1985

  • The first time I heard this tune, it was the extend dance mix. I didn't know who it was until a few days later I guy I worked with told me. Hey, it made Gino cool in my books!

  • Had no idea there was a video for this!! Yay!!

  • I LONGED TO LIKE THIS VIDEO OF GINO VANELLI SO MUCH, SINCE I WAS IN THE FIRST YEAR HIGH SCHOOL UNTIL NOW. COLLECTOR'S ITEM!

  • The chick in this vid looks like a fregg'in guy. Is it?????

  • @spookespook yes it is!

  • spookespook, alot of the women in this video are men and vice versa. I also heard that the person driving the car is Gino Vinelli, though they have someone else do the rest of the part.

  • He shaved his chest when he dressed as the Woman in this video

  • Ahhhhh brings back memories..... LOL

    Thanks for posting the video

  • Robert Palmer ripped off the idea for his Addicted to Love video from Gino here.

  • love this song, reminds me of Montreal!

  • semplicemente grandioso

  • @locandaitaliana scusa,ma si chiama Vanelli o Vannelli?

  • @Ale84Biker Caspita , bella domanda, bisogna andare a vedere su wikipedia....

  • @locandaitaliana su Wikipedia dice Vannelli, grazie per avermi risposto

  • I really like this hit for the music itself..Gino had a few hits spanning the mid-seventies and eighties. He was a Canadian, along with Corey Hart & Bryan Adams. Bryan of coarse being posssibly the biggest name in Canadian music, even surpassing the likes of Anne Murray & Gorden Lightfoot...both dominated the canadian pop scene in the seventies. Gino was french-canadian was he not? thx4postin'

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ Italian-Canadian

  • Me la ricordo questa....mitico Gino.

  • Great Song :)

  • Love the song and remember dancing to it back in the '80s. The woman in the video sitting in front of Gino is "Gino in drag."

  • Gino in drag.

  • My mom has been cleaning his house for 3 years, and this is the first time I have actually listened to his music. hahaha.

  • Black cars...coches negros, sencillo de ¿aunque usted no lo crea? gino vannelli? si gino vannelli

    gino vannelli ¡Bhaaa!

  • grande gino.....nostro orgoglio...

  • I wonder if he had the same producer as Robert Palmer. Memories of Jr High dances come running back. Classic 80's music video style. Rumur has it he has mob ties. I always liked the song but thought he was kind of cheesey with his Miami Vice style.

  • I even know this song and i was born in 94.

  • Here is a skill testing question for all: Who is the lady who walks in to the club and sits at the table in front of Gino? This is good video trivia to stump your friends with.

  • At 1:05?

I'm stumped. Who is (s)he? Is it GINO VANELLI himself?

  • José Carlos Vanelli, jeje!!!

  • I take it back,I do remeber this song.

I didn't know who did it till now.

I remeber my band back in the 90's wanted to cover it. but again we forgot who did it.

    So we never did.

Again sorry for the negatve commnet earlier.

  • Lost classic

    NOT

I don't even remember this song

was he going for a robert palmer look?

  • I had totally forgotten about this guy. The 80's memories come flooding back-LOL

  • i wish i lived in the 80s :(

  • @leela194 the 60s 70s and 80s had best clothes music and dance i wish i was born 50 years ago

  • Gino Vannelli is probably the most under-rated singer/songwriter of all time. There are many people who still today don't know his work; and for the life of me I've never been able to figure out why.

His vocal stylings are incredible, and he's always given 110% in all of his shows. This is one of his best efforts. Thanks for posting.

  • The 80s are the best for sure, I agree with all of you! Wish they came back for good...

  • Gawd I miss the 80s....

  • 01:47 hot

  • alright well no need to be a dick "Stentor7"

  • For all fans of this song check out a video i made of flying an F-18 Fighter jet rockin to Black Cars. Enjoy! Search: F-18 Black Cars

  • Or they could just click on your name, and look it up, hello Captain Obvious?

  • Great song-childhood memories....

  • awesome song and a super talented artist from Canada!!)

  • I think it's funny that the video, for the most part, takes place in a bar full of drag queens.

  • dayum ....gino was fine!!!! i love him, his music , his voice , his moves...last time i saw him in Ft. Worth,Tx...1978 or 79 he came out with a Dallas cowboy jersey i believe it was # 12 Roger Staugbaugh!! i loved that concert and will never forget it!!!!!

  • She cuts a perfect silhouette!

  • a Classic!!!!!

  • this song was on a cassette we got free when we bought a tape deck. it had a bunch of other awesome stuff on it (Obsession by Animotion, Walk The Dinosaur by Was [Not Was], Wipeout by Fat Boys)

hopefully someone else out there knows of this tape!

  • ritmo incalzante!!!

    canzone legata a tanti ricordi!!!

    che forte!!!

  • i saw gino september 27, 2009 in las vegas, do this song. hey guys he still has it. in fact he's better and he has not lost his looks. he still puts out albums. the newest is A GOOD THING. you can go to web site store and buy it with his autograph. it's a great album. his concert in vegas was great. I got to meet him and he is a very nice man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When this came out, the subject matter piqued my interest because it described an aunt I had at the time. She was very attractive in her prime, but was now in her 60s and dyed her gray hair red and fought hopelessly against the ravages of time.

  • Gino .... Vanelli!!!

  • Anyways, this is one of my favorite songs from him. Oh, he's so hot, too!!!

  • dedicato a chi spero non attraversi sulle strisce questa notte...poi ..la nebbbia...si sa ..può capitare !!!!Tamara è incazzata nera ma con la colt nel reggicalze...

  • I had this tape & wore it out... LOL ... I was such a dork. but still love the song

  • Dude, you weren't a dork--this was the shit back in the day. I still love old music like this.

  • So do I. I remember this tune playing alot in the night clubs my gal and I use to party at. This was a great dancing song. I liked this song most of all because I had a black car.

  • @bj616 dont take offence to this but like are you like 40 or something cause if so i enve you for being around for the 80's if not then i'm an idiot

  • I am 45 and the 80's were the best time of my life. I thought everything was good about it.

  • @bj616 awesome

  • If there were only time machines eh?

  • @bj616 yeah man i am 16 but the 80's look like they were the best

  • They were indeed. In 1980 I was 16, that's when I got my drivers License, what fun!!

  • hey I just looked up this song randomly and here you are posting.....how about that. 3 weeks after you, Im digging the Vanelli

  • I use to have a black 73 Nova SS so I have always liked this song from day one. My wife and I use to go to the clubs here in White Rock back in 1985 and often dance to this song.

  • lol, I thought you liked it because it was about your black '08 Honda Fit that you drive about, lol

  • Ha Ha, that's my wife's car. I don't even own a vehicle anymore, just my Harley. She only lets me use her car to drive to work.

  • wow, l can only dream of the day I DONT own an engine with wheels. Unfortunately that won`t be happening soon, lol

I always thought it was yours with the hawg sticker that you have on the car, but then again that little car needs a testosterone shot anyway, lol

  • I sold my last vehicle a year ago and it has been the first time ever I've been without four wheels. By the way, my wife hates my Harley sticker in her back window, lol. She peels it off and I stick it back on, lol

  • @1m00re Julia Roberts at 0:53 ?

  • @ggnnzz079 looks like hefner in the opening

Pelotudo!

  • haha what an idiot not everyone who speaks spanish is mexican you ignorant! i was actually born in the usa i grew up there and on Argentina.

  • Gringo hijo de puta

  • When I was sixteen years old I heard this song played once on the radio. I was with a friend traveling in his car. I wondered;... Who was it that was singing that wonderful song?

"Black Cars look better in the shade"...Indeed they do...

    Gino Vanelli,..great song!

  • I use to play this song when it came out, I had a 1978 ford cougar that was black identical to the one in this video, too cooool :)

  • I thought I imagined this song for a minute! The last time I heard it was 1985 in Sandbridge,Virginia Beach,VA-on my way there actually.Good job and good times!

  • que buen tema, gracias por compratirlo , Saludos desde argentina !!

  • Temón

  • I must have danced to this song amongst dry ice 1,000 times.

  • Another (sadly) underplayed, underrated song from the 1980s. I was much, much younger back then, but I did enjoy hearing this song when my kids would play this (rather loudly) in our basement. I would open the basement's door so I could hear it better. It was always fun to hear the drum solo with headphones on topped off with Gino's "Whoooo!"

  • Que vivan los ochentas!!!!!

  • Amen!

  • I hear a lot of good songs while I'm shopping.

  • Ok now this is gonna sound fu**ed up but .. I completley forgot about this song until i was in JC Penney At South Park Mall In San Antonio.. and it came up over the loudspeakers.i was like wtf?? "i haven't heard this song in a long time" and was mesmerized all over again GREAT song!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Gino!!!!!!!nAnd thanks for posting Arroaz!!!!!!!!!!

  • Another wonderful 80's song.....Gino could rock.

  • One of the quintessential 80s songs... love it!

  • This is a song you have to crank WAY up with the windows down !

    :)

  • tremendo tema me encanta

  • love this

  • Yet another song where Gino looks fine and sounds better! I liked his look during this period, and he's still great today!

  • Great Song !
