It would of been more realistic if it was a shotgun and the cat was sleeping on it's side and the cat's stomach was facing the shotgun and the shotgun bullet got him right in the middle where most of the blood is. It would of shot right through the cat, blown him in two, and he would of gone flying. Plus shotguns go off by accident more. Still love the scene though.
