Also, someone should create another emulator of this system but call it "The Fake 3DO". That would be a win. Or better yet, have 3DO games on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console and see if any stars in this galaxy happen to explode. Though, if they really wanted to create chaos, someone could own a Xbox 360, A PS3, a Panasonic 3DO, a Nintendo 3DS, and a Retron 3 and live in a house with a "3" on the letterbox and have 3 children each to a different wife.

If you are talking about a ps1, this was actually released about two years before the PS1 came out, so, it actually was one of the most advanced consoles. Don't get me wrong, it was a piece of shit for how expensive it was.

Imagine dishing out $700 for a console with no games for which you will still have to dish out additional money for a multitap if you want to use more than one pad. Fine, the 3DO was powerful for 1993, but not THAT powerful. Still, it's better than paying $2000 for a CD-i.

You didn't need a multi-tap for the 3DO, the controllers actually plugged into each other, although that does sound very awkward. I don't see why they couldn't have more than one controller port.

Companies do not learn, do they? Panasonic thought its 3D0 would sell like hotcakes due to better hardware despite its $700 price tag, and over a decade later, Sony thinks the same thing about their newest console. You want to win the console battle? Make your hardware affordable!

1) XBox 360 - 9.15 million

2) Wii - 7.38 million

3) PS3 - 3.25 million

These are the most recent stats we have at this time, and from them, it doesn't look like the PS3 is anywhere near the other two yet. The numbers don't lie; the PS3 is lagging behind right now.

True, but considering how dominant Sony was in the last two console generations over its competition, the PS3 is a major letdown. If Sony was expecting to run away with the competition again this generation, it hasn't shown any sign of doing so yet.

MGS4's release in a few weeks should help it start climbing the charts again, but a runaway doesn't seem plausible at this point in time.

It was the FPS version but it looked and played great, before that that I had only played FPS games on the Genesis.

Price is what killed the 3DO because the games were really good and by the time the price did come down the PSone and Saturn were out. I use to have a 3DO and played the crap out of it. I also had an Atari Jaguar which got some play because of games like "Alien Vs Predator", "Tempest 2000" and "Cannon Fodder" but the 3DO had great games like 'Blade Force", "Road Rash", "Starfighter" and the best version of " Street Fighter II" until the Saturn came out.
