  • Not attractive? BS.

  • Good video.

  • 1) I'm not a popula mr and good looking as the popular boys in my school and 2) I'm mildly camp XD thanks you for making this video it made my day xD

  • You are an amazing and inspirational person. Thank you.

  • Great message.

  • You are such an amazing person, lol.

At first I only liked Josh from the GayCollab, and then I fell inlove with your accent/facial fur (LUST OR LOVE RiGHT?!), and after watching your videos I realize that you're such an intelligent person. I could listen to you talk all day.

I'm my own worst bully, and it's hard to stop that. Everything I do isn't from my own point of view. I can't do my hair the way I like it because I'm worried about how others will look at it. Stupid, I know, but wha'evs.

  • Dude thank you. That was great. Things I need accept1) the fact that I am not that good looking 2) the fact that I am not as masculine as some guys

  • I thank you for this upload, bacause there are way too many people who are not self confident and also way too many people judging others! For me it's kinda different.. I've always loved myself, no matter what body size, appearance, hair-do or wardrobe I had! I did not and still do not wish to engage in talking ABOUT people and judge them in any way! Whenever people came up to me with various questions about other persons, my reaction has been always the same : "Ask them yourself"

  • Thank you very much for the video, It makes it very clear that not everyone should be so focused on what they think should be "normal", our differences do make us who we are and because of those differences we not only should we be proud of them but know that are differences make us be able to belong , not that we should look to belong but know we belong regardless of our diferencess .....thank you again our Aussie friend in Cananda

  • This video and thread are absolute proof that the world IS getting better. Well done!

  • You're pagan too :) Growing up as the fat kid hasn't been easy, but it makes you cherish the fiends you have, because your biggest weakness is written across your face. Live life to the fullest and DFTBA.

  • Great video...I think boxes are for moving...I think you have to like yourself and just be yourself...Be open to all that life has...I love those that are different then myself.

  • This video reminded me of how theres a lot of gays, or at least the ones I've encountered on social networks, who have a problem with a gay christian. Its not like I'm gonna tell them their going to hell or something, I don't understand how you can want acceptance and then not accept those in your own community. My beliefs aren't hurting anyone and being gay doesn't mean I have to change who I am, not my personality or beliefs.

  • @Auron1Roxas2 Exactly, personal beliefs are personal. I've had an ex who used to be a Greek Preist and he was only 30 and I was all "I don't care, it's not going to make me damn you to hell"

  • @ExplorationB Agreed, I try not to judge other people for who they are or what they believe or don't believe in, cause I know thats a very negative and frankly an asshole thing to do.

  • Wow that was powerful. Thanks for that. Cheers ;)

  • @vidvip thank you for watching, I need to let people know that we are good enough, for anything.

  • this is why i Just love who you are!! :)

Youre so inspiring! Strong! Determined and willing to help others in their fight too!

    youre amazing! :)

    xx

  • @misskritt Thank you babe! Can't wait to party with you!!

  • Very well said. :)

  • @UKClosetGuy Thank you ! :-)

  • Thats how they treat us. So they know how's that feelbut is in the same way.

at least they dont get beat up.

At least she getting to understand now

Thank you i like this video

  • @leo124323 Thank you for watching and yes, I went into that with her

  • It's people like you who give me hope.

  • @Tullidar1 Thank you that is an honor.

  • You're pagan! That's cool. I am always drawn to their beliefs. I find them so fascinating and like how I think already. Maybe I'm a natural born pagan. LOL. I agree with this 100% especially the clothes thing, I tend not to buy some clothes I want because I'm afraid of how other people make react to it, like I'll think, "does this make me look gay?" LOL, how bizarre is that? It took me years before I'd even wear a purple shirt! LOL

  • @DirBlair But what do we do to stop it? Feeling safe is important and if it wasn't I would go to the clubs every weekend and wear fake blood... luckily when I go back to Australia, I can lol

  • I think you did a great job at bringing up all the things you hate having to do in order to feel accepted. You really nailed it!

Its like we have to make ourselves feel uncomfortable in order to feel comfortable.

  • @TheAndyLoraProgram This is one reason why I admire wholeheartedly people like yourself and Jas. I feel like I am struggling to fit in but my life is pretty easy in comparison to some of the bullshit people would dish up if I was as out there as I would like to be. Both you and Jas' strength and expression of self inspires me to be braver with myself.

  • @ExplorationB Wow! I'm glad I can make somewhat of an impact on your life. You may know it or not, but you are helping so many other as well by telling your story.

And it feels amazing to express yourself freely in the world, but safety always comes first. Just yesterday I walked home by myself after a party and groups of man kept hollering at me and I thought I was going to die (in all seriousness). I came home and cried. So I hope we all can get the message across. That's whats important <3

  • @TheAndyLoraProgram TOTALLY that was along the lines of my next vid. One of the guys on here did a video saying that people who were in the closet were hurting openly gay people by staying in the closet. I objected. When I realised I was gay, my friend shortly after went to jail for killing a gay man - so I waited 4 more years. Safety first. Unfortunatly I have also been in positions where I had to act straight to survive. I'm glad you got home safe :-(

  • @ExplorationB Of course! No one should ever be forced to come out or made felt guilty for not coming out. I pretty much knew I was gay since I was about 5, even though I didn't understand the word "gay". But I had to act Straight in order to survive during Middle School, and the beginning of High School.

Its a sad world. I can't believe your friend killed a guy for being gay. Does he know you're gay now?

  • @TheAndyLoraProgram He just added me on facebook last month so I think he might know now LMAO.

  • strong video. I do actually luv bein diiferent altough it aint easy sumtimes ;)

  • @DevilwearinVans I love being different too. :-)

  • there is dutch ex-gay-advertisment next to your video o.O

  • @DasRL LOL Click on them and they get charged. Unfortunately I don't have control over the ads :-(

  • @ExplorationB well, today its an ad for Narnia, i can life with that xD

  • @DasRL That's better, still christian but better

  • That was so beautifully said. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  • @impaladave77 Thank you for watching :-)

  • fuck, fucking great video. don't think i could have ever said anything that eloquently on the subject and applaud you for your courage. thanks Dan.

  • @countvladdracule thank you for watching. These videos never perform that well in views but they are important I think to get the message out there you know?

  • @LEROYG1963 lol hugs back

  • @Cadaspian Thanks Bro :-)

  • @aidenx182 thank you for watching them, I know it's super tough, but hang in there

  • Really powerful message! I especially like how you connected self acceptance with becoming more understanding and forgiving of others. The only thing I would say is be careful of labelling your defenses as "stupid." You developed them to protect yourself, and just because you have outgrown them doesn't mean you were stupid to have them in the first place.

  • @rabbitfish63 Thank you :-) I guess I just meant they are no longer needed.

  • @aidenx182 I know it can seem really bad, but as I have battled with my weight (being obese) since I was 9, I'd love to be skinny. Haha. Maybe we can do some 'weight-transferring' or something? :P

  • Such a strong confident message...won't be an easy task, Dan....but it's worth the effort in the end!!!

    Much Love

  • @arklightbabybear Thank you :-)

  • Great vid Dan!! People have sooo fucked up Christ's teachings! They call themselves "Christian" but they are not... These faux Christians are so full of hate... There is not a "Christian" bone inn their body.

Dan..thanks so much for putting yourself out there... We all need to do this. I am sure..even though you may not realize it..you have helped.... The internet is not "controlled" by the news media. Not so long ago "people" chose what the masses would read or see on TV.Hugs! Jim and Dave

  • @stoner829 You're right. Thank you s o mcuh

  • Well said man. It's kinda ironic that it's our differences that cause us all to have this similarity

  • @Fr4yTheStrings amen

  • my mind is mixed: one point ill think im fat the next too thin i always hate looking in the mirror at my body but my face never bothers me(when i dont wear my glasses) - i do try to hide the fact that im gay with more *masculine* looking clothes when im around family cause i dont want them to feel uncomfortable but im perfectly okay wearing whatever i want in public cause its strangers opinions and i dont have to live with them- ironically im arrogant when im comfortable around people i know :P

  • @GaaraSabuka :-)

  • Aw. So true about the boxes. Very nice vid. That seems to be a bit of a trend, I'd say.

Also, so, so hard to stick with that mindset! I don't know how many times I've inwardly counseled myself that this or that needs to/is going to change, only to forget it soon after. Takes a lot of practise. It's hard. =(

  • @breakingthisdown LOTS of practice, thanks for watching mate

  • Thumb up and fave!

  • @mastrama13 Thank you :-)

  • BTW, I like the video as self acceptance, & accepting any given situations our lives bring, is the first step in over coming such things, such as a death, a traumatic experience, etc. Or when its not a bad thing but simply a difficult thing to accept due to society's (current) limited view on things, such as being gay, acceptance can be the first step towards self empowerment. So maybe, Accept yourself & become self confident would be a more accurate title. Keep up the good work. Take Care.

  • Its not that I deny your freedom to have your faith or religion, I simply am saying its not a prerequisite, as some would have us believe. For Atheists are treated even worse than gays in some circles, as its seen as directly going against God's will to denounce faith & belief, even if one does so just for oneself. As far as you being a Pagan, that's a vary broad term. To Christians any religion other than Christianity is Pagan, to others only Wiccans or Druids are Pagans. Which are you?

  • People do more than shun one another, they kill one another for perceived differences. The fact is, we are all the same race, the human race sharing a common experience, that being life on the same planet. We have adapted to varying landscapes & the weather that goes a long with it, & we have created unique cultures & languages, but we all share a common capacity for emotion, for knowledge, for expression, for a desire to do & be something, that is our commonality, which requires religion.

  • My only issue with your Christian comparison, is even Christians who support gays use Bibles with the same passages as those who hate gays, & if you can discount just the parts you don't like as mistranslations, misunderstanding due to the limited understanding of the time, misinterpretation, etc, you can say the same for any and all passages of any holy book using that logic. When you believe something without evidence you can verify, you can & will believe anything, history has shown this.

  • I think since the Gay community has such a deep connection with the arts, we are influenced by the negative aspects of that industry, such as its promotion of under weight models. Likewise, the media has promoted smoking & drinking to our community as it has other communities, which is why the rate of smoking amongst gay males is higher than their peers. I would not be surprised if eating disorders amongst young gay men isn't higher than their strait peers, due to the role models they see.

  • Unfortunately, 60% of Americans are over weight & 30 of that group are Obese. The focus is often on folks who starve themselves, because the impact of dietary restriction tends to be apparent much sooner than from over eating. I think also, that so many of us have some extra pounds, that it has become the norm except for those who are truly heavy. I think unhealthily thin folks are glamorized in the media, via the fashion industry, which impacts other aspects of the arts.

  • There are tree reasons people eat what they eat, social, political, & habit. I think you can include environmental in habit. I work at a place that serves food to the public, & I'm shocked at how many people either don't know or don't care what's in their food. I have lost several family to strokes, heart attacks, etc, all related to lifestyle, so I have become painfully aware of what I put in my mouth. I read labels, I have educated myself, and I exercise.

  • I see a lot of these rail thin female & male models, & the young folks that emulate them, & I worry about the damage they are doing to themselves. Osteoporosis (weak bones) is just one side effect of being under weight. Folks who are severely underweight can actually damage their organs. Eating disorders are the mental illness with the highest mortality rate, higher than depression, schizophrenia, etc. Of course, Obesity is an eating disorder, with many causes, lack of nutritional knowledge, etc

  • Can you expand on the part about poor nutrition & slimming down. I have fought the battle of the bulge most of my life, & have recently been using better eating habits along with exercise to get into much better shape. I'm striving to get back to what I haven't seen since graduating boot camp 27 years ago, lol. From what I've seen, a lot of heavy people don't know what a healthy weight is. If you were under weight according to your doctor, that would be vary unhealthy, especially long term.

  • "Accepted, and not tolerated" man I loved this video !

I've always wanted to accept the fact that I talk too much, which seems pretty dumb and easily fixable. Sadly, so far, people have always made me feel like it's very bad. So every day I have to remind me that it's a part of what makes me who I am, that some people like me for this, and that it's helped me countless times to put fingers on problems and solve them. (ironically, people hating me for being gay would be easier!)

  • @GayGHvain87 The weird thing is, when you accept that part of you other people generally do too. My ex used to tell me I talked about myself too much and then I asked him how he expected me to relate to him if we weren't sharing stories. Because I had complex about it, by the end of the relationship I knew everything about him and he knew nothing about me... I now accept I talk about myself, but I also talk about other people too, it was actually his problem with obsessing about himself he put

  • Right on!

  • @mammacoco1 :-)

  • you're charming :P and yes sir, be confident about oneself and accept you for who you are. totally agree :)

  • @valianted *high five*

  • Could not have said it better myself, but it is not the easiest thing to put into practice..

    grant

  • @granthephaestion500 it's an ongoing thing for sure

  • @ExplorationB Thanks mate for your reply back to me mate means a lot as you have so Meany fans.Keep fighting to keep those lbs off, because you will become like me 265lbs if you are not careful then you have a real battle mate LOL. The pagan thing you have going, most of the so called christian festivals are pagan, they have just been given new titles

    hugs grant

  • Bravo!!!!!

  • @brikag thank you :-)

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • @josephjuvenile Thank you - I knew I had to do it right.

  • Well said Dan!

  • @russtex Thanks buddy

  • Oh! that's news. Tell us about being Pagan. I'd love to know more!

  • @natureboywonder Well I am an atheist but Pagan, meaning I Don't believe in a god, and use pagan ceremony and tradition :-) It works for me. YAY PAGANISM lol

  • some times I don't eat for days

  • @jc500500 you need to stop that and at least feed yourself something that will sustain you

  • First off, EXCELLENT VIDEO! I understand not only the "Christian" box, but also the "Gay" box! Often times there are people who will say, "How can you be both GAY & CHRISTIAN?". Couple that with the people who are fearful that, as a Christian" I will be bigotted, narrow-minded, and not able to accept their faith journey or belief as valid and valuable! ... (1 or 2)

  • @thanatosnoir It can get frustrating and even painful at times. I cannot say that I will be stronger from this moment on. But I will say that I will strive for the ideal that you put forth. Because the most I can do is strive and work on it day by day. Blessings in all that you do and keep making these great videos... 2 of 2

  • Very inspiring. Well done.

  • I love this!! this is soo true!

  • @simsguildwars thank you! Make sure you share it

  • Well said.

Your video has given me the courage to say that I now accept the fact that I often admire others to the point of being obsessed with them.

Regardless the gender of the person being admired, I will not be ashamed.

If society is to view that as a marker of me being homosexually inclined, so be it.

There is a fine border between admiration and adoration, and the later could be love.

I'd like to believe that I'm adding to the love in the world and every bit of my fan-boying helps :D

  • @pspm01 Great! I am glad oyu found that in yourself

  • Well said.

  • You're pagan? I didn't know that! Oh, and grats on coming to this realization.

  • @mecko21 I knew it since I was 16 but thank you! I just don't speak about it

  • Great vid, and thanks for helping me build my confidence :).

  • @korisx Good! You should be awesome like everyone else

  • This vid has been done in one form or another by many ppl, i love every single one of them. there is NOTHING more important than these goals for a happy healthy gay person. All you teens should work on that before coming out. you need a strong core you, to fall back on when all you have is you

    ! LIFE

  • @sleekcartim Thank you

  • the fact that you're.. pagan? did i hear right..?

  • @shloopy5 Yes, I am an Atheist Pagan. :-)

  • @aurestest Congrats lol

  • Well done Dan! <3 Sal

  • @sarahxox23 Thank you Sal...

  • In high school I became really obsessed with the way I look. At one point I was almost too skinny. It took me a while to learn how to love myself the way I am but I'm glad I do. As for people who don't accept me, they aren't worth my time anyways.

  • @ItsDianaSkye I understand, and that never goes away does it? They are not worthy of anything you have to give.

  • thats nice and all but im still waiting for the youtubers reunion ! im thinking the cactus club restaurant alitle fancy but not too trashy <3 so im waiting

  • @robertonator101 LOL I know, soon matey. Make sure you are on my facebook page!

  • @ExplorationB whats you fb page? !?

  • @robertonator101 just look on my channel and click facebook

  • I've accepted the fact that I'm different and that other people are too. It's what makes the human race so amazing, so unique, so rich. Trying to make people fit into a group will never work because people are different. It's kinda like life throwing you oranges, you can never make lemonade no matter how hard you try, so deal with what you get.

Anyway, awesome video and good stuff! You're an amazing guy Dan!!!

    -Leopold Espinoza

  • @Duo1 Thank you Leo. Yes we all need to celebrate ourselves.

  • I have nothing to say except great video like always :) Love the way you always discuss and address these topics.

  • @thatoneshyguy20 Thank you :-)

  • I'm old, fat and tired...but I love you for who you are and I'm so glad I found you on here. You are an amazing person. Stay sweet <3

  • @HotMissa But those things are beautiful in themselves. Stay awesome, you are truly a compassionate person. That is why I love you as a subscriber

  • As a fat gay Christian I guess I have three strikes against me. I'm out.

  • @ianmcandrewmusic Ha ha ha whatevs Andrew. I know you're cool

  • i love your differences cause they make you you...and cause they make me giggle

  • @xxlipzxx LOL I know :P

  • WELL said :) I've been feeling similar things recently about my body and my sexuality.

  • @HappyAtheist76 Excellent, I am glad I could help :-)

  • Great message dan! That was really brave of you.

  • @FastMovinTrain Thanks, I see it more as honest. ;-)

  • amazing video :) great advice!

  • @MimiDahhling30 Thank you xox

  • Wow.. I never deny myself nutrition!

I sadly, don't think most people are intelligent or caring enough to get the message. They almost cling to their prejudices because to them, it's comfortable and seems, "right."

If only we all embraced difference.

  • @SugarInHisBlood And i think we should. Yeah poor self image causes you to do stupid things.
