Xerox history is full of similar stuff, they invented something, then they locked it up in a cellar. Only when someone else made a similar product they would pick theirs out and say we where first. Xerox, had good workers, crap managers.
Woz was in a car accident. After being in the hospital for a while he returned to Apple. When he returned though, the employees were going crazy (chucking parties etc) So he left. That being said, Steve and Steve still get along really well.
Steve's such a nice guy. If he gave a damn about money, he and Jobs would've fought like cats a dogs. When they were working at Atari before they founded Apple, Jobs got Woz to do his job (redesign a circuit board) for him by telling Woz he's split the pay 50/50. Woz did such a good job, Jobs was given $5000 for his work. He told Woz the pay was $600, and gave Woz $300. True story, and Woz never knew till much later. Imagine what else Jobs screwed him out of.
macs are great but if you don't have the money stay with pcs till you have enough money. This is my evaluation. PCs are like that car you don't really want and breaks down but it works and Macs are like that dream car you want like a lambo or a mustang that you work very hard for and finally get.
@Zodiac747 - Even though i don't own a Mac but I'm not sure if that's a good example or comparison because these days both Mac and PC uses the same hardware. I think the differences is the OS. That's pretty much it!!
In fact, technical it has shown you can dual boot with a Mac OS and WinXP.
@35g70 - Sure, AMD and Intel should have a debate on its own but my personal preferences is also Intel, due to the thermal problem of earlier AMD CPUs.
Since then i just never tried AMD CPU.But now i heard they are pretty much the same and also AMD being cheaper!!

AMD and Intel are nowhere near the same. AMD's latest generation (Phenom II, Athlon II) is about equal to Intel's last generation (Core 2 duo, Core 2 Quad) Intel's latest generation (Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and soon Core i9) is a lot faster then the Phenom II's and Athlon II's.
@35g70 Apple only started using Intel recently because they wanted the advantage of RISC processors. However CPUs are a small part of the original differences, All SCSI drives over IDE and Firewire over USB were biggies. They changed all these things for more market share because they became convinced they are "good enough" for the home market and because OSX made it all moot.
@enorbet2 also Because IBM was going out of the personal computer processor market, as apple has a small share of the market IBM couldn't compete with the prices of larger PC chip manufacturers and didn't have the capacity to research as much due to the smaller market for their processors

Intel i7chips in iMac's have bombed.
Some people have returned their i7's up to 7 times. i7's for Apple were designed w/a secure chip feature & either Apple's software is screwed up or the chip. They're both pointing fingers.
Much like Seagate drive lock up fiasco. The Secure chip refuses to allow OS to boot! Apple's in trouble!
Intel's i7, i5, and i3 chips are fine and are way better then anything AMD has out right now. The new Intel chips work great in "PC's" so I'm guessing the issues are with Apple and not Intel.

There will always be freeware, payware, crippleware, shareware, and pirated copies of everything. I think if a group of people spend all day working on something and want you to pay for their hard work, you have a choice of paying or pirating. Equally, if someone spends their life working on something and gives it away, that's their choice as well. Free isn't automatically better and neither is commercial. These arguments are useless.
But it isn't right to take away or steal what you don't have from somebody else. When you download a cracked copy of Windows XP or Call of Duty 4 you are no better than the person who walked into wal-mart, stuffed that software under their shirt and walked out. It's all still stealing, whether in physical or digital form and the law applies to both.

When software is pirated, a copy is made, and the original file was purchased by someone. When you steal from WalMart, you are removing a physical object, and so, obviously, WalMart can't sell that item. Pirating does not have that effect. Statistics even show that piracy causes increased sales!
Still, I do not condone piracy, but facts are important!

apple isnt better than microsoft and (2) most second graders have better marketing sense than apple. we don't decide who's better, the market does, and they chose microsoft overwhelmingly a long time ago. get over it.
The reason people chose microsoft is because they could not choose apple since apple would not release their OS to other hardware companies had they had the choice who knows. And microsoft is digging their own grave with vista which until windows 7 comes out apple has the chance to make up for lost time and enter further into the enterprise market. and no apple may not better than M$ but i personally think that apple tends to spend more time debugging and fixing their OS than M$.
Only way Apple will ever have a chance is to release there OS to other manufacturers or to the general public to simply purchase and install on any machine. Apple NEEDS to go software only if they want a chance. There hardware is simply just terribly overpriced.
It's not so simple; its a matter of ideology. Apple follows Steve Jobs' vision which has always fundamentally favored tight hardware/software integration. Gates has always led MS the opposite way towards a loose coupling & platform independence.
If you've never seen their joint interview from last year please do because this was the central theme. Gates' philosophy has worked better for PCs but Jobs' has worked better for integrated devices like Ipod & Iphone.
Steve Wozniak built a computer for himself. He chose the chips, built the logic board, chose the peripherals, implemented the programming languages and OS. Jobs saw his computer at a hobbyist meeting and thought he could mass market it as a product ... build a company. So the tight integration started with Woz's engineering and became the Apple way afterwards.

I just bought a vista, without sounding rude, let me just just say that I am truly surprised they released it with some of the problems it has. I wonder if they just threw it out into the market because they want to stop any hopes that xp will be continued. just my opinion.

Intel hasn't ever produced a pure RISC processor. The PowerPC cpu's where RISC. The intel are CISC processors like the Motorola 68000 series.
But that's not the full story today the CPU's are a mix of RISC and CISC. But intel comes from the CISC world.

I went from the Radio Shack Color Computer in 1980 to a Amiga 1000 in 1987 to a Mac in 1991 to a PC in 1994.
I'll say the Mac is 1000% better than it was, but so is the PC it cost less and is very flexible when it comes to hardware.
so will i buy a Mac never, but then again I'll never buy a Dell. I'll Run the Mac OS on my PC and call it a day if i want a Mac.

There will always be freeware, payware, crippleware, shareware, and pirated copies of everything. I think if a group of people spend all day working on something and want you to pay for their hard work, you have a choice of paying or pirating. Equally, if someone spends their life working on something and gives it away, that's their choice as well. Free isn't automatically better and neither is commercial. These arguments are useless.

But it isn't right to take away or steal what you don't have from somebody else. When you download a cracked copy of Windows XP or Call of Duty 4 you are no better than the person who walked into wal-mart, stuffed that software under their shirt and walked out. It's all still stealing, whether in physical or digital form and the law applies to both.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. You're 100% right. However, this is like "the war on drugs" or a "war on crime". For as long as there are people, we will have criminals. People will steal, cheat, lie and do bunch of things that they know is wrong or immoral. It can't be helped. Getting upset about the realities of our species is a waste of time. Our primal, survival instincts will manifest themselves in many ways.

Your erroneous analogy doesn't help anyone, cpuwizard. There is a fundamental difference between stealing at WalMart and pirating. When software is pirated, a copy is made, and the original file was purchased by someone. When you steal from WalMart, you are removing a physical object, and so, obviously, WalMart can't sell that item. Pirating does not have that effect. Statistics even show that piracy causes increased sales!
Still, I do not condone piracy, but facts are important!

The reason people chose microsoft is because they could not choose apple since apple would not release their OS to other hardware companies had they had the choice who knows. And microsoft is digging their own grave with vista which until windows 7 comes out apple has the chance to make up for lost time and enter further into the enterprise market. and no apple may not better than M$ but i personally think that apple tends to spend more time debugging and fixing their OS than M$.

Only way Apple will ever have a chance is to release there OS to other manufacturers or to the general public to simply purchase and install on any machine. Apple NEEDS to go software only if they want a chance. There hardware is simply just terribly overpriced.

It's not so simple; its a matter of ideology. Apple follows Steve Jobs' vision which has always fundamentally favored tight hardware/software integration. Gates has always led MS the opposite way towards a loose coupling & platform independence.
If you've never seen their joint interview from last year please do because this was the central theme. Gates' philosophy has worked better for PCs but Jobs' has worked better for integrated devices like Ipod & Iphone.

Steve Wozniak built a computer for himself. He chose the chips, built the logic board, chose the peripherals, implemented the programming languages and OS. Jobs saw his computer at a hobbyist meeting and thought he could mass market it as a product ... build a company. So the tight integration started with Woz's engineering and became the Apple way afterwards.

how did apple steal anything? people seem to miss the fact that apple and microsoft were working together for a long time on a workable gui interface for micro-computers. neither came up with the idea, but like many things, the innovation comes from refinement, not the invention.
MS lost their way when Ballmer was made the boss. Apple survived because Gates has no problem throwing money at good ideas. the mac v pc garbage makes for great bar arguments, but in the real world, it doesnt matter.

ShadowFOX4u - 1) Xerox was paid in stock for the visit. 2) Xerox's GUI was a basic concept but Apple had to do a LOT of work to make it usable. A few of the same basic GUI paradigms used in the first Macs are still present in OS X today. 3) IMPORTANT: Xerox was never interested in bringing their GUI to market. It only existed in a research lab. Xerox didn't have the foresight to actually put that idea into a mass market device.

Do your research - the claims that MS stole from Apple were all dropped - all the patent disputes went in MS's favor. MS and Apple eventually developed cross-license agreements and they both benefited from it. The reason why Gates is worth 10s of billions, and Jobs is worth about 3, is because Gates focused on the corporate world as well as home users. And if you think the iPod and the iPhone are original creations - think again - they all steal from each other...
