i'm not surprised but the number of positive comments, but i am surprised that so few people have commented on the violinist's performance. i didn't think it was great. a few mistakes from 0:43 - 0:51 and others. but perhaps that's being overcritical. it was an overall good performance, but not great in my book.

i don't wanna believe that the man that play's this piece i yahudi menuhin.....he is e great violonist but this i m afraid is a bad performance ...i mean vadim repin plays this piece in a video where he is just twelve ....just listen to him ...faster a looooooot , he most clear passages and harmonics i mean ...i don't doubt menuhin but this is not a good performance
there is no point of being faster..... dynamic is important and tempo.....if its slow and fast and quiet and loud its good, but if its only fast and loud its static ( sry for bad english gram.)
this sound like with liszt's la campanella etude... btw, the violin's great! i can even imagine that violins can reach those high notes (well, because this is my first time to hear such piece). XD
I discovered Paganini when I was young, and I have always had the same opinion : no one has ever come to close to writing for, or playing, the violin like him-- ever. Bravo !
I really enjoy this piece by Pag, but I prefer Bach's violin compositions overall. I feel like I'm missing something haha. Can you give me some recommendations of Paganini? I've heard his caprices no. 5 and 24 btw.
ps, "..come close to... playing, the violin like him" do you have unknown records of Paganini or something ;-)
Salvatore Accardo has recorded it, among with the other five paganini concerti. If you're going to buy them, buy the late recordings from the second half of the 70s, not from the 90s. They are much better
while lestening to this i just close my eyes and laugh dont know why

Liszt transcribed this piece for piano. Paganini was the creator of this beautiful melody :-)

I agree that the recording of the 70s is technically much much better
although i prefer the 90s, I do not care that lots of notes are out of tune, but then he has sometimes much nicer musical ideas ...
depends how you listen to music
